Chapter 30
Laylian had quickly shook Tyrell awake as she looked through the pages as quickly as she could. Tyrell was rather confused as his eyes opened. He had managed to convince himself that it had all been a bizarre dream and that he would wake up in Hazel's house. Though he didn't feel the warmth of Sylvester as he started to come to consciousness, that was a big sign that he wasn't home.
"hmm?"He muttered as he looked around, the rows and rows of bookshelves were enough to tell him exactly where he was. He groaned as he sat up , rubbing his shoulder from where he was sleeping on the floor. "How long was I asleep?"Laylian seemingly ignored him as she just kept reading, the grin on her face was somewhat concerning . "Laylian?" ##
"I'm not sure an hour or so it doesn't matter, you did it!" The volume of Laylian made the three who were sitting at the table rather curious, they all stood up, almost in unison, and made their way to where the two were. "You found it. Why didn't i think of looking in here?" She was beginning to mumble to herself, Nobody knew what on earth she was talking about.
"The human found what?" Acheron said as he strode closer and attempted to rip the bookout of her hands, she was quick enough to avoid hsi snatch as she spun around and headed back to the table. Those who had just left the table huffed in annoyance as they had to walk back. Landso Had stopped for a moment to help Tyrell get to his feet, which got him a very polite 'thank you' in return.
"He found the answers!" Laylian offered no new information to the other four. They all shared confused looks, they were mainly directed towards Tyrell, who shrugged in response . "honestly?" Laylian didn't understand what was so confusing. "I guess the adults really didn't tell you anything. He found the answers , or some of them, to what is happening in the human dimension""
"Shh." Landso loudly shushed his sister."If the adults know that we know, we'll get in a world full of trouble." He sat back and crossed his arms. "They've tried so hard to keep this a secret from us and the people of the town. They wouldn't want us ruining that."
"Don't be daft." Acheron almost barked at his brother. "This is the chance we have to show our parents that we aren't as stupid and as powerless as they think we are." The hurt in his tone didn't go unnoticed by those who surrounded him , "if we work this out, we will prove ourselves worthy of our future, of anything. We will get much better things to do than sitting in a library and doing nothing but gain headaches."
"You both have great points boys." Vansilla interrupted "though we should keep this a secret until we actually figure this thing out. Then we can aid or help our parents with it if we have to." There was no room of argument as her tone was firm and final. "Laylian please explain what Tyrell had found."
Laylian grinned at the professional tone of her friend. "He found the story of the place that we found in the human dimension." It piqued the interest of everyone at the table. It was finally the answer that they were looking for.
"Well then what does it say?"
"I'm reading it." Laylian huffed "you all have eyes too, it's not exactly out of your sights." It seemed that the time in the human dimension was enough for to bring out her true colours. The calm and patient Laylian who was conditioned to be polite and quiet had been replaced by someone who is louder and more fun. "So far we know all of this."
"We don't." Acheron muttered and crossed his arms. Since they had come back to the fae dimension Laylian was quiet. She had given a brief overview of what they found but she didn't go into too much detail, not being in the mood to talk very much. "So please do us the great honours of reading to us""
Laylian would have been annoyed if she wasn't used to it, she used to read to her brothers and Vansilla a lot when they were younger. They spent the majority of their time together surrounded by tons of books, so instead of reading what they were supposed to Laylian would read storybooks to them. "Fine, but you better stay quiet and listen."
"One moment." Landso stood up and looked out of the door, there was nobody in his line of view and so he quickly took the key from the top of the door and locked it."there we go." He returned to the quizzical look of his friends. "If we're going to do this without getting caught or into trouble . we have to not get caught." Laylian nodded and started reading.
"A long long time ago there were stories, prophecies that everyone would base their yearly activities around. The prophecies told of greatness and terror, of dreams and nightmares. This prophecy was of both.
It told the tale of a dark fae who wished to rise up above all species' . To grow powerful and lead the world. It was a simple prophecy which told of the terror and loss of many human and fae lives. Though nobody expected The reaction of the recipient of the prophecy.
The prophecy was recited to Neireith. He was a rather old fae, a very wise man who had just welcomed his new daughter into the world. He was settled and calm, he had lost his wife a little while ago and so it was just him and his baby daughter. Life was hard for them but they could manage.
That was until he realized that his daughter had dark hair, dark eyes and could not progress in her studies. Though he knew his daughter was a dark fae , he did not care. He loved her no matter what, he had treated her like every other fae would treat their daughter. This was where it all went wrong.
They knew that they were not the same as everybody else and so they researched, studied and they worked to find out what they are. When they did find out however. That was when the nightmare began.
They started to neglect the other fae, those who used to call them a friend were now shoved to the side or manipulated. They started to recruit other dark fae and persuading them to work to overthrow the fae and rule over the humans. They started to call themselves Nero and thus the prophecy began.
The war between the fae and the dark fae began with the humans as the pawns and victims. It was exactly like the prophecy had stated which Neireith had listened to many years prior. Only those who were to play a large roll int he prophecy could hear them and therefore he knew exactly what to do.
He gave up his life.
He gave up his life so that the fae and the humans could live in separate spaces. Though this did not go exactly who he had planned. In order to do this he had to make some sacrifices, he lost his home and the key, he lost the knowledge from the books he had read, he lost his loyal friends , he lost his sight and he lost his heart among many other things.
It is now said that if these things are returned to him that the fae dimension and the human dimensions will collide. There would be another chance for the three species to coexist once again. There would be a chance for peace."
