Chapter Thirty Two - It's never too late
Minuet!
I gasped as Minuet let out a little hiss of pain from the retracting spikes that sank into his flesh.
I bit my lips to stop myself from crying as his paws opened gently before his whole body went limb and fell to the ground with a thud.
A scraping sharp sound was heard from the shackles and they retracted back into Xander's outstretched hands.
No don't look, don't-
A scream escaped my lips when I saw something red dripping non-stop from the small fur ball. There was no doubt that this red thing was blood.
"You monster! What did you do to him!".
I flinched as Xander gave him more sweet calm smiles, normally those smiles would make me swoon all over him- but now, I'm literally disgusted by that. The hatred I've for him now is greater than all the feelings I've been having for him, if there's anyone left that is.
"Knees on the floor". Xander ordered. "Or I get the others".
Anger and rage were burning through my body, but what could I do other than obey him? He's the one that outsmarted me this time.
Falling with a dull thud, I squatted- not kneel before him, with my face lowered and my gaze fixed at the ground.
"Squat sweetheart". He whispered and circled around me again, with his arms behind his back. "Not kneel".
I gritted through my teeth some curses before placing my kneels on the bare cold ground. I suddenly remembered when Minuet mentioned something about submitting and subjecting to some people- Hell no, I can't do that!
"Good girl". He cooed.
I maybe powerful and cruel outside of me, but one thing for sure was that I'm a big pile of softie within me.
Tears trailed down my chin and splashed on the ground with ease. I couldn't take the humiliation that a witch so powerful like me was so powerless, that she couldn't even stand up for her familiar. Is this some kind of curse or blessing?
"Don't cry now Blair...I won't kill you, not yet". He whispered behind my ears, caressing my tear stained face, and tilting it upwards to look him into his eyes with his wet smeared fingers.
Wet with Minuet's blood, that is...
"Because even the most heartless creature has a way of taking good care of his things".
My other powerful senses immediately sensed the shackles behind his back which was now retracting into a kind of leash.
He's going to put it on me!?
I wanted to put him in place, but he ended up doing that to me now. From the range between us, I could feel the inside of me...my powers, being drained, and my head started to get all dizzy. Trying to fight off the strange black hole did nothing but slowly paralyze me more.
"Don't fight it sweetheart, your neck's gonna have a pretty necklace".
Time was running out for me and Minuet, Xander had already started trailing his fingers down to my neckline and shoulders once more. I tried to wriggle out of his filthy hands, but my powers were no longer strong enough to push me away.
I may not know how to end you with my magic, Xander...but I can for sure do this!
"Go to hell, maniac!". I yelled before kicking him where every guy has his weakness, his groin.
I chuckled in satisfaction as Xander groaned in pain and landed on the floor, trying to find his momentum.
My head turned sharply at the glowing crimson gems on the devilish leash, which was laying besides my feet. Within some minutes, this leash would suck both the powers and strength in me and reveal my true form instantly. Without hesitation, I flung it over the balcony and smiled tiredly as it disappeared from my view and reach.
I could feel my magic slowly stir inside of me again- meaning that whatever I threw away was definitely my bad luck charm.
My magic...I can feel it again!
I jolted when I heard something from Xander- something that didn't sound like him at all.
He's laughing?
Seriously?!
My eyes widened as he stumbled back to his feet. I took small steps backwards into the room as he slowly staggered towards me.
"That was quite entertaining, Blair". He muttered under his ragged breaths. "I may not necessarily kill you, but you'd sure make a nice display".
Before I could move again, he was right in front of me with a deep frown on his face. He looks pissed off.
Shit, how come he came so fast?!
"You can't hide forever...it's not long before you actually change back to your real form". He laughed. "Wait, what are you doing?".
All the while he was blabbing and threatening me, I didn't realise when the magic inside of me had converted my emotions into a huge ball of black energy. Usually my magic was white, but the negativity around me was so much that the darkness consumed the good side of me. I wanted revenge badly.
The dark flames and aura reflected within the walls of my pupil and iris. My eyes had completely turned white and but my powers were dark now. I could feel every strand of the hair on my body on fire, but in a good way. Soon, my powers had activated a flame shield.
"What an interesting lady you are, Blair". He stated with an impressed grin and did what I never imagined him to do, he leaned into the attack zone rather than backing off.
"A-are you c-crazy!". I mumbled in a squeak as the edge of his shirt started shrinking in bits from the flames. "Get away before I make you!".
"Of course Blair, everyone tells me that, I'm a very crazy person if you get to know me". He chuckled in a very cold tone and leaned in even closer- like he knew my weakness!
"What are you so scared of, Blair?". He continued, with a dark smile tugging at the edge of his lips. "Scared of watching your lover burn?".
"It's you who should be scared, Xander!". I lashed with anger and let my emotions get the worst out of the elements that had engulfed me. The atmosphere changed and wind started blowing heavily from all corners of the building. Dark flames shot out of my hands towards this crazy guy, but he somewhat managed to dodge them all. I don't blame him- he's very experienced.
He seemed to be enjoying this cause I was the only one panting for breath and revenge while he was either chuckling or caressing his hair dramatically?
Wait a minute...
A thought dived in my head as Xander slowly approached me, I could still save Minuet now, it's never too late for a try.
"You're gonna regret saying that!". I wore a sly smile and flickered my arms around to create another combustion of energy- this time dark crystals.
Growling in anger, I ran to his front and pretended to lash out my anger on him, I watched with a chuckle as he turned around- like to dodge another.
Taking a quick flip over him, I managed to grab Minuet from the ground and lock him in my arms, with my balance steadied on the rail of the balcony.
Below me were rivers and bushes, so if I had lost my momentum that would've been a bad end for me. I gasped as more persons showed up from different rooms, so there are more here! From the look on their faces, you can say they're part of his gang.
The look of shock on Xander's face was something I'm forever gonna savour, I guess I took him by surprise big time.
"Nice playing with one of my supposed nightmares, see you never Hunters". I spat out, before letting myself jump over the balcony freely.
A normal person wouldn't dare this. No...not even Isabelle.
As I closed my eyes and muttered some reviving spells, Minuet's wounded figure came into my mind freshly.
A sob escaped my lips when I heard Minuet's weak meow of pain as I held him closer to my chest.
The blood dripping on my dress was too much for a sight even, and worse my parents...
God! My parents!
They'd so ground me for life...
