Chapter Nineteen

Sivaangi gulped when she felt Ashwin's cheek pressed against hers, his stubble pricking her ever so softly.

"Unna romba miss panen ma" Ashwin's voice caressed her cheek making Sivaangi flush. She looked at his eyes on the mirror and smiled as she caressed his arms that's wounded around her.

(I missed you a lot)

"Naanum ongala romba miss panen" Sivaangi relaxed in his arms.

(I missed you a lot, too)

"Epo veetuku varuva?"

(When will you come home?)

"Therlaye" Sivaangi tried to turn, to face Ashwin but he tightened his hold around her.

(I don't know)

"Ashwinnn" Sivaangi whined making Ashwin chuckled, "Let me look at you"

"Ipdiye paaru ma. See, you look so good" Ashwin complemented on looking at their reflection.

(Look at me like this. See, you look so good)

"Yedhu, indha t-shirt, tracks la ya?" Sivaangi rolled her eyes.

(What, in this t-shirt and tracks?)

"Yean ma? Indha dress ku yenna? Anyway, you'll look good in an-"

(Why? What's wrong with this dress. Anyway, you'll look good in an-)

"I'll look good in anything I wear, right?" Sivaangi shrunk her eyes and twisted her lips.

"Illaya pinna?" Ashwin grazed his cheeks with Sivaangi's making her heart quicken.

(Of course)

"Ada po Ashwineyy"

(As if)

Ashwin chuckled when Sivaangi's words contradicted her face as she tried to hide her shy smile.

Ashwin's mobile blared grabbing their attention. He let Sivaangi down and took his mobile. It was Harish. Eyeing at Sivaangi, he picked the call. She turned her face from him and patted her cheeks with her palms, trying to calm herself.

'Aiyoo, heart ipdi thudikudhe!' Sivaangi patted her heart.

(Ohh my heart's thudding too fast!)

"Seri, machi. Nee vaa"

(Okay, dude. Come)

Ashwin hung up the call and looked at Sivaangi.

"Ma, Harish pakathula vandhutanam. Naa keela poren" Ashwin softly tapped Sivaangi's arm when she didn't respond. She flinched slightly and looked at him.

(Harish is nearby. I'll go down)

"Harish's about to reach. Naa keela poren ma"

(... I'll go down)

Sivaangi nodded, not willing to ridicule herself by stammering. Ashwin smiled at her making her smile back at him. He softly tapped her cheek and blinked his eyes before walking out of her room. She leaned against her room door and blushed thinking about the recent happenings.

Looking down at her dress, Sivaangi decided to quickly dress up. She dressed up in a jean and top, made her hair and kohled her eyes. Dabbing lip balm on her lips, she picked her mobile and walked out.

Sivaangi paused on the stairs when she saw Ashwin bending down and touching her father's feet. Krishnakumar patted Ashwin's back. Anuradha and Kaleeswaran were also there.

"Romba porupaana, olukkamaana paiyan" Kaleeswaran patted Ashwin's arm who reciprocated with his hand on his heart and a smile.

(He's a responsible, well-mannered boy)

Both Anuradha and Kaleeswaran have met Ashwin during their visits to Arasur and they admire the guy. Aarthi was their mutual friend. At some point of her life, Anuradha crushed on Ravindran and so, she never called him brother. She got over it and fell for Kaleeswaran, her fellow classmate.

Harish walked in, drawing the attention to him. He greeted everyone and side-hugged Ashwin. Vinayak and his friends walked out from the play room. Bidding bye to the parents, they walked out and Vinayak joined his family.

Eeswari asked everyone to come for lunch. Ashwin's eyes searched for Sivaangi who walked down the stairs. He sat down in between Harish and Vinayak.

"Heyy Sivu, yaaru vandhruka nu paaru" Anuradha was the first one to notice Sivaangi.

(Heyy Sivu, look who's here)

"Hi Ashwin" Sivaangi smiled at Ashwin who greeted her back with a hi.

"Maa, na koncham munna dhan sapten. Neenga sapdunga"

(Maa, I just had my lunch. You guys eat)

Sivaangi took a fryum from Vinayak's plate making him scream at her. She shrugged and ate the fryum and dropped herself on the couch.

Ashwin smiled at the parents politely. Binni was serving him dish after dish and he tried to politely deny as much as he could but still end up with a plate full of food.

"Eeswari dhan samachadhu. Bayapadaama sapdalam pa" Krishnakumar said earning a smack on his arm by Binni while the rest chuckled.

