Chapter Four
"You look a lot better than yesterday" Jimin said with a smile as I sat next to him waiting for some food.
"Well after my first official day of work I'll look as rough as I did yesterday" I retaliated and plastered a fake smile across my face.
"Alexa is finally an adult" Jin cooed across the table.
I looked over to Taehyung who was up at the counter getting our food for us. He only had to get 4 meals for us as Yoongi was under strict instructions to stay in his room and sleep all day by Jin.
"How is Yoongi?" I asked, of course I was concerned for him. He was my best friend and yesterday was not a good day for anyone especially him.
"He's still asleep I think, I checked on him in the morning." Jin replied.
"What happened after they left the canteen?" I asked, I had left straight after they had checked everyone in the canteen to my room. I didn't want to risk anything going wrong in front of Quarter Moon and honestly I didn't want to be in the same room as Namjoon any more.
"They checked everyone else, even the youngest of them. I don't see the point, the lost Princess is the same age as you so what was the point in looking for her with the children or the males here" Jin said looking confused as he spoke.
"They were probably checking everyone in case she was disguising" Jimin responded, looking fairly proud of himself.
"Why would they bother looking at the youngest ones here though?" Jin asked, still looking confused, clearly trying to figure his questions out for himself.
"You never know, she might have had a child for herself and anyway, this world is filled with so many weird things that she might have a spell on her" Taehyung said from behind Jin, startling him, causing him to place his hand over his chest.
"Would you stop doing that, you're going to cause an early death for me" Jin said, slightly irritated, but laughing at the same time.
"Well you are starting to get old now" Jimin teased, meaning Jin leant over the table to hit his arm.
"I'm only 30 years older than you" He defended.
"Well you're 60 years older than me" I laughed as I remembered the age gap.
"That's not that big of an age gap though I mean have you seen how old some people are here" Jin continued to defend himself.
"How old do you think his son was?" Taehyung asked as he handed out everyone's food to them.
"Who's son?" I asked, not paying too much attention considering I hadn't really eaten since yesterday. I was too concentrated over how different Namjoon was yesterday compared to being in the woods.
"Lee's" Taehyung said, snapping me to his attention.
"I don't think he's as old as Jin or Yoongi, but definitely older than us" Jimin said whilst his mouth was full of meat.
"That's a really flattering look" I said to Jimin and rolled my eyes.
"I didn't like him at all, did you see how he was talking to Alexa?" Jin said and became quite tense, so did Tae at the reminder of our interactions yesterday.
"I should have said something" Taehyung said and started becoming angry.
"No you shouldn't have. That would have only caused more problems between our groups, and anyway we needed to be as calm for Yoongi as possible. It was my fault he was talking to me like that, I shouldn't have talked back to him like I did" I said and lowered my head, I'm not really annoyed by how I acted. It just showed me what his real colours were.
"You had every right to speak to him the way you did, they shouldn't have to rocked up here the way they did" Tae said, still looking irritated.
"Look, it's over now, we should try not to think about it or talk about it, especially when Yoongi is around" Jimin said and I nodded.
"I need to go anyway, I should probably get to the nightcare early" I said and picked up my food ready to leave.
"I'm having that if you're not eating it" Jin said and grabbed my tray back and started eating the food on it.
"You are such a pig" Jimin said and rolled his eyes.
I left the canteen and headed towards the stairs. I liked that my room was in the same building as the canteen and the nightcare, it just made life so much easier for my lazy self. I walked up the stairs and noticed George stood there talking to my mother in what seemed like a serious conversation. I began to walk slower and quietly, so that maybe I could hear them.
"You can't let them keep doing this, they are invading our space" I heard my mother say and then look down at me as I continued up the stairs.
"Is everything alright?" I asked, as I scrunched my eyebrows together.
"We are fine, what are you doing?" Mum asked me.
"I was going to see Yoongi before I go to work" I smiled, so that she wouldn't look so concerned.
"How is he?" she asked sincerely, she cared a lot for Yoongi, especially after his parents past away.
"I don't know, that's why I'm going to see him" I said and smiled to them both before pushing through them in order to go up another flight of stairs.
I walked down the hallway, passed all the different rooms and different people leaving the rooms ready to go eat or go to work. I saw Yoongi's room, it was next to Jin's room. They were lucky to be next to each other. I had Taehyung on the same floor as me, but he was on the other side to me.
I knocked on the door first, I knew he would probably be asleep, but at least he knew I was outside the room.
"I'm coming in" I shouted before opening the door. The room was in complete darkness with Yoongi spread across the bed in his shorts and T-shirt. I knew I was going to have to wake him up, but I really didn't want to. He wasn't exactly friendly when we was sleepy.
