Chapter 10

Tyrell and Kelso walked slowly to their nanna's house , as slow as they possibly could in order to prolong the inevitable. -It never used to be this way, it was only within the last few years when they wouldn't be running towards the door in hopes of seeing their parents, in hopes that they would get a warm and welcoming hug from the people who gave them life .

The first time the twins had went nearly three months without their parents was when they were around three years old. They were so happy to play with their cousins and just be children but they missed their parents. So when their parents came back for a visit they jumped into their parents arms for a hug , were given a kiss and some kind words before they were left in the kitchen as the adults went into the living room. This kept happening every time their parents came to visit and the twins got used to it. They stopped looking forward to those moments where their parents would come home .

They had rounded the corner and they could see the big camper van outside of Hazel's door, it was big and pink , which took a few weeks for Larraine to convince Oscar to do, and was currently about to knock over a tree . The twins gave out a sigh before they headed inside.

They immediately knew that their parents were in the living room as the scent of smoke and perfume filled their noses . Trying to ignore the voices coming front he living room, they could what their names being mentioned a few times which caused them to flinch now and then.

Kelso entered the room followed by Tyrell, who still had a small frown on his face. They saw their parents sat on one settee whilst Hazel was sat on her chair near the telephone. They were rather timid as they entered the room, knowing what was going to happen.

"Kelso Tyrell! my dears!" Lorraine stood up and gave her twins a hug, kelso was tempted to lean into the hug but her mother pulled away before she had the chance. Oscar stood up as well and shook his son's hand as though they were strangers before giving his daughter a one-armed hug . "How have you both been?"

"We've been good ma!" The two parents had sat back down on the settee and the twins ere left little option but to sit on the floor. The two of them were feeling like children even though they do sit on the floor rather often, they felt rather lonely without their significant others as they were hardly ever apart .

"Oh we're doing rather well! We've been to the races and to the best beaches in england!" The conversation turned to where it usually did, the obsession of travelling was all their parents talked about. Yes it was lovely to hear about but that was literally the topic of every conversation they had.

Even Hazel seemed to be tired at this point "dears how was school?" Hazel asked once her daughter took a chance to catch her breath in the middle of her rambling. Lorraine's cheeks blushed a dark red as she noticed her rambling , her husband had brought it to her attention before they entered the house and so she was rather embarrassed to notice the truth of her rambles' frequency.

"Oh it was rather good." Tyrell stated happily as he remembered the good things that had happened to them that day. "Kelso got an A on that history assignment we were worried about and Sylbester had a really good argument in religious studies about-" Tyrell's eyes shone brightly with joy as he talked about the mundane things. Though this sign dimmed as he was interrupted.

"Oh whose sylvester?" Larainne asked with an interested smile. "Have you got a boyfriend?" Her teasing question was aimed towards Kelso. This was the moment the twins realized that they hadn't actually came out as bisexual to their parents. The thought hadn't really occurred to them until now. They had family who didn't care what so ever, it was how they were brought up by their cousins ; to treat everyone equally no matter their gender or gender orientation. They had no idea what their parents' ideals were.

The twins had shared a startled look before Kelso decided to speak up for the both of them. "No i got a girlfriend- " Kelso said happily and bravely "Tyrell is the one who got a boyfriend" Their parents' eyes widened and their mouths opened in shock., Hazel watched the scene with pride as she mentally cheered her grandchildren on.

"They are such brilliant people too!" Hazel clapped her hands with a fond smile "Laylian has an interest in sewing and Sylvester is so good with nature and plants! They are such kind individuals, we need more people like them you know!" Hazel pointed towards her daughter and her husband. The twins had to admit that it was somewhat intimidating to watch this.

Hazel was the sweetest nanna but she was a rather strict parent, she had hoped that she brought up her daughter in a way where she would also believe in equality and not judge anyone. Though she hadn't seen her daughter in so long and people do change. Along with this she had little knowledge of Oscar, they were a teenage romance and Hazel had only met him twice before the two of them got engaged, which was after Lorraine had fallen pregnant with the twins.

The twins' parents stood up in unison and Hazel's eyes hardened more. The twins nearly crawled backwards out of fear that there may be a sudden outburst. "I-i think we're going to turn in for the night...it's getting rather late." Lorraine said as she hastily walked out of the house whilst Oscar waved a goodbye, she didn't even glance at her children once more before she exited the house.

The amount of disappointment in the house was immeasurable. The twins almost wished that their parents would have shouted and yelled at them instead of somewhat keeping their reactions muted. It was clear that their parents weren't happy with the idea of their children's partners . Though they supposed tomorrow's plans were still going ahead.
