chapter 36

Chapter 36

It was late the next morning when Tyrell and Laylian were sat in the room Tyrell was offered. They had gotten to know each other quite well over the past few days. Since nothing interesting or unusual was happening , the fae's favourite thing to do was ask about the human dimension or get to know Tyrell.

Though they were still looking into the myths surrounding Nero, they couldn't find much more then the book they had found. It was too obscure. The myth wasn't mentioned anywhere else in the entire library. They looked throughout the entire library, all five of them ignored what they were supposed to be doing and looked through the books for hours on end, just chatting.

Everyone was now aware of what they had all heard and experienced. Laylian got a few whacks from her brothers and Vansilla for being kidnapped . They each gave her a very stern scolding. They made sure that there was no way their parents could work that out. Or else Laylian would not be able to leave the castle ever again.

Laylian had just finished some of her classes with her mother and so she wanted to retrieve Tyrell who was standing looking out of the window. He wasn't allowed to leave the castle at all. He had to avoid other fae at all costs. That meant staying in his room unless he was escorted by one of the royal family, or Laylian, mostly Laylian. She had taken responsibility for him, she trusted him to be sensible but she couldn't get around her mother's rules.

"Good lesson?" Tyrell asked as she came up behind him, her mood had significantly changed since she arrived. She was no longer bubbly or happy . She wore long whtie dresses which meant she had to be careful with everything she did. Her hair was always in a tight bun , to the point it almost caused her too much pain with the amount of pins used to hold it in place.

Laylian sighed and unpinned several pieces of hair. "What gave you the impression it was anything but fantastic?" The sarcasm which dripped from her words mae Tyrell smile, it reminded him of his sister and Sylvester. They tended to lean more towards the sarcastic side of the spectrum . whilst himself and Laylian were a little calmer and down to eart. Though this was a different earth to what he was used to.

"You do not seem too pleased-"Tyrell was interrupted by the door opening quietly and clicking shut. The sound was enough to capture their attention and so they turned, almost in unison . Before them stood Addafor with a stoic look on his face.

"Good afternoon." He bowed his head in respect to them both with a slight smile, though despite the appearance of the smile he still had the stoic look. "I have a job for both of you." His eyes travelled from Tyrell to Laylian "both of you, outside of the castle." His tone was one which made it seem like he had told them the happiest of news in the world.

"A job?" Laylian asked skeptically. She knew that they were under strict orders to stay in the castle, even though Tyrell hadn't outright been told. It would be safer if no other fae knew a human was there or else they would panic. The rulers have already told them that they were working on something which caused the illusion of a human presence. It was stirring chaos and it had only been a day or so. "What kind of job?"

"I want you to meet someone." He said rather quickly , it was almost too quick once again.Tyrell was starting to pick up on Addafor's nervous habits, some of which his daughter also showed. "I will accompany you of course, for safety." His eyes travelled back to the door for a moment. "Let's not tell your mother about it..." That made Laylian raise an eyebrow.

She trusted her father, he was the one who helped her escape to the human dimension in the first place. That was against her mother's wishes so it wasn't' the first time he had went against her. "Who is it?" Tyrell didn't have the confidence to talk to Addafor, Laylian then took it upon herself to be the one to gather the information, this was the case whenever her parents or the royals spoke.

"No time to explain, get ready." He nodded again to them both before flashing a smile and heading back out the door. Laylian and Tyrell shared a look. The look said 'i suppose we have to do as he says' and was accompanied by an eye roll. Laylian quickly excused herself and went to get changed. She was extremely excited to see some jeans on her bed and a plain white t-shirt. The shirt had a dove embroidered on the front, it was rather beautiful .

She felt like it was more of a shirt, it was a sign of freedom. So with a bounce in her step she got changed and returned to Tyrell, who had not changed at all. He wore almost the same, jeans and a white shirt. It was comfortable attire , something appropriate for whatever Addafor had in store.

"Any ideas of who this is?" Tyrell asked as they walked side-by-side. They didn't know where to meet Addafor and so they suspected they would go to the exit. The back exit where Addafor helped Laylian escape.

"None whatsoever. It's odd." They reached the end of the corridor and stood facing each other on opposite walls. The lighting made the highlights of Laylian's hair stand out and brought a sparkle to Tyrell's eyes. "I do not see why father must keep this a secret. Nor do i know who on earth we could be seeing." The small from which was almost constantly on Laylian's face deepened. "I suppose we will find out soon."

"That is correct." The voice made them both jump, they turned to see Addafor. He looked more intimidating than ever with his dark hood covering his face. He looked like somebody Tyrell would see in a video game, am assassin or a spy. "Shall we go?"