"Yoongi, it's your bestest friend here, please don't kill me" I cooed as I knelt next to his bed and spoke softly so that he wouldn't be woken up so eruptly causing him to become grumpier than usual.
He groaned slightly as he began to move and wake up. His eyes opened slowly and he blinked numerous times before looking at me properly. He smiled once he recognised who I was.
"Why are you smiling? Normally you are telling me to leave" I laughed.
"Normally you are with Tae or one of the others and they normally jump on me so it's quite nice not to be woken up from being jumped on" he laughed and smiled. His face was still scrunched up against his pillow on one side.
"Why are you here anyway?" he asked and scrunched his eyebrows together slightly.
"I thought I'd come check on you since I didn't see you yesterday after I left" I smiled, hoping to not anger him at the thought of yesterdays events. His smile faded, instead of looking angry, he just looked a little bit sad.
"I'm guessing your migraine has gone? I was worried about you" he said and his face looked concerned.
"Aw look at you being all sweet, like sugar. Maybe I should call you Suga, you know, it's hard of the outside but really it's sweet" I laughed and nudged him as I began to stand up from my squatting position next to his bed.
"Where are you going?" he asked and sat up in his bed.
"I have to work, unlike you. Go back to sleep, I'll see you later" I said and opened the door to leave. Instead of saying anything back, he just flopped back down into his bed to sleep again.
I left his room and began to head back towards the care part of the building. I'd done a couple of shifts there before, but as a volunteer. I knew this was going to be one of the options to work here for when I turned 180 and I had nothing better to do so I offered to help in my spare time. Plus it meant they got used to me ready for when I did start work. Jin worked as a tutor for those around 100 - 150 years old, he used to help me in his spare time when I was younger before he done it officially. Yoongi and Jimin worked together in the activities and sports area of the campus. All the girls loved seeing Jimin doing sports, it was pretty cringey to watch them gulp over him. I always found it funny that Yoongi worked there as well, he was one of the laziest people I knew but at the same time he was really good at sports, normally. Taehyung still didn't really have a specific job, he was trying to work his way up to being as high up and respected as our mum. I don't blame him, he could be really bossy at times. I didn't mind though, I could always work around him.
I could hear all the youngers inside the night care already. I enjoyed working here, they didn't know about all the bad in this world yet and they were still somewhat innocent. Don't get me wrong they could be annoying but once you got to know them they were fine.
"Alexa! I'm so glad you are here, they have been missing you this week" Linda said and hugged me. Linda was a middle aged woman with long blonde hair, she had minimal wrinkles, only around her eyes, but that was only because she was so smiley.
"Well they will be seeing me all the time now" I smiled back at her before walking to the front of the room.
"Miss Alexa! Miss Alexa!" one child shouted to me, she was small, with short blonde hair that was in a Bob.
"Yes?" I asked and smiled to the excitable youngster bouncing up and down on the floor.
"It's my birthday tomorrow, I'm going to be 38" she beamed.
"Wow, you are becoming so big now! Did you know it was my birthday the other day?" I said and squatted down in front of her so that we were nearly at eye level.
"How old are you?" Another child smiled.
"180" I responded and smiled to the other child.
"Are you going to always be with us?" one of the older children asked.
"Yes, you're going to have to get used to me" I laughed. All the children started jumping around and began to cling onto me.

"I'm glad you are working here, we needed more hands" Linda laughed as I finished up cleaning the mess that had been made throughout the night.
"I enjoy it here, plus it's better than working in the kitchens" I smiled and finished filling the box of toys and began to walk over to the other side of the room to place the box in its original place.
"How did you find yesterday?" She asked me in a more serious tone.
"I was only there for the checking part, I wasn't feeling too good so I spent most of my time in my room" I recalled and sat down on one of the tables and watched her as she finished up.
"I really hope they don't find what they are looking for, I mean just because she's not here doesn't mean she's necessarily far away, they'll look everywhere for her" she huffed and sat next to me.
"What's the point in looking for her? No one has ever seen her" I said, feeling slightly awkward that I was talking about myself.
"She's in her prime, I mean if she wanted to take the throne she could. Although I wouldn't blame her if she didn't. Anyway, they can't take over unless she's dead" she sighed as she crossed her leg over to her other leg.
The door knocked a couple of times before Linda shouted for whoever it was to enter. I saw Jin poke his head through the door and smiled before he began walking towards us.
"Hello Jin, how's Amy's tutoring been?" Linda asked. One of Jin's students was Linda's eldest daughter Amy, she was around 120 I think although I'm not sure. She looked almost the image of Linda.
