chapter 33

Chapter 33

"They went to the castle." Sylvester said after a few moments of Kelso and Adam standing awkwardly behind him. "Apparently it was Laylian's family who had come to our dimension." Kelso didn't let it go unnoticed that he had said 'our' dimension instead of the human dimension, though she decided to let it go . There were more important things to worry about.

"So...are we heading to the castle now?" Kelso asked eagerly as she jumped from one foot to another. It was hard to decipher if she was excited about seeing the castle or Laylian and Tyrell again. "That's where i really wanna go , though i'll leave it up to you two."

She showed her palms as a sign or surrender. She wished that she knew the place better and could understand everything which was going on. Though some of it went straight over her head. She knew that she would have headed straight to the castle, ran to find Laylian and Tyrell, then head straight back out without thinking.

"No." Adam said firmly as he placed a comforting hand on Kelso's shoulder , which Sylvester watched carefully. "We should wait until daylight. It would be a lot easier to get into the castle that way, there will be less guards." The other two wanted to know how on earth Adam would know this."i'm sure you will find out soon enough, I will let it come as it does."

Kelso rolled her eyes but smiled slightly before turning back to sylvester. "Did your...tree friend see if they were hostile? I know you said it was their family but...Ty is human." Sylvester simply turned hs head towards the tree which he was previously muttering to and shaked his head. "Well i suppose that's a good thing."

"We'll go and stay where i used to live..."Adam muttered to himself as his eyes were trained on the ground. "It shouldn't be too far away from here, though I doubt it has been looked after."He hoped that the dark fae hadn't found his home and decided to live there. It would be rather annoying to get rid of them.

"Far from here?" Sylvester questioned as Adam led the two of them in a random direction. "Here is rather familiar to me so unless it is extremely well hidden I doubt it is intact." He couldn't help but be pessimistic at this point. Tyrell and Laylian brought so much life into his heart, being without both of them was driving him slightly insane. Keeping Kelso safe was practically his only anchor.

"So we're going to a place in the middle of a random forest?" Kelso questioned as she stopped for a moment, her arms dangling by her sides as she looked to her companions. Her face was of one asking a person if they are joking or not. "Wonderful.." Her frown deepened as she trudged , she grabbed a hold of Sylvester's hand. His first instinct was to pull back out of shock and unfamiliarity. He managed to resist and rationalised it . It would make it a lot safer for Kelso to travel if she was with him.

After about a half hour of walking in mostly silence they had come upon a river. The river was quite a good landmark for Adam to be able to find his home. It had been a while since he had lastivisited and his memory was not what it used to be. Though he was still highly skilled in looking after people and he still had all his powers intact.

"This place has changed so much." Adam frowned as he looked at the twigs and dead plants on the floor. He could see his small house just up ahead and started to speed up. "We're nearly there!" Though it was only a light jog it helped them get to the front door in no time. "It seems untouched."

They were all eager to get within some walls , Adam conjured up a key and sued it to open the door to the small house. It wasn't too small in Kelos's opinion, it was a rather comfortable looking house with enough room to move in. It led straight to the river and she could only imagine what it would be like in the summer time with lush green grass and waking up to birds chirping each morning.

It seemed like one of those log cabins that had no water or electricity which you could rent in the middle of the forest in order to get away from your busy everyday life. It was rather peaceful despite it being in the woods and surrounded by dark fae. It would not have been surprising if Kelso and Sylvester found out there was some sort of warding put on the place which kept worries at bay.

"We shall stay here for the night, and then we shall head to the castle in the morning." Adam reassured the other two. "Tyrell will be alright, I promise. If anything he's staging in the castle waiting for them to return him to the human dimension." His words had little to no comfort at that point. It had been too long since they had seen Tyrell and Laylian. They just had to see them to be reassured, to get the comfort that they needed. "The bed's over there-'' Adam pointed towards a single bed in the corner of the room. Right next to it was a rather wonderful window seat.

"They've been missing for nearly twenty four hours." Sylvester tried to reason. "Would it not be best if we went straight to the castle?" He couldn't' keep still. He was on edge and every sound would make him jump, it didn't help that he could hear all the nature which surrounded them, most of the nature was in pain or dying .It did nothing to improve his mood.

"No."Adam said almost too quickly. He cleared his throat and closed his eyes for a few seconds. "I...have dealings here before we visit the castle. It is confidential but the success of this may have a great effect on what happens with your human friends." His gaze wandered to Kelso as he spoke directly to Sylvester. "I wish what is best for us all, no matter how...unpleasant my dealings are..."
