Chapter 39

As soon as I land, I run to the bathroom to throw up from the nausea of going into the in between without a tether.

He sent me back to the Pack House.

No!

No, no, no!

He never intended on me going into the building with him.

I run out of the room, coughing up blood as I do so.

A pair of hands grabs me by the shoulders.

It's the Delta of Crimson Shadow, Shane.

"Shane," I say in surprise.

"How... How did you know who I am?" he asks in confusion. "Alpha Killian said that you're blind, and we've never met before."

"Shane, please, I have to go to Killian. I have to-"

"Don't worry, Katrina," Shane says calmly. "Alpha Killian will be right back. He told me to make sure you don't go anywhere."

No! He knew I would leave his house again, and sent Shane here to make sure that I didn't.

"Please," I beg frantically. "I have to go to Killian. He's in trouble. I have to go find him before-"

"Everything is okay, Katrina," Shane says softly, like he's talking to a wild animal. "Alpha Killian will be back as soon as he can. Everything is fine."

"No, Shane, please listen," I plead desperately. "Killian is in trouble. I have to get to him now! Ple-"

I start coughing up blood, gasping for air. Weak, I'm too weak with my death so near.

"Katrina, Alpha Killian told me that you aren't feeling well," he says, sounding heartbroken. "You're delirious."

I keep coughing, and my nose starts bleeding. "P-Please," I gasp.

"You have to go to bed," Shane says gently. "Alpha Killian ordered me to make sure you get some rest."

"No!" I cry, and try to get out of his grip, but he's too strong.

He gently picks me up, like I'm made of glass.

"Shane, please," I sob hysterically. He doesn't understand that something is wrong, that they're all in trouble, that we're waiting for someone that will never come back.

"I'm sorry, Katrina," he says softly, ignoring me beating against his chest. "I'm sure you're scared right now, you're not well. Get some rest, okay? The Alpha will be back soon to take care of you."

He gently puts me down on the bed, and I frantically kick and claw at him, drawing his blood while I sob hysterically.

Killian is in trouble; I have to get to him. It's all I can think about.

Shane holds both of my wrists with one of his hands. "Katrina, please stop," he begs. "I promise everything is okay. Alpha Killian will be here soon. I'm going to be in trouble if he sees you like this."

I stop struggling, but I still weep.

"Will you please just stay in bed if I let you go?" Shane pleads. "I'm going to be in so much trouble."

Trying to calm myself down, I gulp air down until tears stop streaming from my face.

"C-Can I have some water?" I choke out. "My throat hurts."

Shane exhales, relieved by my tranquility. "Yes, of course."

He releases my wrists, and turns around to go get water.

I take the lamp off of the nightstand and hit him in the head with it.

I run out of the room as I hear Shane groaning in pain.

I sprint downstairs, hearing Shane call out my name, but I ignore him. He's stumbling after me, but I hit him hard enough to blur his vision.

I'm downstairs, running to the front door, ignoring the pain shooting through my body as I do so.

I have to get to Killian, have to save him, he can't be dead, he can't be dead, he can't be dead.

My hand wraps around the doorknob, and I don't have a plan, only knowing that I need to help Killian. Not focusing on anything except for finding Killian, I have to leave I have to-

"Going somewhere, darling?"

My breath catches in my throat. No, he couldn't be...

My knees buckle, and Killian is there, because he is always there.

His arms wrap around my waist, completely holding me up, because if he didn't, I would crumble completely.

My hands find his face, and I grab both sides. "Killian?" I choke out, tears streaming down my face.

"I told you I'd come back," he breathes, burying his face in my neck.

I sob, don't know why I sob because he's alive and he's here.

Killian squeezes me tighter. "Shh, don't cry, darling," he soothes, stroking my hair. "Everything is fine."

"You're here," I whisper, my voice cracking, as my tears stop falling.

"I'm here," he whispers, kissing the top of my head.

"Alpha," Shane pants, stumbling near us. "I'm so sorry she wasn't in bed, she wouldn't listen! I tried telling her that you were fine but she was hysterical and sobbing and-"

"I hit him with a lamp," I tell Killian.

Killian chuckles. "Of course you did."