"She's a bright girl" Jin smiled as he stood in front of us.
"Why have you come here?" I asked, slightly confused, normally if anyone came to find me it was normally Taehyung who would come.
"Yoongi and Jimin decided it would be fun to have a basketball game against each other so me and Tae agreed to be on their teams. I thought you might want to watch" he smiled. He was wearing a shirt and Jeans, he always dressed slightly smart when we was working. Unlike me, I just wore what was comfortable, I mean I was working with the youngers.
"Well I need to be there incase this breaks into a fight" I laughed and stood up from the table before following Jin to the door. Not before saying goodbye to Linda.
"So I'm guessing Yoongi is up then?" I asked as I walked next to Jin.
"Yes, and in a sporty mood. I think he's taking his anger out from yesterday on this. That's why I opted to be on his team" Jin laughed and diverted us towards the stares instead of the court.
"Where are we going? I'm pretty sure the court is outside and not up the stairs" I commented, I continued to follow him anyway.
"I'm not playing basketball in this am I?" he replied and rolled his eyes.
Once Jin had gotten to his room to get changed I stood outside of the door and waited for him. I noticed a few people my age going down the stairs in groups, they were probably going to watch the game too. Jin finally came out of his room in a t-shirt and shorts.
"Are you wearing the perfume I got you?" He asked and sniffed near me. I moved back slightly, pulling a face of disturbance.
"Yes" I said and began to walk away, knowing he would follow.
"It actually smells really nice" he laughed and looked down.
"Alexa, can I ask you something?" Jin said quietly as we walked down the stairs. I nodded and looked at him confused. He began to look around to make sure that no one else was here or could hear us.
"Why was Lee's son looking at you the way he was yesterday?" he said quietly and looked me in the eyes as he asked. I was shocked that he asked that. How did he look at me?
"What do you mean? Wasn't he looking at me the same as everyone else?" I asked slightly concerned. I mean, I knew that he looked at me differently once I took my sunglasses off, but I didn't think it was that much of a difference.
"No, there was something about the look, I'm not sure whether it was a look of recognition or not" he said, deep in thought. We had stopped half way down the stairs.
"I have no idea what you are talking about" I responded and started walking again. Jin followed but didn't say a word.
We continued in silence outside of the building and walked around to find the outside basketball court. We had a big campus with different building and outdoor activities scattered around. Although we didn't have that many people living here, only about 200 vampires roaming around, so it was pretty cosy compared to other places.
"Is there anything that will come out of the game?" I asked Jin as we began to near the court with people stood around it.
"I don't think so" he said and continued to walk.
"I'm still going to figure out what that look was" he said quietly before running off into the court.
I saw Yoongi, Jimin and Tae already there talking to each other in the middle of the court, they were laughing amongst themselves. They all smiled over to me once Jin pointed me out to the others as I stood by the side of the court.
The game started, I smiled when either team managed to get the ball in the basket. I cheered along with everyone else watching and laughed when Tae fell over. He was fine, just a bit shook up.
They were drawing when I could feel myself loosing concentration from the game. My attention turned towards the trees in the distance. I moved behind the crowd around the caught and looked into the woods. I couldn't understand why I began to become so focused on the woods. No one noticed me moving away from the crowd as the were so engrossed in the game going on.
I began to move closer towards the woods, slowly and quietly so that I could have a clearer view into the woods. The light from the moon shon down into the woods. I was so distracted by the woods, I barely heard the sound of cheers as someone clearly got the ball through the basket.
As I inched closer I saw a figure moving in between the trees and move deeper into the woods. Before I knew it, my feet began to make me run towards the figure and follow them. I was a fast runner so it wasnt hard for me to catch up. I noticed that the figure was heading towards the stream.
I began to hide behind the tree and look at the figure. They were tall, they had jeans on and a hoodie with the hood up so that I couldn't see who it was. I saw the figure slump down against the same tree I hid behind when I saw Namjoon for the first time.
The figure then laid their legs out and pulled their hood down. I still couldn't see their face, but I saw short blonde hair that was ruffled slightly but laid over the person's forehead. They then laid their head back and looked up at the sky, revealing their face.
I saw one side of his face as he looked up, he smiled, showing his teeth and licked his lips, revealing his deep dimples again. He looked so beautiful in this light. I felt mixed feelings, he was so beautiful and charming when I first met him, unlike him yesterday, he was acting as if he had all the power and was so unkind. I wondered what his real self was. I knew it may be dangerous if I just came out and sat with him. He might be the same as yesterday.
"I know you're there, Alexa" He said loudly for me to hear and turned his head to my direction with a smirk again.
