Chapter 25

There was a moment of silence in Laylian's room as they all froze. They weren't exactly sure if they had heard the knock on the door but there was no mistaking it. The person didn't knock again but they knew that they had been heard. The humans stared back and forth, not wanting to see who it was. They weren't expecting anyone, other than Hazel nobody knew where they lived.

"Were you expecting anybody at this time?" Eden asked quietly. Her question was pointed towards Sylvester but he didn't move one bit. The reason he didn't move was because of the energy he was feeling. It was something odd.

Kelso was about to comment but before she could Sylvester had jumped up and sprinted down the stairs. He swung the door open and just stood there. What appeared to be a normal human was on the other side of the door, though he knew that whoever was in front of him was anything but human.

"Hello there. You must be Sylvester." The man held out his hand for Sylvester to take but Sylvester made no move to accept the gesture. "My name is Adam, may i come in?" The kind face he'd a smile as he talked politely. He had graying hair and a beard. His crystal blue eyes shone with youth despite the age of his appearance.

"No." Was Sylvester's short answer as his eyes traced every feature of Adam's face. "Who are you?" under any other situation Sylvester would have found a human at his door asking to be let in strange, This was not any other situation and no matter what it seemed Sylvester was not about to let his guard down

"I've told you already, my name is-"

"Adam?" Came a voice from the top of the stairs. The male's eyes were quick to meet Kelso as she started to walk down the steps. "What are you doing here?" She stood behind Sylvester and peaked her head out of the door, seeing Adam's taxi parked neatly on the curb.

"Ah Kelso my girl!" Adam clapped cheerfully "I am so glad to see that you are safe and well." His eyes flickered to Sylvester, who hid his confusion with a scowl. "I was just trying to convince your friend here to let me in." Kelso's eyes went from Adam to Sylvester and back again.

"Why? Kelso asked as kindly as she could, there was no way that Adam would know something about their situation and there was no way that Adan would have known she would be there. That was unless he had been watching her house, in which case that would be incredibly creepy of the taxi driver she had known for the past five years.

"I'm worried about Tyrell dear, I just wanted to make sure that you were both safe." Kelso's eyes narrowed at his words.How would he know that there was something wrong with Tyrell? She knew that he had no interest in the supernatural, every time the twins brought it up he changed the conversation.

"How do you know something was wrong?" Sylvester's quiet voice was sharp as he interrogated the man. "What are you?" The dark fae began to step closer to Adam in an attempt to intimidate, though this attempt seemed to be fruitless.

Adam gave a sigh and held his hands in a pleading position. "Sylvester. " He spoke slowly and calmly "let me in and i shall explain to all of you, even the three who are upstairs deserve to know this." Sylvester held eye contact with Adam for a few moments before sighing and nodding, opening the door wider for the man to come in.

"Only because Kelso knows you." He muttered and made sure that Adam walked in front of him to the living room whilst Kelso ran upstairs to get Dawn, Eden and Devin who were looking around Laylians' room curiously.

"First of all-" Adam started "My name is Addamak." He looked around, expecting his name to have some dramatic effect on the company. Everyone apart from Sylvester and Kelso were confused. Sylvester's facial expressions shifted from confused, to surprised, to aggressive to confused once again. The name sounded rather familiar to him but he couldn't put his finger on it. Kelso knew that the Adam she knew had never been human , there was an extremely limited chance that someone would be called that in the human dimension. It also sounded rather familiar. "Though I do prefer to go by Adam.

"You're a fae aren't you?" Kelso was rather straightforward in ehr questioning , which caused a few people to flinch. Kelso had known Adam for five years . She was slightly hurt by the fact that he had kept this from her but even more so that she hadn't figured out that he wasn't human. He seemed perfectly normal and human when he was doing his job. "I recognise a name similar to that one."

"Wait i'm sorry-" Devin interrupted the conversation and outstretched her arms. "We are a bit behind...who are you? I know we were getting introductions but i feel a little...out of the loop?" Dawn and Eden nodded along with her in agreement. Sylvester couldn't argue, he felt somewhat out of the loop as well , Kelso seemed to know much more about this man theny hay did.

"I was Kelso and Tyrell's taxi driver for the past few years." Adam stroked his beard as he thought back to the times where he would pick the young teenagers up and take them to school and back for several years. "You are rather correct, I am a fae...I chose to leave the fae dimension and live my life as a human a long while ago"

"Fascinating." Dawn said mesmerised Adam was the first elder fae that she had ever seen. Though the aging process of the fae was unbeknownst to her, she could see the features of a fae rather simply in this elderly man. The same light features and air of peace surrounded him that surrounded Laylian.

"Yes I agree that's really interesting but-" Sylvester jumped up from where he was leaning ont he wall. "That still does not explain why you had arrived at my house in the middle of the evening." Kelso watched with a strange sense of pride as Sylvester spoke up.

"Ah yes well..." Adam cleared his throat and coughed a little bit, attempting to avoid Sylvester's gaze. "I know that something big happened here and that Laylian and Tyrell are no longer here...I wanted to help."
