Chapter 8
It was friday before the twins knew it. It was the day their parents were coming to visit them. Of course they had their regular daily events of going to school and figuring out what on earth the place is. Though after four pm the twins knew that their life would need to be mundane, at least for the next few days.
The four of them were currently walking home from school. The twins had decided to drop the fae off at their house , they would be able to catch up with them later and they were close enough in order to sense any danger.
"You two don't seem...excited?" Laylian asked as she walked into her living room, which had taken on the appearance of a grand space with light blue walls and gray furniture. There was a chandelier in the middle of the ceiling which cast pretty shapes of shadows ont he walls when the light was on and the night was dark.
"well..."Kelso began to say when she saw Tyrell Was not going to say a word. "Don't get us wrong we love our parents , it's just they haven't been a big part of our lives." There was a bitter tone that Kelso tried to hide. Tyrell scoffed and crossed his arms with a somewhat annoyed look on his face.
"Well they haven't been very involved at all." Tyrell pointed out, he was usually a calm and relaxed person , as the fae had grown to know, but this was one of the things that riled him up. "I mean they came back for christmas and stayed over new years but come january second they were on the road again...i highly doubt they remember our birthday."
Knowing he would likely say something that he'd regret pretty soon Tyrell uncolded his arms and headed up the stairs. Sylvester watched him go and didn't wait a moment to follow him. They knew where he was going, whenever Tyrell got frustrated he would go to Sylvester's room to calm down. It got to a point where Sylvester's room had became heavily influenced by it.
Sylvester's room was a light green colour and it had quite the nature aesthetic, there was dark wood furniture and there was quite a few decorations . The dream catchers and wind chimes were Sylvester's favourites. Tyrel liked to go there and meditate when he felt frustrated, there have been a few evenings where he and Sylvester stayed over at the fae's house to get away from people.
This is how Sylvester had found Tyrell, he was sat on the blue meditation pillow that he had moved over to the fae house since they had little to no room for it in the twin's room. Tyrell had a meditation bottle in front of him and he was watching the glitter move through the mixture of water and glue. "Do you wish to talk about it?" Sylvester asked as he came closer and sat on the ground next to Tyrell.
Tyrell gave a small chuckle with a slight smile "not really ...it's just..." Tyrell gave a small sigh as he looked to the air in front of him rather then the bottle. "I-our parents gave us a brilliant gift of course, the gift of life and i'm grateful. Though they could have been there to see us use it."
Sylvester was finding it rather difficult to sympathise, he didn't really know his parents and he knew they didn't care for him since he was left all alone. It must have been tough for Tyrell who still kept being revisited by his parents through his life. To Sylvester it was kind of like a light that you would leave on and sometimes go back to charge it up with love and attention.
"Don't worry...if something happens you can always call me and i'll come runnin' Sylvester said in order to try and make tyrell feel better. This seemed to have been successful as the two of them shared a chuckle .
Kelso and Laylian had watched the boys exit the room. "Is tyrell going to be okay?" Laylian asked kelso as she watched Tyrell's back. The behaviour was unlike anything that Laylian had seen coming from Tyrell, she wasn't expecting the bitter tone or the anger. The twins usually brushed off or avoided any conversation about their parents and Laylian was becoming more and more curious why that was.
"Yeah he'll be just fine!" Kelso said with a rather unconvincing smile. Laylian made it rather obvious that she didn't buy any of what Kelso was selling. "I mean..he'll be fine! Totally fine! We just- don't have the best relationship with our parents . it's nothing major...Kelso trailed off at the end as she looked down, playing with her watch.
"You know i don't believe that...it wouldn't have caused that big of a reaction..."Laylian walked over to Kelso and wrapped her arms around her. "I'm not going to pressure you into telling me, but just as long as you know i'm always here for you incase you want to talk or need me.okay?"
Laylian's voice had gotten sillier towards the end of her sentence which caused kelso to give a cute giggle . Laylian's sincere smile turned into a rather evil one as she looked towards Kelso. Kelso saw this and her chuckle stopped. "Wh-what's that look for?" kelso began to back up , but she didn't get very far since Laylians' arms were still around her.
"Oh no-" Laylian said as she started to chase Kelso around the livingroom. "Come back here!" They were sure the boys could what them from Sylvester's room but the situation as too funny for them. This was exactly what Laylian wanted, to bring laughter and happiness to Kelso . Therefore a nice tickle was in order.
By the time the boys had reached the living room again the girls had collapsed on the floor, worn out from the laughing, giggling and tickling of the last five minutes. They were still trying to get their breath back when they heard Tyrell ask "what on earth happened here?" Tyrell had a small smile on his face and the fae were beaming with success.
