Chapter 23

Kelso was cursing her stars that she fell in love with the woman who was the most prone to being kidnapped she had ever met. Hazel had called her, wondering why she had to call Dawn but Kelso was a little too frazzled to come up with comprehensible sentences.

"Nana this is important just call Dawn please, and if you could tell her to come around to Laylian's and Sylvester's house. You might need to give her the address but i don't know how her ...clairvoyance works"

Sylvester wasn't a lot of help at the moment, though he was rather silent and calculating on the outside , on the inside he was screaming and begging for it not to be true. Laylian had been taken before and that time she had been taken by an evil dark fae that wanted to rule over the humans. If this situation was anything close to that one, they were all in danger.

"Okay Nanna, bye love you." Kelso had hung up her phone and walked into Laylians' room, where Sylvester was still crouched next to the old pieces of wardrobe. "Nanna said that Dawn will be here soon, hopefully she has an explanation for all of this." Kelso knew that she would need to try and be strong, but without her twin to lean on for the first time, this was a rather difficult situation.

Sylvester made a noise of acknowledgement, he didn't want to be rude but he was trying to figure out what happened. He didn't sense any dark energy coming from the pieces , he was assuming that if Nero had come then he would have sensed it and still would be able to sense residual dark energy.

The sensation he was feeling was somewhat familiar, as though he had experienced it in a dream or only for a few moments. It was only a ghost of the energy that would have previously been there .Though the energy had only been there a few minutes before Sylvester had reached the house, due to him no longer sensing his best friend and boyfriend.

It wasn't long before someone knocked on the door,Kelso rushed to answer it as she assumed Sylvester would still be sat in the same position. Once Dawn,Eden and Devin were invited into the house they walked upstairs and back to the room where the two had gone missing. Devin had commented a few times about what a fae's home looked like but kelso didn't really have the heart to reply.

It was almost as soon as Dawn reached the doorway she understood. "Ah, i see." Sylvester turned his head at this and watched her with narrowed eyes as she entered. "Do not worry children, i'm sure that this was accidental."She tried her best to sit on the floor but she had to suffice for Laylians' bed instead.

"Could you perhaps...explain what you see?"Sylvester's tone wasn't the nicest but no-one could blame him at the moment. Even Devin and Eden were shaking their head at the ambiguity of Dawn's words.

"I think it's time that i should tell you the rest of the prophecy." Everyone else was looking at her in silence. Some were wondering why she hadn't told them all about it earlier if she had the answers, others were just waiting impatiently .

"Well...so far you know that the gatekeepers will destroy the cause of the dimensions, yes? Several nods were her answer. "Well the entire prophecy is a bit more complicated than that. Though it has been lost in translation over the years. It was originally written well before the dimensions was created."

"Wait the gatekeepers." Kelso positioned herself beside Sylvester whilst still seeming to be on edge. "Do you think that Laylian and Tyrell are the gatekeepers then? Since they were both taken. Her question was one that nobody had thought about since they heard what had happened. It wouldn't have been a bad idea if it were to be the case. It would explain why the two of them were taken.

"I'm not sure sweetie." Dawn fidgeted, she hatred not being certain about something as serious as the situation was. "The prophecy was passed down yes but we know little details about it." The light was dimmin from her eyes but she continued. "The prophecy tells of the gatekeepers , we think that there are two. Who defeats the darkness. The darkest shadow in the universe which caused the dimensions to be created"

"That's what's he called?- Aero?" Eden said timidly as she looked around. This whole situation was still rather unusual for her. Devin kept her arm around her cousin in comfort.

"It's Nero." Sylvester stated with a sigh as he rubbed his forehead. "What are we going to do? It's a portal which means it's probably to the fae dimension...I have no clue how we would be able to get another portal. Only fae can make portals."

"Aren't' you a-" Devin was about to question before Eden gave her a swift jab. Sometimes it's difficult to remember that Sylvester was a dark fae, he didn't at all act like one. Though out of all the time that the girls had known him, he was showing more of his dark fae side then he ever had. His eyes were cold and his tone was dark.

"So only a fae can make a portal huh.." Kelso muttered to herself as she bit her lip. "Is there any way you know a fae? After all you have a lot of information on them. Surely you know one? The question was directed to Dawn who was now fiddling with her fingers.

"well...I know so much from the stories that i have been told throughout my life. Though I do know ...of some fae. I'm not entirely sure where they are." It was true, Dawn knew of many stories of the fae coming to the human dimensions dn coming to live there. She wasn't really close friends to any of the fae she had met through her life. She had also moved around quite a bit , always returning to England but not really knowing a fae from England .

"Surely there-" Kelso was interrupted in the middle of her exclamation by a very loud and very polite knock on the door.
