Ashaangi SS Bewitched

Chapter Thirty Eight

Harish sulked as he saw his sister and friend sharing eye lock in the name of shooting a reel. When Sivaangi told him about Ashwin's dreams and what happened with him, Harish was taken aback. Sivaangi expressed her idea about shooting reels for both Ashwin's business promotion and her cover song reel.

On hearing that, Harish was on cloud nine. He was finally happy that Sivaangi decided to overcome her insecurity and give a chance to her talent. He also wanted to help Ashwin. So, he accepted to help them with the content creation of the reel.

Sivaangi also spoke with Abin and Siddhu from BLU. They were happy with Sivaangi's decision and they were ready to help both Sivaangi and Ashwin. So, a small team from BLU came to Coimbatore to help shoot the reel. She decided to record the cover song once she goes back to Chennai.

As decided, they first finished shooting individual shots for Ashwin as a part of his promotion for his clothing brand. They shot it in a studio in Coimbatore. Then they decided to shoot a reel with both Ashwin and Sivaangi.

Ashwin sported a slim fit black polo shirt paired with khakhi pants. Sivaangi decided to sing a cover song of "Unn vizhigalil" from Darling movie for that particular reel. She was dressed in a kurthi and jeans. They both were very natural and they wrapped up the shoot for the day.

Next day, for the second cover song, Sivaangi decided to go with "Kangal Yedho" song from the movie "Chittha" Harish came up with a plan to shoot in a village set up. Sivaangi dressed up in the half saree that Ashwin stitched for her for the first time while Ashwin wore a light orange shirt and dark blue pants.

Harish was the one who helped the guy from BLU to choreo the whole thing. The team was shooting the reel while Harish watched. Although he choreographed the scenes, seeing his baby sister shooting a romance reel, he sulked.

'Aiyo raama, summave kannala dhan pesuvanga. Ipo naane avangaluku saadhagama script eludhi kuduthutene' Harish mentally sighed.

(Oh god, they usually speak through their eyes. Now I have written the script to their advantage!)

But Harish's lips curled into a genuine smile to see Ashwin and Sivaangi happy. Ashwin threaded his fingers through his hair as he smiled at Sivaangi and listened to her speak. They looked so good together and their happiness was radiating from their face.

The next sequence was to be shot with Ashwin riding a cycle and Sivaangi have to sit behind. The main problem was Sivaangi was bit scared to balance herself on the cycle. Ashwin got on the cycle and Harish walked towards them.

"Sivu, here hold my hand" Harish extended his hand.

The frown lines on Sivaangi's forehead disappeared when she saw Harish's hand. She held his hand. He placed his other hand on the cycle carrier and helped Sivaangi to sit on the carrier.

"Enn thangachi ah bathirama pathuko, mapila. Keela pota nu vaii" Harish fake threatened Ashwin who chuckled.

(Take care of my sister, dude. If you dare to drop her then)

"Seringa, sir. Neenga apdi poe orama nillunga sir" Ashwin punched Harish's bicep playfully.

(Okay, sir. Now go, stand in the corner, sir)

"Nalla gettiya pidichuko ma" Ashwin turned his face and Sivaangi nodded holding the carrier on both sides.

(Hold tightly)

The cameraman stayed close and Harish stood next to Sivaangi until she got accustomed to sitting on the carrier. Harish blinked his eyes at Sivaangi and stepped back once he felt she was ready. She smiled back at him but she tightened her hold on the carrier when Ashwin started pedalling slowly.

"Bayapadaatha. Vilundha kuda unna enn kula bathirama vachupen"

(Don't be scared. Even if we fall, I'll keep you safe within my arms)

That instantly brought a smile on Sivaangi's face as she placed her hand on Ashwin's shoulder. He smiled at her gesture.

The crew stayed back while Ashwin pedalled to some distance so that Sivaangi will get used to being seated on the carrier. He initiated some small talk to keep her mind from fear. Once he was sure that she was ready, he pedalled near the team.

Bharath from BLU gave a prep talk to both Ashwin and Sivaangi about what to do. On the count of three, Ashwin started pedalling slowly and the camera started recording. It took five more shots for them to get the sequence correctly.

By evening they were done with the shoot. Bharath and two more guys from BLU left to Coimbatore with Harish while Ashwin and Sivaangi walked home. They were shooting in Arasur and the house was only fifteen minutes' walk.

On the way home Sivaangi expressed how excited she was about the reel. She was walking on the side of the road and he walked next to her. She was cautious as she walked because of the vehicles.

"Thank you so much for doing this with me" Sivaangi beamed at Ashwin, "I'm yet to record the cover songs but somewhere I'm excited that this will work out, Ashwin. And, I wouldn't have done this without your push. Thank you so much"

Ashwin thrusted his hands into his pant pockets and chuckled softly, "Thanks lam vendam. Vera onnu venum"

(I don't want your thanks. I need something else)

"Yenna venum?" Sivaangi asked with a hint of curiosity.

(What do you want?)

"Hmmm, will you go on a date with me?" Ashwin asked with an eyebrow raised as he paused on his step for a second before moving to the other side of Sivaangi and continued walking.

"Date ah?" Sivaangi chuckled, "We are together most of the times. We have roamed around a lot, ate together, even went to movies. All these are dates right"

"Yes, but this date will be a little different than others. I have a plan ready in mind. A bit risky but chances of this flopping is very less. So, tell me now" He turned facing Sivaangi and walked backwards, "Will you go on a date with me?"

Sivaangi's smile deepened when she realized what Ashwin did. He was at the road side and she next to him. He looked charming with his gesture of hands in pants and walking backwards; his expectant eyes melting her.

"Yes!" Sivaangi's voice was soft and Ashwin did a small victory hand gesture and turned around to walk normally.

"Thank you, milady. Let's do this tomorrow night? You'll leave day after tomorrow right"

"Yes. I'm free from afternoon tomorrow. Why at night and what will we tell Harish anna? What's your plan? How will this work? Ho-"

"Wait, wait" Ashwin was about to hold Sivaangi's hand but took his hand back when he realized they are walking inside the town. Familiar faces smiled at them and they smiled back.

"Ma, let's talk about this later. We will drop by the shop first and then go home. Is that fine?"

Sivaangi agreed and they walked to the batter shop. There Saradha was with Malliga at the front. On seeing Ashwin and Sivaangi walking together, Malliga said,

"Aaha, renduperayum sendhu paaka evlo nalla iruku!" Malliga remarked gleefully making Saradha look up.

(Aaha, they both look so good together!)

Saradha saw Ashwin and Sivaangi together. To be honest, she agreed with Malliga mentally. They looked so perfect together. But not wanting to give away anything she gave a long stare at Malliga who walked away mumbling something.

Ashwin and Sivaangi greeted Saradha who greeted them back. She took evil eyes for Sivaangi and complimented that she looked pretty. Ashwin asked if there was any work for him. When Saradha said no, the trio walked back home.

After an early dinner, they all sat down and talked. Dhanalakshmi asked Harish and Sivaangi to stay back for few more days. Harish politely declined the invite, stating Anusha's marriage works.

Sivaangi made Dhanalakshmi and Saradha to promise to come for the pre-wedding ceremonies of Anusha's marriage. Reminiscing the last seven months, after a heartfelt conversation, they all dispersed to their rooms.

Sivaangi and Harish talked to their family through video call. Post that, she helped him with few reports and the siblings called it night by eleven. Sivaangi was too tired after a tiring day. She saw Ashwin's good night text. He must be tired as well. So, replying back, she slept.
