Chapter 46
The evening and the morning were slow. There was much debate about what was going to happen and where they would sleep or rest though compromises were made. The two couples stayed at the fae house whilst Addamak took the other three to his house, he said they would feel much more 'at home' there . Nobody knew what he meant but they agreed to it anyway.
The fae were shocked when they entered Addamak's house , It looked rather similar to home. The colour scheme was the same, though it was a lot more comforting . The fireplace was large and the settee's were extremely comfortable. The boys felt like they could stay there forever. When Addamak told them that he had two spare rooms they didn't have the highest of hopes.
It was borderline creepy how perfect the place was for that situation. There was a room with a bunk bed and a room with a queen sized bed. It was a no brainer who was going to be in which room. They knew they would be staying for more than one single night. It was inevitable as they wouldn't be able to get things done tomorrow. There aren't enough hours in the day to make that work.
None of them wanted to get out of bed the next morning, they were missing school again, heck the twins didn't know what day of the week it was. Nevertheless they all met back up at the fae's house. They felt refreshed and ready for whatever the day had in store for them, mostly.
"Good morning!" Laylian said cheerfully as she was sat at the small dining table. It would have been a rather tight squeeze if they all tried to sit around the table and so they went into the living room, it was still easy enough to see them since the layout was extremely open. "Sleep well?" Though it was lovely to see someone so cheerful, it was early and it was not appreciated very much.
It seemed that Laylian was the only cheerful one that morning as the twins came downstairs in rather sour moods. They both had a small headache, the argument from the day before had them thinking the majority of the night, It was purposeful on Kelos's part but Tyrell just couldn't' get it out of his head.
Breakfast was a quiet affair and before they knew it they were in the woods once again. Nobody felt the need to talk very much , except for Kelso and Laylian who were chatting quietly to each other. There was the occasional 'hello' from sylvester as he spoke to the birds and the trees, but other than that it was silent.
Everyone had gotten used to Sylvester's antics, he loved natura very much and communicated with all animals or trees. He was shy about doing it at first but after the twins saw him talking to the bird who helped them find Laylian, he was a lot less shy about it. He was still having self confidence issues about his species, learning about it made him feel both better and worse. The whole reason they were in this mess was because of a dark fae who was power hungry. He hoped nobody would judge him based on that, no more than they already did.
There was the tradition of being star struck as the fae entered the place for the first time. They had been exposed to the place the most before entering. Physically that is, Kelso and Tyrell still didn't quite understand how they dreamt of the place, they didn't put much weight on it. There was no point pondering if you're not going to get answers.
"Wow!" Landso looked like a child who had just seen a candy shop for the first time, he ran around the place looking at the symbols and the animals. He was mumbling to himself questions about the place. Questions such as How did the animals survive? Do the plants grow? Are they edible? He nearly reached for a piece of fruit to take back and experiment on, though decided against it. in case nature got angry for benign taken from, wouldn't be the first time.
The other two new fae just wandered around the place , being extremely careful not to disturb anything. THey had been told about corroding water, they were hesitant to touch anything in fear it would have any destructive power.
The two couples and Addamak just sat in the middle of the place, where laylian and kelso sat before the needle fell into the water. They thought they had seen every inch of the place. There was not much more to see. Sylvester was greeting the trees and animals, asking if anything had happened since they were last there. He didn't get much responses from them, he had never gotten good responses from them. It was like he could talk to them but they were too stubborn to talk back, which was odd for a dark fae since they could usually make anything talk to them.
"What if all this is a simulation and we're not actually here and what we're doing is for nothing?" He had asked Tyrell as he pondered this for a little bit. All he got was a strange look and a shove.
"You've been watching too much television.or internet...i told you not to watch conspiracy theories." Tyrell placed a kiss on Sylvester's forehead which caused them both to smile. It was lovely seeing eachother again and they still hadn't gotten over the fact they were in the same room. They were startled by a sudden and loud voice.
"Oi!" Acheron exclaimed from the far side of the place. "I thought you searched the entire place?" There wasn't much sense of urgency in his voice, he was just naturally loud. Despite that the four in the middle made haste to go and see what was wrong or what he had discovered. Vansila and Landso were already there, being near each other when Acheron made the discovery.
"What is-" Addamak started though his breath was caught in his throat. Before them it seemed as though a panel or door had opened. It was definitely not there before. The twins and their partners had scoured the place for clues several times, it would have been impossible to have missed it .
"H-how?" Kelso stuttered as she weakly pointed her finger, bending her arm at the elbow. "Why now?" she didn't believe much in fate, it was more of Tyrell's thing. This made her think overwise. It felt like the place was alive again. The dark brown seemingly tree-like walls had opened up . There was something which wasn't there before.
Riddles, many different riddles. It was like they were carved deep into the walls. At first glance nothing stood out , except for one of the riddles. It was glowing , a bright violet. It wasn't immediately obvious what it wasm though th ecolour matched rather perfectly with the eye symbol.
