"Eomma's not gonna be happy with this," She sulks, clinging on his arm as if she's begging him not to do it.
"I told you - it's not a big deal! Sure, she'll nag me a little but how long can she do it? She has to accept it," He laughs nonchalantly.
"Kooki-ah -"
Jungkook stopped his tracks and turned to her. "Is it eomma or you? Just say that you don't want me to have it,"
"I don't want you to do it," She pouts - worry plastered on her small face.
"Wow, that was easy! Why not?"
"I...um..."
He dipped his head a little to search for her eyes that's looking down to the ground. "You think I'd look ugly with a tattoo on my arm?"
"No, it's not that!"
"Then? Tell me...you've been using eomma since I told you yesterday,"
"I just...I don't like needles,"
Jungkook can't help but laugh at her cuteness. "Lily, it's not you who's getting the tattoo - it's me! It's safe - look, you don't even have to look okay?" He assures her. The paranoia is real with this one!
"I'll feel it everytime I look at your tattoo! Then I'll be scared to touch it,"
He sighed, gazing to her soft features. My baby, Lily...damn, that face is making him melt! "You know what...there's a restaurant there," He points to the other side of the street. "Why don't you order whatever you want and wait for me there? I'll be quick okay, I promise. The guy said it'll only be not more than thirty minutes so you won't even notice I'm gone to get a tattoo,"
"I know you're getting it and I don't like it. I already like you the way you are now - you're already so hot -"
He kissed her full on her pout and smiled cheekily. She hissed and rolled her eyes, but turned to cross the street regardless.
...
Jungkook slammed on his brakes again before cutting the slow-moving car in front of him. Jeez...there's so many cars on the road at this time of the day! He peeked towards the GPS on his phone...another 15 minutes before he gets there. Please...please still be there!
...
There's a small chiming sound as he pushed the door of the restaurant. Inside stood about 5 tables - only one is occupied by two girls. There's no sign of his girlfriend anywhere. Where is she??
"Hwangyong hamnida," A lady who looked like she's in her 40's greeted him with a smile.
He smiled back politely before scanning again. Didn't he asked her to wait here? Did she went somewhere else?
"How many persons?" The lady asked when she noticed him standing put.
"Ahh...I'm looking for someone...it's okay, she's probably not here -"
"Ah, long brown hair?" Jungkook nods. "She's upstairs," She points up, then towards the far end into the small space. "You can take the stairs there. Would you like to order first?"
He ordered an iced coffee as he didn't want to be rude. Then he made his way to the stairs. The place is small and the stairs are narrow, but it's quainty and somehow looked charming. There are small pots of flowers hanged on the walls leading up to the second floor.
It smelled like a normal kitchen downstairs, but when he got up, the smell of old wood starts filling in his nostrils. It's not until he turned around that he realized why. There's only 2 tables up here - placed near the window, overlooking the street he came in from. The rest of the small space are filled with shelves - about 3 aisles of them.
It took him only half a second to find his girlfriend - squatting down on the second and reading the back of a blue- coloured book in her hand. It didn't seem like she noticed his presence, so he tip-toed until he's behind her. In a swift, he placed both hand around her small waist - hugging her tightly from the back.
"Eh?" She turned. "What are you -" She's frowning and looking between his face to his arms. "I thought you said thirty minutes? Was it really that quick - I just ordered -"
He planted a kiss to stop her from talking.
"I cancelled the appointment,"
She froze.
"Yeah...I figured you might not wanna touch me anymore if I did it and I don't think I'll live that long if you don't. It's all your fault," He forced a serious expression.
It's partly true. He was already in the parlour when the tattoo artist came and advised him on the aftercare. He knew his skin will be red for a while, but he didn't realize the healing would take more work and time. Knowing Lisa - he knew she'd be traumatized for life if she were to witness it. She'd probably take longer time to heal from that experience and yes, she will most likely avoid touching him the entire time!
Slowly, a smile curved up her lips. "My fault huh? Oh no...what should I do?" She started speaking in aegyo. Damn, what are you being so cute for?! Jungkook pursed his lips, still determined to act serious and mad.
"It's all my fault! Tell me...what should I do to make it up to you?" She circled her arms around his neck while still on that aegyo shit. Jungkook tensed when he felt her fingers brushing around the back of his hair. God - we're in a public space...help me...
His hands didn't seem to get the memo as they unconsciously skimmed around her back - falling to her tiny waist and those petite, plumpy cheeks - pulling her closer.
"Should I tattoo you myself?" She whispered and he felt her soft bite on his earlobe.
"You um...yeah, you...um...you could," He couldn't think straight. There's no other customers up here except for them and Lisa is making him heady with all these warm touch and whispers.
