chapter 24

Chapter 24

"What?!" Laylian exclaimed to her father as he started to walk away. The harsh tone of his daughter was making his mask of bravery crack away. He cared for his daughter and truly wished that she would be able to live a safe life in the human dimension. Fate just seemed to have other plans.

Tyrell wasn't sure if he was included in the 'never going back' group but he knew for sure he wasn't going to leave without Laylian. The human dimension was his home and nobody would be able to keep him away from that. Though if he returned to Kelso without Laylian he dreaded to think the heartache that the two would go through, he doubted that Kelso would ever forgive him.

"You heard what he said, Laylain." Landso said with a sympathetic tone , now that she had returned that would mean he had less chance of becoming the advisor for the rulers. He felt sorry for himself and for Laylian. Though he also felt rather bitter over Laylian leaving in the middle of the night.

"Just accept the fact that you're stuck here with the rest of us." Acheron said somewhat harshly which caused Vansilla to scoff at him. He had been hurt the most out of all about Laylian's sudden disappearance. He didn't want the pressure of being the eldest Caileafaq in the fae dimension . It was a big responsibility to be given overnight.

"No, I will not just accept it or deal with it!" Laylian stomped her foot on the floor. "I have a home and I have friends, I was in school , I have a partner who is probably sick with worry!" Nothing that Laylian mentioned was enough for her father to turn around and tell her why she was there. Though he did raise an eyebrow with a small smile on his lips at the mention of a partner. "Besides, Tyrell can't satay here. This isn't his home and he would be in danger.

"Now that is correct..."Addafor turned around and gestured for them to follow. "We shall discuss what is happening back at the castle. For now keep ...Tyrell close to you." Addafor crossed his fingers that he had got the humans name correct, he was terrible at learning names.

So Laylian did just that, she grasped onto Tyrell's hand and led him through the forest. The forest was much prettier and much more fantastic than anything Tyrell had ever seen before. Though he hadn't seen many forests in his lifetime, even though the trees were dying and the leaves were all on the ground , it was still eerie and wonderful. He hoped that he could see a forest in this dimension before he had to go back, or when he could go back to the human dimension.

The castle and the surroundings which lead up to it were even more beautiful. They weren't keen on the idea of walking all the way through town with a human and so they had to sneak up to the castle through the forest. It's not that they were ashamed of having a human with them. They just thought it would be best so that rumours didn't start.

The trip back was lengthened due to this , though none of the fae were particularly eager to talk . Tyrell wanted to ask question after question about his surroundings but he thought it would have to wait.

The castle was a grand structure which towered over the town. It had beautiful shimmery white walls and pillars which were at least three times the height of Tyrell.Even though he had been taken through an alternative route it was still more majestic then anything the human had ever dreamed of.

Laylians' hand tightened around Tyrell's after seeing her home again. The one place she knew and grew up in. The place she used to feel safe and secure, living a little cookie cutter life as next in line. She never thought that she would see the place again. The place where she laughed and giggled whilst dancing with her brothers. The place where she cried int eh corner after hearing the plans that her parents had made for her. She felt like the little dove inside her was put into a cage.

"We shall meet up with your parents in the throne room." Addafor announced to the children who were following him. Tyrell tensed a little bit at the word 'parents' though he knew that his were far away from him. He also had a very nervous feeling about meeting Vansilla's parents. From what he had been told they were the rulers of the place. Even though Vansilla seemed rather nice to him, he knew that parents could be a totally different story.

The walls became darker as they reached the throne room. The plain walls began to be decorated with glorious paintings and hangings. Tyrell recognised some of the people from the portraits, he nearly even stopped at some points as he saw Laylian presented in a much more different light then he had ever seen her in before.

She stood tall and proud next to an intricate carved fireplace. Her hair was in a very elegant looking bun with curls framing her beautifully made-up face. There was rather light make up around her eyes but her lips were painted a bright red. Even though her look was extremely professional she still held a delicateness which Tyrell assumed never left her. She wore a gorgeous dress which fell to the floor. It was almost like a blue ball gown , something that Cinderella would wear for the ball.

Though they were quickly pushed down the hallway and Tyrell didn't have any more time to dwell on the many oil paintings that surrounded him. Tyrell felt extremely out of place here, even though he wore pretty the same as what the other people his age did. He knew that he would be the only human there and that was enough to make him feel like dirt.

They stopped at a set of grand double doors. Addafor told them to wait before he popped his head around the corner. Tyrell could hear a loud conversation happening on the other side of the door which caused all of his company to sigh.

"That's mother..." Laylian muttered to Tyrell. "Don't' let her or Selltresse intimidate you....Vandkin is the intimidating one." Her sentence caused Vansilla to scoff but she didn't argue at all with what Laylian had said. Not long after Addafor returned.

"Right. Come on in.
