Chapter 3

The four of them had to rush to school that morning , They weren't late, which was very lucky. The first two hours of school went as smooth as school usually goes, nothing standing out to them much as they did their work distractedly.

It was during breaktime when the four of them got to breath and relax from the hurting of the morning to the stress which came with school work. Though they didn't get much of a breath as John ran up to them in the library.

"Hey! I-uh..." John seemed to have lost all confidence in himself as he stammered and stuttered. Lily was behind him as she usually was but even she seemed more confident then john in that moment.

Kelso blinked a few times before offering a small smile "is everything okay?" She asked kindly after wat they had seen at Bryan's table last week they were a bit concerned for the boy and the small group who seemed to rebel against their leader.

"I-uh I mean-Devi- We were wondering-" John stuttered even more as he looked at the kind faces of the almost strangers in front of him. If it wasn't for them he wouldn't have noticed how bad Bryan was , sure he had a bad reputation, but he didn't think that outright threatening people was something Bryan would do. He was manipulated just as they were and it took him this long to figure that out.

"Can we sit with you at lunch?" Lily said , summoning the bravery and words she seems too scared to use whenever she was in the presence of Bryan. She knew he wasn't there, but she looked over her shoulder anyway. Lily felt like she was betraying the group, but then again she didn't have much loyalty to them in the first place. She was only there for John.

"We'd love to." Sylvester said which caused everyone to look at him. It was out of character for Sylvester to be so open and willing to make friends. However he had hopes that this wouldn't be so bad. The two of them had done nothing to him. He could tell they had good intentions, there was no hesitance that would suggest that they were doing it with bad intent. Lily's character seemed too innocent to be a part of anything negative.

"Really?1" john asked excitedly as he seemed to vibrate with happiness and relief. "That's great." John's tone was almost dreamy as he looked at the last person who he expected to say yes to them.

"Really!" Laylian replied with the same happiness and surprise that the others held. She didn't expect Sylvester to chirp up either but she was happy he did. Sylvester did seem a lot more hesitant and reluctant to interact with people then Laylian had expected him to be. It wasn't an issue nor was it unreasonable. It was just saddening.

The four could see the siblings silently cheering even though they tried to act professional. The two bid them a farewell and the four watched as Lily skipped and John punched the air in happiness.

"Wow sylvester!" Laylian said happily as she clapped her hands with a bright smile. "that was oddly social and kind of you....not that you aren't always kind...it's just unlike you!" Sylvester had given her a rather insulted look which caused her to try and save face. Sylvester wasn't very sociable but he was rather kind and Laylian knew that, she just hasn't been seeing it much .

"Don't listen to her silv." Tyrell siad with a warm smile. "She's doing a kelso and speaking before she thinks." Kelso was going to retort back to Tyrell but she knew better of it. Therefore Kelso just huffed and crossed her arms. "What a bad influence you are little squirrel!" Tyrell teased more as he stood up.

"You're one to talk, brother." Kelso muttered behind her twins back who turned around with a smile. This nearly caused Tyrell to walk into the door if it wasn't for Sylvester walking in front of him and opening it before his face made contact with the whtie wood.

This action caused Kelso to laugh loudly, which in turn caused everyone to laugh. Tyrell gave an embarrassed chuckle and Sylvester laughed under hsi breath. Laylian gave a slight giggle as Kelso leaned on her for support.

They only had one more lesson before lunch time. The four of them were a little less amused after they were given a rather large stack of homework to do before the next week. Though their moods significantly brightened as they were joined by four other people.

"Hey guys!" Devin said eagerly as she sat down with her tray of food. "Thanks for letting us sit with you. It's getting a bit awkward over there. " she pointed right over to Bryan's table where only four people sat. Laylian deemed it socially unacceptable to scold her for pointing and so she decided to let it slide for now, though the attention it brought didn't please any of them.

Eden politely put Devin's arm down as she smile politely at the four who were originally sat at the table. "Yeah it's a bit tense over there..." Eden slightly nodded her head towards the table, a lot more subtle then Devin had. "We don't know what happened but Bryan doesn't seem to be happy..."

Since she pointed it out it was very clear to the four that she was in fact correct. Though most of them were trying to avoid thinking of the betrayal that happened not too long ago. None of them had really forgiven the group for what they did, save for Devin and Eden. Even then a few of the group were still on edge.

When Sylvester looked over to Bryan's table he almost immediately met gazes with Bryan. Bryan was slowly simmering with anger. Anger because in his eyes, the four newbies had stolen his people from him. Bryan had created a reputation for them all and the four new people came in and ruined it. He was even more upset about the fact he had other things to worry about.

That morning he had confronted Erin, wondered what happened the other night when he found himself in someone's back garden. She played clueless , she acted as though she had no clue what happened or why he ended up in a garden. Little to Bryan's knowledge, she wasn't playing clueless at all. It had nothing to do with her. But it still had him wondering , if Erin is going to play clueless. Who else could it have been?
