chapter 28

Chapter 28

They were thrown in the library. It was as simple as that. Even though they now know that there is evil in the human dimension and that they had a human with them, it didn't matter. None of it mattered. The four nobles were expected to study and work just as they did before Laylian left. Tyrell was put under Laylian's watch and so he was also forced to stay in the library.

Tyrell didn't mind that fact what-so-ever. He wanted to be home with Kelso, Sylvester, Laylian and Hazel. He wanted to have his somewhat normal life back. Though if there was any place he would have loved to visit in the fae dimension it would have been the library.

"So is it this then?" Acheron said grumpily. He was saddened that they had to go back to their regular lives. They weren't being told anything at all about the threat to the human dimension. It was expected of them to just live as they usually did. If the threat wasn't upon them then it didn't concern them, at least that was how the rulers saw it.

"What did we expect?" Landso said doubtfully as he turned the page in the book he was reading. He was fact checking all the information they had about the human dimension and writing in the margins the facts and things he had found. It was rather interesting to see how the dimension had changed since the fae last recorded details, it was even before the time the humans had invented cars and busses. "We got our hopes up and they were somewhat crushed."

"Somewhat crushed?" Vansilla hissed quietly. "We had our hopes and our hopes plummeted to the ground so hard that they were shattered into billions or zillions of pieces . Pieces so small that we can't even see them anymore and we are breathing them in because they are now finer than dust." She then nodded in thought , though there was some sass and annoyance in her eyes, "though yes somewhat crushed works too."

Laylian had kept quiet and to herself during the conversation, Out of all the fae who were at the table she had her hopes the highest, she had seen and experienced the most. She was missing the human dimension myesm but she also missed the humans who she had become close friends with. Even saying that she missed Kelso would be an incredibly large understatement. Laylian missed her smile and her laugh. The fact that she sometimes bit her fingernails or moved her food around on her plate, She missed the excited and quick way that she talked,

Tyrell was far back in the library. He was looking for books about the past of the human dimension as well as Ladnso. However he was looking at the more mythological and legendary tales. He wanted to know if they mentioned anything about the place, if there was anything in the stacks and stacks and rows and rows of books that could help them figure out the place.

He groaned several times to himself that they still haven't figured out a name other than 'the place'. They couldn't' think of something to call it , though there are many many different places mentioned in the literature of the fae dimension. There were mountains and beautiful meadows mentioned in the books that he had found, though none described something as glorious as the place in the human dimension.

"We proved ourselves to be quick thinkers. We have proved we can look after ourselves and yet we are still stuck here." Acheron continued to rant as his brother rolled his eyes. The girls at the desk had stayed silent, both seemingly seething with anger. Vanilla enjoyed the experience she had with the human dimension, it was something different to the castle walls that she had grown up in.

There had been about an hour since the four of them talked at the table, they were focusing on the work that they were expected to do. None of them knew why any of it was relevant to ruling the town or advising royalty. Though they supposed that it wasn't relevant at all. They were just sent to the library with random books to read in order to get them out of their parent's way.

Laylian had kept an eye on Tyrell at first, though when he had went out of her sight, she didn't really worry about him. It was a simple library full of nothing but books and tables with only one door. There was no way he could get himself into trouble there. Which is probably why they were there so often.

Time was ticking on as they worked and worked, they were starting to become rather hungry. They hadn't eaten since they got back and they had hardly eaten anything before they ventured back to the fae dimension. They could make something to eat but they knew it wouldn't be worth it.

"Do you think they forgot about us?" Vansilla asked as she looked at the clock on the wall and held her growling stomach. They were usually brought food so that they could eat and study at the same time. Though there were also occasions where they were asked to have dinner with their parents in a more formal dining table.

"It wouldn't be the first time." Landso muttered as he snapped out of his concentrating daze. He took his reading glasses off and rubbed his eyes. With his hand still on the bridge of his nose he opened one of his eyes and looked around the room. "Laylian?" He asked curiously, watching her red rimmed eyes staring at her book "Laylian!" Landso nudged her with his elbow which caused her head to snap up and for her to hum in acknowledgment. "Where's the human?"

Laylian's head turned in the directions that she saw him Last and she stood up. Nobody followed her as she walked through the forest of bookshelves. She looked down each and every row of shelves until she saw a foot sticking out of the end of a shelf. Laylian quickly walked to the foot to find it attached to Tyrell.

Tyrell was sprawled out on the floor, he seemed completely shattered. Though Laylianw as sympathetic to him, there was a stack of books beside home which she knew she would need to put back. They were luckily all from the same shelf and were rather easy to place back. She was about to pick up and put away the open book which was in front of Tyrell. THat was before she saw what was on the page.

The book itself looked just like any other regular book. It has a plain green cover with gold writings on the front and the spine. It seemed to be an extremely old book as the writing on the front had faded quite a bit. The book seemed to be worn in as the spine was cracked and there were some pages which were folded and ripped. The book was full of myths and landmarks.Though on the page Tyrell was looking at there were symbols