(Eeswari cooked. So, you can eat without fear)

They all enquired about Ashwin's work and Saradha's business. Binni expressed her wish to come to Arasur and promised they'll come in near future. Vinayak quickly jelled with Ashwin.

Post lunch they all settled on the couch in the living room. It was Anuradha who suggested the young group to go out and that was enough for Vinayak to talk Harish and Ashwin into going to gaming café.

Ashwin looked at Sivaangi who looked right back at him. She obviously wanted to spend time with him. Why do her brothers have to do this to her? But Vinayak put her out of misery by dragging her to join them.

After putting a small show of not joining them, Sivaangi agreed. Ashwin chuckled on seeing her being dramatic but hid his chuckle when she raised her eyebrow at him. They went to VR Game café.

Vinayak paired with Ashwin while Sivaangi hooped her arms with Harish, taking him to different game. They played a multiplayer game where they all got to play together. Sivaangi never knew gaming was so fun and Ashwin get to admire all the different dramatic reactions which Sivaangi gave.

They wanted to play more games. So, they went to mall and played some games. They were playing dashing cars.

"Neyy, Vinayak car ah idi neyy" Sivaangi yelled patting Harish's arms. She laughed out loud when Harish dashed the car with Ashwin's. But shrieked when Vinayak dashed their car from behind.

(Bro, dash Vinayak's car bro)

After playing to their heart's content, they hit the food court to fill their tummy. Harish and Ashwin went to buy food while Sivaangi and Vinayak held seats for them. It wasn't too crowded but wasn't free as well.

"Broo, nalaiku turf la match iruku. Rendu naal irundhutu pongalen" Vinayak looked at Ashwin hopefully.

(Broo, we have a match at turf tomorrow. Stay for two days)

"Adhu na-"

(That I-)

"Ama, maple, iren da" Harish insisted.

(Yeah, dude. Stay)

Ashwin looked at Sivaangi who looked at him with hopeful eyes making him pause and think for a moment.

"Illa, adhu Stanley naa kelamburen sonnadhum inaiku night Bangalore kelamburan. Na-"

(That, as I'm leaving, Stanley's leaving to Bangalore tonight. I-)

"Enga veetla irunga" Sivaangi quickly said making Ashwin look at her.

(You can stay at our house)

"Ama bro. Enga veetla guest rooms neraya dhan iruku. Neenga veetuku vaanga"

(Yes, bro. We have lot of guest rooms. You come home)

Harish spared a glance at Sivaangi before looking at Ashwin, "Vaa da, machan. Rendu naal dhana. Aduthu work vishayama dhan varuva. Busy agiruva. Rendu naal irundhutu po da"

(Come dude. Just two days. You'll come only for work. You'll be busy. Stay for two days)

Ashwin looked at the siblings and slowly nodded his head, "Okay da"

Vinayak hooted and Harish pat Ashwin's arm. Sivaangi ducked her face to hide her excited face. They stopped by Stanley's who invited everyone inside. He gave a teasing smile to Ashwin as he eyed Sivaangi to Ashwin making Ashwin smack his arm.

Harish, Vinayak and Sivaangi were seated in the hall while Ashwin packed his back and Stanley helped him.

"Yenna machii, nee mobile la vachu pathutu irundha ponnu iva dhana? Harish thangachi nu sollave illa. Friend ah paaka poren nu sonnadhu idhuku dhana?" Stanley teased Ashwin who looked at him shocked.

(What dude, she's the one whose picture you were secretly seeing in your mobile? You didn't say that she was Harish's sister. Is that the reason you said you want to meet your friend?)

"Mobile la ya?" Ashwin looked caught and sighed, "Nee yepo da paatha?"

(In mobile? ... When did you notice?)

"Nee marachu marachu vachu pathutu irundha apo pathuten. Yenna, love ah?"

(You were hiding and watching her pictures. What, do you love her?)

"Dei, adhellam therla. Kathadha veliya ketra pogudhu" Ashwin zipped his bag.

(Dude, I don't know. Lower your voice, they might hear)

"Seri, seri. Nee sollu"

(Fine, fine. You say)

"Ava na pidikum da. Romba" Ashwin bit his lips biting back his smile.

(I like her. A lot)

"Paaru da, vekkama?"

(Woah, are you blushing?)

"Deii!!" Ashwin whined.

(Dudee!!)

"Seri, seri. Nalla irundha seri dhan. Orey veetla vera irukinga. Maja pannu" Stanley chuckled making Ashwin roll his eyes at him. With his backpack, he walked out of the room followed by Stanley.

(Fine, fine. Be happy. You are staying in same house too. Enjoy)

Stanley walked them out and they left after bidding bye to Stanley.