Killian inhales deeply one more time before sweeping me up into his arms. "Shane, you can go home now. Sorry she hit you with a lamp. She has quite the temper on her."

Shane laughs slightly, his relief palpable. "It's fine, Alpha. Feel better, Katrina," he calls out before racing out of the house.

"Hysterical, huh?" Killian says, and I can hear the smirk in his voice.

"What... What happened?" I ask, my mind overwhelmed. "The wolves-"

"The wolves are fine," he says gently. "Let me get you into bed, I'll tell you all about it."

In an instant, we're laying on his bed, his arms wrapped tightly around me.

"What happened?" I ask, still not able to believe that he's here.

Killian sighs. "We went into the building. There were 29 hunters. We slaughtered them all within seconds. Dorian... He's fast," he murmurs appreciatively.

"Did you get hurt?" I interrupt, and use my hands to feel his chest and arms, looking for any torn clothes or blood.

He laughs. "No, darling, and your lack of faith in me is offensive." He tweaks my nose. "Nobody got hurt. The hunters weren't expecting us, and definitely weren't expecting werewolves or vampires so strong. We tore all of them apart immediately. Took almost no time at all. Knox was disappointed there wasn't a better fight."

"The wolves?" I ask. "You said they're fine."

"Yes," he says, the happiness in his voice palpable. "The vampires, too. We found all of them. Badly drained of blood, yes, but alive. The wolves are in our healing center right now, but in a few days, they'll be perfectly healthy."

"I can't believe this," I whisper. "I really thought that something was wrong..."

Killian kisses my forehead and strokes my hair. "Your Sight can be wrong, Katrina," he says softly.

I frown. "But..."

"Katrina, everything is fine," he reassures me, kissing the top of my head. "Dorian wanted me to thank you for everything." He pauses. "Said you could come to him if you ever need anything," He scowls.

I laugh slightly. "You know how many people owe me favors?" Too many people to count. I wouldn't even need to cash in on any of them.

"I owe you many. I owe you everything."

"You owe me nothing," I tell him. "I'm glad... I'm glad everything went well." Even though I had a really bad feeling before he threw me into Crimson Shadow.

I frown, remembering. "You threw me into the in between!"

He sighs, and kisses the top of my head again. He's done it so many times now. Did he even realize he was doing it? "I'm sorry I had to put you through that without a tether," he apologizes. "I... I couldn't come back here with you, because you would have begged me not to go, and I can't bear to hear that."

"Not like you listen when I do," I grumble.

"No, but it still pains me to hear," he says quietly. "What... What was wrong with you earlier? You were... Something was not right."

"My Sight just was a little strong," I tell him honestly. "You know it can... be a lot sometimes. It got the better of me."

"Are you... Is it quiet now?" he asks hesitantly.

It's not ever quiet. But with Killian, the noise was bearable.

"It's quieter," I tell him. "Thank you... For making it quieter."

"You don't have to thank me for anything, Katrina," he says, and kisses the top of my head again. "I'm going to go shower, I'll be right back."

"No!" I say quickly, clutching his shirt tightly. "Don't leave me again."

He chuckles. "Shane was right. You are hysterical."

I scowl, which makes him chuckle more, but he doesn't attempt to get up.

"Katrina, darling, you can let go of my shirt now," Killian says in amusement. "I'm not going anywhere."

I pry my fingers off his shirt, not realizing until now how tightly I was squeezing it.

But that night, neither of us releases the other.

Hi guys! It's recently come to my attention that someone by the name of "Chris Bright" has been stealing my work and posting it on Facebook, claiming it as his own. If anyone is interested in reading my book posted by some random asshole, you can find it at: https://www.facebook.com/chrisbright4/

It would really be a shame if people started commenting that it's stolen from me or reporting it. It would be even more of a shame if people found his email and whatsapp number in his "info" section of his account. It would be the biggest shame of all if I was so sad it got taken down from his page, I went on an uploading spree on Wattpad for Dimensions.

Lol but seriously, this jackwagon is ignoring my requests to take it down and deleting comments, so maybe if more people called him out and reported him, he wouldn't be able to ignore it. And if he does take it down, then yeah I'll post a few Dimensions chapters in one day cause f*** that guy.
