chapter 32

Chapter 32

It was a few hours after the five of them had read the myths and legends surrounding the place and the split of the dimensions. They were absorbing all the information that they could like a sponge, they all had different reasons in doing so . The boys and Vansilla each wanted to prove themselves to be useful to their parents, Laylian wanted to get back to the human dimension safely and Tyrell wanted to return to his home. Though they all knew that defeating the darkness would be their major motivation in doing something so dangerous.

"What are we going to do with this information then?" Landso asked as he tapped his chin, it was nearly midnight at that point. They had all given up on someone coming to tell them to go to bed. They were all exhausted and wanted to sleep, the temptation to figure out a plan was just too tempting.

"We don't need one." Acheron pushed in. "We should just tell our parents and then let them sort it out, like adults are supposed to do." Laylian and Vansilla gave a scoff at that. Adults are smart and their parents had much more experience then they did, but they wouldn't do anything. For all they know their parents could have all this information. "What?"

"Well for one, it's not like you to suggest that." Vansilla started as she looked at her friend skeptically. That was true, Acheron wasn't the kind of person to push his problems or issues onto other people, especially if it meant he would have the ability to prove himself to someone. He was someone who wanted adventure, especially adventure outside of the castle walls."Secondly we would get in a whole load of trouble if they know we've been doing this research for no reason."

"Vansilla is correct." Laylain announced. "Our parents would have a fit if they knew we know this. So we'll just keep it secret for now, we have more pressing matters." She looked everyone straight in the eyes. "We need to do this ourselves and stop it before they find out, there is no coincidence that we found that place." She then looked towards the clock and stood up. "Though it is getting rather late, we should retire to our rooms..." There was a series of groans from the other three fae which caused her to sigh. "Tyrell please follow me."

They received some quiet 'goodnights' as they exited the room. The library was not too far away from their bedrooms and so it was a simple and short walk along the corridor. "Sorry about this." Laylian told Tyrell as they passed painting after painting. "I wish i could say it wasn't like this a lot but i don't want to lie to you. This is a perfect example of our daily life here."

"Like this?" Tyrell pointed backwards to the way that they came. "You would just be left in there for almost a full day by yourselves?" His eyebrows furrowed as he huffed. "I would say i know the feeling of being placed in one spot and told what to do but at least we had our cousins with us." Tyrell knew that Laylian didn't have the easiest life, despite being of noble blood. He didn't expect something this extreme.

Laylian nodded as they stopped outside of a door. "Speaking of, I would love to meet them one day." She gave a shaky smile as she gestured to the door. "This is where you will be staying, my room is just at the end of the hallway-" She pointed to their right. "It isn't much, it is technically supposed to be where the servants sleep."

Laylian felt bad that this was alls he could offer the person who had helped her to settle into the human dimension. It was better than the dungeons she supposed but it was nothing in comparison to what she would like to give him.

Tyrell wasn't expecting much as he opened the door, having been told it wasn't much to look at . However as he stepped inside he almost fell to his knees. It was nothing in comparison to Laylian's room or the library , but it was still probably bigger than Hazel's house. "Oh my gosh."

Laylian looked at Tyrell's expression and reality came crashing down on her, this was something impressive to Tyrell as he hadn't seen or experienced anything like it. She recalled the size of the houses she had seen and visited, her own home in the human dimension. They were all much smaller than what she was used to. It brought a sad smile to her face as she missed her home and felt rather sympathetic for the humans.

It was like an entire hotel room, complete with bathrooms and kitchen. Tyrell could even consider it being a dining room since three was a lovely table in the corner. There wasn't anything in the kitchen cupboards, or the fridge since nobody was staying there , or at least as far as anyone was aware. The place was still rather shocking.

As Tyrell entered the royal blue room His eyes caught the magnificent chandelier which was hanging front he centre of the room. It twinkled on as he passed the threshold of the dark oak doorway and illuminated the room. The bed was at least a king sized and was covered in silver sheets.

The window which was directly opposite the door was massive and held a fantastic view over the town, the street lights looked like beautiful stars int he streets as he was now allowed to dwell in the beauty of the place before him. There were little to no lights coming from the houses saved for something which looked like a particularly busy pub, thugh it had more of a tavern aesthetic. Tyrell wondered if that was the future of pubs int he human dimension.

"It's rather odd isn't it?" Laylian asked as she met with Tyrell near the window and they both stared down. "Seeing the differences between the dimensions?" She received a humm in response from Tyrell, he was watching a couple exit from the tavern, they were both female and exchanging kisses every now and then. Tyrell gave a small smile at the sight, there was no fear int heir eyes at all and nobody seemed to question it. "Once we get this sorted...it'll all change."

"For the better I hope." Tyrell broke away from the window and looked towards his friend. "When this is over it will be strange and unusual, there may not be a barrier or it might still be there, we don't know what will happen but no matter what we'll get there. We'll get to our home wherever that may be or whoever that may be."
