Chapter 12
The three troublemakers of the fae dimension were running around in Vnsilla's bedroom, having some giggles and laughs before they were expected to be in bed . Their research was put on hold for the evening. They had still wanted to find out what was happening in the human dimension ut they were so tired from their chores and reading that they were too worn out to read one more book that evening.
Though each of them didn't laugh with the same passion that they used to. They each had a weight on their shoulders which seemed to have suddenly appeared. They each had things nagging them . Landso was upset that he knew Acheron would get the role of advisor when they are older simply because of the age gap between them. Acheron was also frustrated that the role was put onto him due to him being older than Landso. Vansilla was stressed because she knew she would need to take over one day and it was a huge responsibility. Each of them had the added pressure of what was happening in the human dimension and the worry about Laylian that it caused.
Landso had quickly calmed his laughter with a troubled look on his face. He went over to Vansilla's bed and fling himself onto it. He muffled his slight scream with the pillows which were on the bed . The other two in the room stared after him, as the bed was all the way on the other side of the room from where he had previously been.
Acheron went over to his brother and copied his position on the bed. "You okay?" He asked with his voice also being muffled by the material that was under them. Vansilla had also joined them at the bed and sat down instead of laying down. She felt like she was interfering in some sort of brotherly moment , though once she remembered the amount of time they had spent together the thought was dismissed.
They had all grown up together. Laylian was like a bigger sister to Vansilla and there was an honest moment in time where Laylian was thought to be the next ruler of the fae dimension, that was before Vansilla was born. The birth of Vansilla meant that the Rayscor bloodline would continue to rule the dimension. As it had for thousands of years.
Time didn't work the same way to the fae as it did for the humans. This was because they knew that they had forever. They weren't immortal , unless the wanted to be, as most of them did . They had the option to grow old like humans did and they had the option to stay young for as long as they liked.
"I'm stressed..." Landso said as he shook his head, though the fabric of the bed restricted this movement. Acheron pulled Vansilla down onto the bed so that she was in a similar position to them , this caused her to giggle happily. The sound was something beautiful to Landso as it brought a smile to his face which no-one could see.
"Me too."Vnsilla's muffled voice said on Landso's right. Acheron was between he two and suddenly felt rather awkward. They had done this man times as children but it never felt as awkward as ti did now. Their feelings for one another had increased as they grew. Acheron was fully away of his brother's feelings for their friend and he felt terrible. This was due ot the plan that had been arranged since their birth. A connecting of the caileafaq and the Rayscor bloodline .
"Me three." Acheron muttered as he slowly slid off the bed so that he was on his back on the floor. He looked at the intricate designs on Vansilla's ceiling as he heard the others shuffle on the bed . He could imagine them cuddling and wished that things could be like they were before, or that he had someone to cuddle at that moment.
The three of them could hear the sound of heels coming closer and closer towards the room and as though by natural instinct the three of them shot up and ran towards Vansilla's desk , where three books lay . They smoothed out the invisible creases in their clothing and they straightened out their hair . They had to look immaculate for when Selltresse entered the room.
They braced themselves by looking busy as the light door to Vansilla's room opened up to reveal the stern ruler. There was a frown on her face and there were a few hairs out of place. Features that were not common on Selltresse.
"Ah children, nice to see you hard at work." Her eyes trailed over to Vansilla's bed which was not as neat as it should have been. She had decided to ignore the fact and divert her gaze directly to the two boys. "Now it's time for you two to go to your separate rooms. Lights out in thirty minutes." Selltresse walked over to her daughter and started to play with her hair. "You all need to get a good sleep tonight. Tomorrow is a very important day."
The three of them felt a spark of interest grow in their stomachs. Vansilla was tempted to mutter 'you say that about everyday' but she knew exactly what the response would be; 'every day is important to the rulers of a dimension.' It was a very frequent conversation between the two of them. The days seem to blend together for all three teenagers, all the facts and history that they have learnt swim int heir heads as it was the main focus of each and every day.
Acheron's curiosity seemed to have gotten the better of him though. "What's happening tomorrow?" He asked as politely as he could. Selltresse tensed up a little bit as she accidentally yanked a little of Vansilla's hair which caused her to let out a yelp.
"We..." Selltresse trailed off a little bit as she tried to figure out the best way to tell this information.A loud sigh escaped her lips. The children had never seen her look so defeated in their lives. If they thought she looked sad when coming into the room it had increased tenfold by now. "Are going on a bit of a trip."
