Chapter 5
They had walked through the woods until they reached the small stone building. You could tell that it was rather old and that it seemed to be something that looked as though it wouldn't be out of place in a fantasy movie. "This looks grand..." Eden noted as she scanned the place, attempting to memorize each and every detail of the stone. She wouldn't be opposed to re-creating this image in art.
Devin was also in wonder as she scanned the area, adding onto her cousin's statement "Grand, old and very out of place...are yous ure this is what grams was talking about?"Devin pointed the question towards the four who were examining the place, wondering how the place on the inside looked the way it did. It made no sense as the outside doesn't match the inside what so ever, yet if they were boeing honest, not a lot made sense at the moment.
"We're pretty sure." Sylvester said with a small smile, it was rather nice watching people see the place for the first time. The wonder and astonishment that was probably on their faces when they first saw the place was something fantastic to see. Sylvester and the other three understood the effect the place had on people. Though they were a bit pre-occupied the first time they were there, wondering why it was in the humans' dreams.
"Yeah you haven't actually seen the reason why we thought of this place."Kelso announced as she walked forward and started to head down the stairs. This time they had brought a pretty powerful light so that the shadows would not trick them into falling down the steps. They walked in a single file line as that was pretty much all the room the stairs had , they were sure that it would be a tight squeeze fi they went in pairs.
"Besides if it wasn't why would there be a towering and looming darkness in the place?" Tyrell asked almost sarcastically , yet he was hoping for an answer. He liked the place and hoped that it wasn't somewhere he would feel fear or dread. Though he knew that it was unlikely. The place was amazing as the wildlife and the nature seemed untouched by the outside world. It was something magnificent, something where darkness should nto tread.
The cousins were speechless as the doors opened. The sight still shocked the four who had already been there. It seemed too good and too peaceful to exist. It was almost enchanting in it's beauty.
The six of them walked around the place, trying so see how big it was and if they had missed anything the first time they were there, or in Eden and Devin's case getting to know the place. The twins knew that the symbols in the water were very important and went looking for more. There was a total of eight in the place. They still could only make out an eye and a book but they took pictures of the rest they found.
Once they were done they gathered in the centre of the place and sat on the floor. They were all on edge after the tales of what had happened there the first time they found the place.
"What do you think they mean?" Kelso asked the group as she calmly looked through the pictures. Some of them were still strange to them, being somewhat indescribably or distinguishable. They could still see the eye and the book, those were very clear to them, There was one more that was very easy to see and that was the image of a heart, a very anatomically correct heart.
"Well they obviously mean something."Tyrell muttered. "Or else why have them here?"he wondered aloud, not expecting an answer but got a few nods of agreements in response. He got up and walked towards the water where he could see a few of the symbols and hummed in thought.
Sylvester had followed him, staying stood as Trell sat down closer to the water. Sylvester had accidentally kicked a rock, making it fall into the water. The two of them watched in horror as the water ate into the stone, they watched it dissolve until Sylvester quickly grabbed onto Tyrell's shoulder as the human scurried back.
"Well..." Sylvester said as they hurried back to the others "that was a sudden development." Kelso began fretting over her twin and making sure he was alright, there was a few new rips in his trousers, which hadn't been there before, though they were extremely small, mimicking the splashes of the water that hit the loose fabric.
"Yes i now know where i will be avoiding." Devin said as she looked unhappily towards the water, Eden as distracted by her drawing pad and pencils as she tried to capture each and every detail of the wonderful place . "i know better then to trust my dexterity near something that could eat me like acid."
"Same here..." Tyrell said as he pointed a look towards his twin who gave a silent agreement. Though Tyrell knew to stay away it would be tempting for kelso to try and jump across, Like some sort of superhero. Tyrell didn't doubt his twins common sense but rather her memory.
"I'm not sure if we'll gather anymore information here...no matter how nice this place is." Laylian said as she continued to look through the pictures. They needed to print them off and try to identify them. It seemed like a rather fun task if it were not for the importance of it.
"I can second that," Eden said as she started to stand up . "this place kind of gives me the creeps. Like we're being watched or something" The other five nodded in agreement with murmurs of how they should be going. The six of them headed back to the Jelson household where Dawn and Hazel sat in the living room.
"How was it dears?" Dawn asked enthusiastically. She wanted to know if it was as magnificent as she had heard it was. If the reality matched the stories which were told to her for years.
"Creepy"
"Magnificent"
