Chapter 41
"Are we going back?" Tyrell asked hopefully as he clasped a cup of tea. There wasn't many dishes in Adams' small house and so they had to share, they could have made new dishes from thin air.The fae decided that it would be much more efficient to save their energy for thinking and planning. "If we find these things sooner rather than later, wouldn't it be best?"
"Though do we know where these objects may be?" Adam asked sensibly , he had decided to ignore the idea of learning who the gatekeepers are for now. He had figured it was one or more of the four in front of him. He just didn't know who. "I doubt any old items would work!" It was with a slight boast he said this , the tone seemingly irritating Laylian.
"Actually." Laylian exaggerated. "We figured one of them out ourselves, the eye..."Laylian had another moment of thanks that she didn't actually have to touch an eyeball. "My needle fell into the water and the eye symbol activated." The recollection of what happened made Adam blush in embarrassment.
"Ah well...you must have forgotten to tell me-"
"Oh we told you alright Adam-" Kelso smiled teasingly, knowing exactly how Adam got when he was proved wrong. "We told you several times about the symbols and the needle, especially when we went there to see it. You asked -" She positioned her hands in air quotes "- 'how come the eye symbol was activated ?' " The imitation was shocking, it was so bad it was funny. "Then we told you exactly what happened."
"Ah yes i remember that too!" Sylvester joined in with a grin on his face. It was fun to mess with Adam after the tenseness he had felt around the fae. "It was glowing so brightly it could not be ignored, we mentioned the story in great detail, even telling you the state of Tyrell's trousers!" He gave a smirk and a wink towards Tyrell who opened his mouth in shock.
"Hey!" Was joined by a small shove. "Though yes we should know if we're going back...we should also call Nanna and explain that everything is alright." His face turned to one of word. "Though how could we move between the dimensions? We can't keep a portal open in case somebody finds it." He ran his hand through his hair in frustration.
"Well you do not need to keep one open." Addamak stands up and crosses his arms. "As long as you are careful where they are made and have a fae with you then you should be able to get here. They are rather useful for getting out of ...sticky situations." He sounded as though he had a lot of experience with 'sticky situations' . It was something the teens skipped over, it didn't go unnoticed by them.
"So ...in theory we could open one anywhere?" Laylian asked hopefully. She hadn't wanted to return to the fae dimension since she got to the human dimension. Knowing now that it was a possibility she could jump between them, it excited her. She would be able to see her parents and her family more often,
"Yes of course," Adam seemed puzzled as to why it hadn't been brought up before. "Ah i see! You're a smart cookie you are!" He laughed joyfully. "You mut have gotten that from me i bet!" He clapped a hand on her shoulder. "The reason that Nero cannot get somebody to create a portal for them is because it must have good intentions! You must want to travel for a good or valid reason, this reason is analysed by the guardian- or Neireith."
There were a lot of acknowledging noises around the teens. It made sense, it was rather understandable now how they were able to visit the human dimension at that time and why only the fae could make the dimensions. "What are we waiting for? Lets go-" Kelso started to say as she stood up though she was pulled gently back by Laylian.
"So our plan is just to go back and activate them all?" Laylian questioned looking all of them in the eye. "That was the plan weeks ago.We haven't gotten very far with it...perhaps we should just experiment with things? Use our logic and see if it matches? Surely nothing bad could happen if we get it wrong."
"Actually...what would happen if we do it wrong?" Tyrell inquired. "We haven't really gotten it wrong at all, we've only seen a few things go into the water and disintegrate, Surely nothing disastrous would happen if we threw something in which wasn't right?" Four sets of eyes looked to Adam as his stared back at them,
"Don't look at me...I am not the holder of all knowledge...though we should pay them a visit at one point if we get stuck." The human's eyes filled with interest and shock at the fact there was somebody who was called 'the holder of all knowledge' but they were even more shocked that the other fae didn't seem surprised. Tyrell had skimmed over this when he was reading about the lore.
"Yeah there's someone who knows everything..." Sylvester muttered as he saw the humans' questioning faces. " We can't' really talk to them, we don't' know where they are. We just know that they're secluded and that they don't like to talk to people." He explained carefully, awaiting to be interrupted at any point with more info on the person . "Though I do not blame them, i'm sure that they would get bothered to no end . "
Tyrell flinched at the thought of knowing everything and the amount of pressure that would put on someone. The whole idea of knowing everything was something interesting, would they know the future? Would they be able to see all the possible endings to the world? Or do our choices really mean anything? Is fate just set in stone? Tyrell had to shake his head to get the thoughts out of his mind,
"Hey!" A young voice was heard from the trees. "You're not leaving without us!"