He heard her small chuckle. She knew exactly what she's doing to him and she's not even trying that hard! Her right hand reach for the neckline of his jacket, tugging it and pushing it back as her lips began kissing on his neck and down to the tank top underneath on his chest. Fuck, that felt so good...fine, I don't mind having you here!
Her kisses moved to the top of his shoulder and Jungkook hangs his head back - revelling at the feel of her warm, wet tongue on his skin. She parted back the jacket more to reveal his arms and began kissing him there. The lusty pain started creeping up in his guts and it's taking all of his might to not just pull her up, part her legs between his thigh and fuck her against this old shelf and books!
She's touched him so many times but it's still not enough! How could she turn him on so quickly in such random and foreign places like this?!
"Baby..." He groaned a little when he felt the suckle on his bicep. He could practically feel her smile when she lets go.
"There..." Her lips shined with moisture as she looked on the mark she left. "Your new tattoo,"
...
Jungkook rubbed off the sweat formed on his forehead as he got closer to the restaurant. There were no available spots around the area so he had to park at the nearby neighbourhood and run here. With every step closer, he thought of what he would say. Would a 'hi' be awkward? 'I found you'? No...that'll sound cocky!
He pushed on the glass door and heard the same small chime. That was the only time they've ever been here together, but the memory made him feel like it was only yesterday. His frightful eyes scanned around but found no one. Did she left? Maybe she's upstairs?
"Hwangyong hamnida," A younger-looking guy greeted him close. "Have a seat! We have a special lunch menu today -"
"I'm sorry - do you...was there a girl here before? Short hair, with bangs...looks like a doll -"
"Lisa noona?"
"Yes! Lisa - that's her name! Is she here? Is she upstairs?" Is he shouting?? He can't care - he was just too happy to know that Lisa's here!
"Oh, she just left...like five or maybe ten minutes ago,"
Had his heart stopped beating? The pain in his legs from all that running is now throbbing - that's for sure! She just left...he missed her by 10 minutes! It's 10-freaking-minutes - why are you doing this to me?? He hissed - internally cursing at the universe but mostly at himself!
"Uh...would you like to have a seat? A drink maybe?" The guy probably noticed the glint in his eyes and Jungkook had to cover them with a smile. He muttered for an iced coffee and said he'll have a seat upstairs, before making his way up.
...
He stares out the window - onto everything and nothing in his peripheral vision - wondering what's next. Would she come back here today? She was here twice in a day before...maybe she'd come back? Should he wait for her here then?
What if she doesn't show up? She was waiting for him, wasn't she? She's going back to her homeland in 2 days...maybe she'd be busy packing up and won't have the time to wait for him anymore. What if that's the last time she's here? Had she given up on waiting for him?
Jungkook rubbed his eyes, wiping away the hint of tears that are starting to build. He should probably call his mother - go back to Busan and wait for her there. He didn't find her - but at least he'll get to see her one last time before she leaves...
He lets out another defeated sigh, and looked over to the second shelf where she gave him that tattoo kiss before. So much memories...what should I do with it? What do I do - how do I move on from here? Everything was great - a complete blessing even! - and he ruined it.
'You'll be exactly you need to be'. That's what the old man said. Well, wherever that might be, Jungkook knew it could never amount up to what he had when he was with her. She's met someone new. One day, he'll meet someone new too. He'll smile again...laugh again and maybe even love again. But it will never be the same - he knew that much.
There are things that you get only once in your life. Things that are so great...so true, that you'd wonder how on earth could it have happened to you. For him, it's Lisa. He was one of the lucky ones - he used to think. He got to keep her for so long. She loved him for so long.
Jungkook got up and walked towards the bookshelf. The books weren't kept properly, he could tell. A finance book is in between magazines...then there are some fictions and religion...they all looked old and worn-out. The smell of old paper is more obvious than he remembered.
At the bottom, a blue-coloured cover caught his eye. Was this the one she read before? He squats down and took it out. Yes...he remembers the cover as she took it to their table and pretended like she didn't just gave him a hard-on and left him feeling breathless.
'I see you as I saw the Flowers', the cover read. He flips on a couple of pages and realized that it's a book of poetry. He stopped by one to read,
'Happiness
That I have a home to go back
In the evening
That I have a person to think of
When I am exhausted
That I have a song to sing
When I feel alone'
His chest felt heavy as the tears pooled up again. He flips on to another,
'Wildflower
You have to look closely to see its loveliness
You have to look for a long time
to realize that it's lovable
You too, are also like that'
He shuts his eyes and sobbed once before he felt arms across his shoulder, circling around and pulling him into an ambrace. The familiar scent he's breathing in has him crying like a small child - wishing so much that this is not a dream.
