Chapter 1

Everything was perfect.

The day was a long and joyous one for the residents of the Jewlson household. Hazel Jewlson slept quietly in her bed, she had a day of peace and quiet out in the garden , she had done some reading and she had done some baking. It had been a wonderful day for her.

Those who slept in the room across from Hazel were also sleeping happily and peacefully. Tyrell Emberforth slept peacefully beside his boyfriend Sylvester Klesifor. They were happy to lie down after their day of walking, their brains swirling with the new information they had learnt that day and their hearts filled with the love and happiness they had experienced.

Kelso Emberforth slept besides her girlfriend Laylian Caileafaq. Laylians' hair was still a little bit damp from the splashes of water that had hit it not too long ago. Kelso was wrapped in Laylians' arms just as she was not to long ago as they watched the beautiful sunset. Their laughter joining the sea salt that was drifting through the air.

Though in the Jewlson household there held a love, light and happiness that seemed to be radiating and spreading to the neighbouring households, there was a place no such light shone.

In a mansion, not far from the jewlson household, sat Nero. They were sat at their desk with their feet up and their hands clasped together. Their dark eyes were unseeable in the darkness that covered them, their hair hung in front of their face as they thought deeply. They hadn't moved in days, their followers were growing somewhat concerned but they were used to it. They didn't move an inch that night.

These beings are all close to each other. However there are others in the picture who are not so close to the group. In a castle somewhere far far away there was a meeting. A meeting to discuss a very important 'missing' person, though they knew that this person wasn't really 'missing'.

"What do you mean you saw her?" A beautiful yet angry woman interrogated her husband as he stood tall and proud. "She had a role in this family! A goal to accomplish. How could you let this happen? The lady pointed towards her husband who did not flinch at the accusative tone his wife used.

"My dear Laidra I had to." Addafor said calmly "Our little angel wanted to travel and what's the harm in that?" Addafor stared his wife straight in her eyes "it's the human dimension it's far safer there then it is here."

There was hesitance in the woman's eyes as they stared deep into Addafor's , Light eyes clashed with dark as emotions were shared between them, a silent conversation in which Laidra surrendered. "Not anymore" Laidra said as she turned away in shame, it is not usual for the fae to lie or keep secrets . Though an oath between the queen and herself was stronger then her personal beliefs.

Addafor clenched his jaw as he looked from his wife to the others in the room. The ruler of the dimensions looked annoyed at the betrayal of her old friend. Selltresse sat in her throne, twirling a piece of hair between her fingers. She felt sorry for her dear friend Laidra, she knew that if she had to hide something this big from her husband that she would struggle.

"Addafor" Vandkin said as he rose from his own throne. He walked over to the stressed fae and put his hands on his shoulders . "There has been many developments that have needed to be kept behind closed doors. Such as the...issues plaguing the human dimension." The fact that he wasn't given a straight answer was driving Addafor mad.

In an attempt to calm himself, Addafor held his friends hand which still rested on his shoulder before presenting a slight smile. "Please explain this." You could see the anger boiling inside Addafor as he spoke slowly. "What have I let my daughter walk into?"

"It's all very uncertain." Selltresse said, despite knowing it would do little to comfort the worried father in front of her. Addafor's other two children were sat in the corner, pretending not to listen. Acheron and Landso were sat pretending to study with Vansilla.

Vnasilla was Selltresse and Vandkin's daughter who was expected to take over the throne once her parents were no longer fit to rule. She didn't blame Laylian for wanting to leave though she did leave rather abruptly, in the eyes of their mother's at least.

"There was something, a family secret." Selltresse announced to the three adults who were surrounding her. She knew that the children were listening in on their conversation , she had told them this story before but only as bedtime stories.

"There was a prophecy. Long long ago. " The queen started as her husband returned to his seat beside her. "A prophecy that tells of the gatekeepers and an event. An event which will destroy the need for the dimensions in the first place." She spoke loud and proud. None heard her mutter at the end "Hopefully destroying the dark fae"

Addafor still held anger but it was more subdued this time. "Why am i just learning this now? Especially after the majority of you know that she wanted to go to the human dimension." He pointed towards tsoe in the room. "If this thing was dangerous enough to have caused this secrecy then it should have been known and dealt with! Not treated like a myth."

"You don't quite get it do you?" Laidra said sympathetically to her husband. "She should never have gotten to that dimension. It's far too dangerous, that's why it was kept such a secret. The fact that you know this is dangerous. The more people who know the higher the chance it will get spread." Her voice became dark and serious . "The more people who know. The more likely it is they'll know. "
