Chapter 9

The twins had headed back over to their house not long after, they were going to face the music which was their parents. Laylian and Sylvester hung out at their home for a little bit, their house was close enough so that they could feel the energies coming from Hazel's house. That was a fact that they didn't acknowledge very often as they really enjoyed their sleepovers, Sylvester actually gets some sleep over there.

Laylian could tell that there was something bothering Sylvester , she didn't' know if she was in the right place in asking if he was alright. The two of them haven't' really had time to do things with each other in a while.

"What's on your mind?" Laylian asked Sylvester as she walked over to him, he was looking out of the window in the kitchen which was next to the dining table. He was watching the children leave school and play on their scooters , having fun with each other whilst their parents talked.

"It's just...unusual." Sylvester tore his eyes away from the window and looked towards Laylian. "I thought i'd be used to this by now...being around people, talking, understanding their feelings but," Sylvester gave a long sigh "I can't relate to what Kelso and Tyrell are going through and it's irritating me...what?"

Laylian's somewhat apprehensive look turned into one of sympathy and understanding. "Oh sylvester..." Laylian sat next to Sylvester and put an arm around his shoulders, which he leaned into. "I know what you mean, kinda. I can not relate to this situation either. My parents were rather the opposite in nature, they were always breathing down my neck. But it's okay not being able to understand exactly how someone feels. You just need to do your best to be there for them, even in the darkest of times and the lightest times."

Though Sylvester appreciated the comfort he got from Laylian's words , there was something that bugged him. "Theres...another thing...but it's more of a personal issue. Why-why is there light and dark?" Sylvester's head turned back to the window with a hint of self-loathing seeping through to his expression. "Why is light and dark always seen as right and wrong? It may have originated with us but-"

"Sylvester. Please dont' dwell on it." Laylian grabbed her friends hand and gave it a squeeze since her arm had slid off his shoulders. "What happened in the past has nothing to do with us. How our races acted and the reputation hat they uphold does not fall onto us, we do not need to live out the expectations people have for us. You are one of the sweetest people i know. You're a brilliant dark fae sometimes we need a little darknessor we wouldn't be able to see the stars or fall asleep soundly."

Sylvester was about to reply whens something caught his eye. He was swift to stand up and head out of the door, he was only wearing socks on his feet but that didn't stop him as he exited his house int he rather poor weather. This action startled Laylian as she watched her friend exit the house. She had a quick moment of fear where she assumed that she had done something wrong or that something had happened to the twins. Though with a quick moment of concentration she could tell that all was right in the Jewlson household.

Out the window, Laylian could see Sylvester walking across the road, though there was no cars or other vehicles coming his way, she was a little bit upset that he didn't look before he crossed the road. Laylian could hardly see what Sylvester was doing as he bent down under a bush.

Under the bush was the reason sylvester hurried out the door. There was the sound of whimpering and the bus was shaking where the little creature hid. The rain was pouring down and even Sylvester would have been shivering if he wasn't so preoccupied.

Curled in a tight ball, was a very dirty and very scared looking Bocker. It's light fur was really difficult to see as it was on the small dog's tummy, all of it's fur was matted the mud which covered it , the poor thing was shaking uncontrollably mostly because of the coldness and slightly out of fear.

Sylvester immediately got attached to the shivering pile of fur which was on the ground. He didn't know what kind of owner would leave their dog out in weather such as this. That was the moment he realized the dog didn't have a collar, 'perhaps the dog had just accidentally gotten out of the house' Sylvester thought in hopes that the dog was well looked after in it's home.

Though the first cause of action was for the dog to get out of the cold and rain. There were a few ways that he could go about this, he could pick the dog up and risk scaring it even more, he could bring something outside in order to lure the dog to follow which may take more time then Sylvester would like. With a big sigh and a look around to make sure no-one was watching him, Sylvester decided to opt ofr another action.

Sylvester got closer to the dog and gently moved it's head, the dogs eyes were slightly open as they locked onto Sylvester's face. "Shh" Sylvester said, not having much experience with dogs and wanting this dog to keep calm. "I'm not going to hurt you, i'm going to take care of you." The dog seemed to only stop shivering a little bit as Sylvester used is persuasion to calm them down.

Though it may have been a little bit, the dog was now calm enough so that Sylvester had no fear of bringing them into the house. Laylian was waiting at the door with a towel for Sylvester but once she saw the pup in his arms she ran off to get another one. "Oh my gosh the poor thing!" Laylian quickly took the dog out of Sylvester's arms and started to dry them on the floor.

"Sorry for running off but uh-" Sylvester started but was quickly shushed by Laylian who was still tending to the little dog. The next few minutes were spent taking pictures of the dog to create found posters, giving the pup some food and water whilst discussing the idea of keeping the dog . Sylvester had to be convinced that the wait needed to be longer before they kept her but in the end they settled on three weeks, if no one contacted them by that time Ebony would become a part of the family.
