Chapter 3~Flashback

Guzma could hardly sleep last night, his brain wouldn't calm down. He yanked at his tangled hair, his body constantly turning and flipping to the other side.

She wrote that so long ago, would she still even be there like she said she'd be? Millions of "what if"s ran through his mind, having second, third, fourth, fifth thoughts about it.

He woke up the next morning, feeling his eyes slightly puffy and his body ache in tiredness. After a few minutes of staring at the ceiling, he finally forced himself to get up and go straight to the bathroom, cleaning himself up.

Guzma stared at his own reflection, noticing all of his imperfections even after showering. His hair was still soaking wet, so it sopped to his head, dropping water onto the counter. Yeah, he used to be the big boss and everything, but that was long gone.

Maybe he should've have given up everything because of his own selfishness. Things would've turned out dramatically different if he hadn't screwed everyone over.

He shook his head and rubbed a towel through his hair, semi-drying it. Quickly changing into his favorite pair of comfortable black sweats and a white v-neck t-shirt, he started packing with millions of thoughts roaming in his mind. It's not like he could stop his mind from thinking, the only thing it'd do is make him more frustrated.

Guzma finally walked out, seeing the ex grunts already up and about their day. "Ey, uh, could I borrow ya laptop to look up the next flight available?" Ryan nodded his head, quickly getting up to retrieve his laptop and handing it over unlocked.

For about half an hour, Guzma scrolled through the internet for the nearest flight, not even caring how expensive it was. "Yo, see anything boss?" Ryan hovered above his shoulder, looking at the screen to read the flights.

Guzma groaned, ruffling his hair. "I ain't your boss anymore, but uh, yeah I think I'll go on this one tonight." He pointed to a flight that had lot of empty seats available, finalizing his decision. "It'll be late when I get there, but I don' really care."

"Okay, sounds coolio. You can hang with us, yo!" After that, Ryan took a seat on a random couch and turned on the tv, looking for something that'll grab his attention.

Guzma printed his flight ticket, then folded the papers and stuffed it in his pocket so he wouldn't lose them.

After he did that, he realized that he didn't have anything to do. Nothing, nobody to yell at for being a numskull, no motivation to inspire ideas to steal pokemon.

But here he was, with the same people who never had a second thought about him.

He walked around the small house, looking at all the items placed in it. There were lots of pictures with mostly the grunts having fun, but his eye caught one in particular. Narrowing his eyes, he approached the smaller sized picture that was placed on a random shelf, picking it up and holding in his hands.

There they were, the two of them having fun. His right arm wrapped around her petite body, his focus completely on her while showing a side smile. Her left hand was touching his chest lightly, obviously cracking up at a joke he'd said before someone had taken the picture.

The most beautiful aspect of this though..she was full heartedly smiling. Her eyes were closed from obviously laughing, her pearly white teeth showing.

"Oh c'mon now! Yo, I'm tryna take this pic for you guys! On a count of three, got it?" A grunt huffed, holding the digital camera in his hand while having a 'BRUH, REALLY?!' look on his face.

Guzma waved his hand. "Ey, this ain't serious or anythin', we'll be ready."

The grunt shook his head at the admin and boss. "Okay, whatever yo...OOONE...."

"Psst, hey Plumes." Guzma whispered in Plumeria's ear, wrapping an arm around her body that currently was shaking from stiffing laughter back. He brought her close to his body, his cheeks turning red from blushing.

"..TWOOOOO....."

"If you were a burgah at McDonald's, you'd be a Mcgorgeous."

"-THREE!" *snap*

"Shut up~!" Plumeria laughed out, giving up on holding the laughter back. Her body shook from the meaningless jokes he kept whispering her, making every one even more funny than it actually was.

"Oh COME ON BOSS! I give up on this, yo!" The grunt threw his hands up and walked away past the two, a little agitated from wasting time. "Ey, play some music!"

"Yo yo, I got this!" Another grunt yelled, immediately turning on a random song through the speakers.

'Yeah, Usher...'

Guzma wasn't done making her crack up, as his ears perked to listen to the song.

'This is for the A...'

He pulled out his Kermit the Frog hand puppet from his pocket, thankful that he grabbed it just in case he wanted to make her laugh again. Plumerias eyes widened in curiosity at the green Kermit puppet on his left hand, for a spilt second wondering why he'd even have that with him. Well, that was her best friend for you.

Guzma cleared his threat lightly, then began to sing along in his best impression of Kermit the frog. "Shawty I don't.." Plumeria's face immediately had a laughter-smile plastered on her flushed face, obviously from all the giggles she had. "Pffft, Guz~!"

"MIIIIIIND~!"

He felt a real smile form on his lips as she burst into a bundle of giggles and laughter, something that was hardly ever seen. It was a truly rare sight for anyone, but in these moments he always treasured them. They weren't worrying about having enough money to pay the bills, hiding away from police that came to investigate every so often, it was freedom to be themselves. Her laughter was the most beautiful angelic thing he's ever heard, but he'd never admit that to anyone.

"G-Guzma, s-stop making me l-laugh! I swear I'll knock you over the h-head with one of those old trophies you h-have!" Plumeria barely stuttered out, which only made him continue to sing in her ear with his Kermit impression voice.

"If you dance on a pole~" Guzma let out a laugh when her hand covered his mouth, the space between them almost nonexistent.

"Dat don' make ya a o~." His words were hard to comprehend from being somewhat muffled, until she gave in and just let herself laugh, one hand balled up covering her mouth and the other still grazing his chest.

"Shawty I don't...MII-II-IIND~!" He wasn't about to just stop and make her embarrassed from laughing that much to storm into her room just yet. These were his favorite moments when she didn't have her dominant guard up, appreciating every moment of her real self that she'd buried long ago, but he somehow could manage to dig it back up every now and then.

Guzma stared at the picture, remembering every second of that scene. That was unforgettable, permanently imprinted into his brain.

"Ey Ryan..could I keep this?" Guzma came back into the room, showing him the picture. "Uh, yeah man, go ahead." The teenager went back to watching the tv.

Guzma walked back and slipped the picture out of the frame, placing the wooden piece back on the shelf. He glanced at the picture for a few more seconds, then pulled out his phone, opened the case, then placed it right on the inside of it. Luckily, he had a bigger phone so the picture slipped perfectly in.

He snapped his phone back into it, then shoved that into his other pocket and continued to look around, trying to keep his mind temporarily occupied from past flashbacks.
