chapter 55

Chapter 55

"I'm too scared to ask." Kelso muttered under her breath in response to Addafor. She could tell straight away that what he was thinking meant much darker things then a simple poison or toxin. She wouldn't have been incorrect.

"Well...it's not as clear of an antidote, though it is possible for the effects to be reversed rather easily." Addafor informed. "In ways this would be worlds easier to cure but the fact that it happened in the first place is quite terrifying" He zoning out whilst explaining this and looking through the book until he realized what he had said. His eyes went wide and he cleared his throat. "I-uh obviously it's terrifying, my apologies."

"But what is it father?" Acheron asked impatiently, he wasn't too fond of people beating around the bush or just not saying what they mean.Addafor was holding back until he knew for certain, he didn't want to scare the twins just in case he was wrong. He had the slight suspicion that the twins would be scared regardless of whatever he had to say. Unless it was the cure which would help their nanna.

"Addamak , surely you know what Addafor is thinking?" Laidra interrupted. Addamak and Addafor used to spend every moment together before the drama occurred. Addamak pondered for a few moments, stroking his beard. It was clear to everyone when he thought he knew what ddafor was considering as his eyes widened.

"No!" Addamak had a tone of disbelief as though he couldn't believe Addafor was even considering the idea. "But that would mean-" Addamak was interrupted by a cough from Vansilla. The children all had rather annoyed looks on their faces. Some were intrigued and some were panicked but overall they each held a little bit of annoyance for being out of the loop. "Surely you can't think that-"

"I'ts the only explanation..." Addafor muttered to himself before looking towards the twins. "Well...if you want the good news then i shall tell you it could be a rather straightforward solution." The twins breathed a sigh of relief. "As far as I know, Your grandmother seems to be in a rather unfortunate situation. One I myself have been in before." Another venomous look was sent in Addamak's direction who elected to ignore it.

"The cure would simply be happiness, or joy. Any positive light emotion. " Addamak told the children. "Though i realize it sounds horrifically stereotypical. If what we think has happened is the case then that is the simple antidote." The twins were a lot more relaxed now as opposed to when they had first came to the dimension. There was still a lot of confusion.

"But what do you think happened?" Landso questioned. Tyrell sent him a grateful smile, he didn't feel like talking at all now. He had lost his confidence and want to socialise. He would much rather just sit and stare.

"Well...." Addamak eyed Sylvester silently. "The dark fae can control things through many different areas. Such as the mind and spirit." He spoke slowly, he had to think of each word carefully, he didn't want to upset anybody. Especially Sylvester, it would be a rather uncomfortable topic for him. E could sense that Sylvester wasn't too keen on discussing his kind and their abilities. "The dark fae could also control emotions and energies. If Hazel experienced such negative or dark energies, the dark fae would be able to control that. Potentially taking the energy away from her, leaving the dark marks."

"So..." Kelso mumbled under her breath before clearing her throat and speaking up. "Nanna just needs to feel positive emotions again? It's as simple as that?" Her eyes were glowing with hope . It seemed straightforward and easy the way that the two brothers had explained it. She took notice of Tyrell's and Sylvester's hands clasped together under the table.

"Logically, yes." Laidra informed softly. "It depends on how quick you get to her. I'm assuming the noise that you heard was her sensing that friends were there" She was holding herself back from speaking her thoughts. She felt immense amounts of pity for the lady. She must feel so sad and so alone right now. She didn't have any personal experience with having her energy drained in that way but she had heard that it was something horrific.

The twins were eager to get back to the hospital and to see their nanna . If that was what could help then why didn't they start with that and then they could discuss further information aftwarwards? The thought was swirling in the twins' minds but it was Tyrell who spoke up. "There's something you're not telling us, isn't' there?"

"I believe-" Landso interrupted before his parents tried to sugar coat what they were about to say. Landso believed that the twins obviously cared about their nanna and getting straight to the point would make this go even faster. "That my parents said earlier that the fact that this has happened is more concerning then the actual results of it." He paused a moment to see the confusion on everybody's faces. "The fact that there is a dark fae out there who could do that is worrying, but the fact that the dark fae actually did it to someone shows that they're not scared, they've made a move and they're waiting for us to make ours."

"So we'd be wasting a move if we helped our nanna? But it's time-sensitive." Tyrell's voice was sharp and rough. He was angered that Landso was suggesting that they do nothing for Hazel at the moment. "That's not an option right now, this isn't' chess or checkers . We can make more than one move, there's so many of us.If it's the fae we think it is then they have more on their side then we think." His eyes were full of determination and strength. He knew kelso wouldn't say it, she much preferred to please people or to compromise. Tyrell had to make it known that he wasn't going to give up on his nanna, for the three of them.

The fae surrounding them nodded in understanding .Addamak stood up from the chair he was in and stretched slightly. "Right then..." He trailed off, he enjoyed the empowering feel of the room though the tenseness wasn't something he enjoyed. "We best be off, i'll jsut take the twins then?" He asked Laidra and Addafor. He seemed anxious addressing the two .

"Please, we shall discuss more about this dark fae." Addafor said and turned to the twins. "Be assured that it is not an immediate process. She may not even make a move to acknowledge that you are there."The warning somewhat warmed the twins' hearts. They knew that they shouldn't expect anything miraculous to happen. She wasn't' going to jump out of bed and give them a hug. It was nice to hear that , it would let them be less disappointed.

"We'll stay in touch." Sylvester nodded his head to the three who were about to leave. So they were separated again, for how long none of them knew.
