Chapter Six: Don't Swear In Class
♢♡Craig♡♢
The next day was the same as the last, but this time there was a boy in the class that made Jonathan's eyes widen. The boy is shorter then Jonathan but his shoulders have to be twice as wide, and his hands are big and calloused. His eyes are thin, an Asian maybe. Gee, what is he doing here? "Evan!" Jonathan chirps, dropping himself into the seat next to him. Ah, that's it.
"Ey Jon" Evan grins, running a hand through his messy hair. It's been shaved recently but growing back fast, I doubt Evan minds brushing it so his family makes him cut it. "This 'ere is Craig, Evan! 'E's from England!" Jonathan grins, blue eyes brightening. Brock chuckles and leans back like he's waiting for a show. "Gonna ask me to bow?" Evan smirks, raising an eyebrow at me. I sputter. "Excuse me?"
"I ain't about to bow for no rich priss, and back were I was born if you met an Englishmen it was only polite to say 'ello and drop" Evan snickers, the memory seeming fond to him. "If you're up in this joint I'm sure you're a real priss. How much money you worth?" Evan seems to like watching me turn red. "Oh ignore 'im Craig. He likes to make people squirm" Jonathan snorts, rolling his eyes.
Brock mumbles something but apparently the other two caught it because Jonathan swears and Evan starts laughing. He seems carefree, this one. "Listen, even though you don't seen too pleased to meet me, I'm inviting the three of you, and Luke if he'd like, to my house tonight. Just to explore the grounds, I haven't the chance" I grumble, I don't quite like Evan, but Jonathan seems to so I'll invite him.
Luke heard his name and was suddenly standing in front of Jonathan's desk. Ghost. "I heard my name" He grins, and I notice one of his teeth are chipped. One of the further back ones. Gee, how'd he do that? "Craig 'ere is inviting us over after school to explore 'is estate. It'd only be rude to decline, won't it?" Jonathan smirks, looking over at Evan.
Evan's eyes roll so hard I'm worried he's hurt himself before he sputters out a sigh and slaps his hand on the table. "Ma won't notice I'm gone 'til 'bout seven or nine, so yea I'll come" Evan says begrudgingly, Brock laughing at him. "I'll be there. My folks don't worry about me, they know I'm good" He tells me. Luke smirks at Jonathan for a moment. "Mind tellin' pa before Mrs. Gilly arrives?"
"Ugh!" Jonathan proclaims, getting all eyes on him. They rest of the boys return to their conversations once they see no fight is happening. "Yessir" He then says, climbing to his feet and heading into the hall. Luke drops into his seat and I snicker a little, that'll piss Jonathan off when he gets back. I'm really shocked when Luke suddenly leans towards Evan am his voice drops an octave laced with a growl.
"I thought I told ya t' leave Jonathan alone" He snarls, baring his teeth like an animal. Evan's smirk doesn't even falter. "Ya did. I jus' don' listen" Evan nods to him and Luke growls again. "Now listen you slit-faced-" Evan is on his feet on a flash, pushing Luke onto the ground and making him hit me too. I gasp and fall, hitting the floor with the back of my head.
"Don't you call me dat' ya fuckin' priss!" Priss seems to be Evan's favourtie insult, and it gets the rise out of Luke. I touch the back of my head and feel blood, Brock rushing to my side. I nod to him and he leaps back up, pulling Evan away from Luke. "Ev, stay put! Luke, don't slur at 'im like that!" He barks, but the other boys want the fight to continues.
Luke seems to know better, and Evan's eyes are still blazing, but Evan sits and Luke trudges to the back of the class. Brock comes back to me just as the teacher walks in with Jonathan, their eyes widening like saucers. "What in tarnation-" Mrs. Gilly starts, gasping at the blood leaking from my head. "Oh lord"
