Display of Power
Asaki felt a swell of pride as she admired her hero costume-it had turned out exactly as she envisioned. Crafted with a sleek, ninja-inspired design, the thin black fabric clung to her form, covering most of her body while strategically leaving areas exposed to maximize the effectiveness of her quirk. Her thighs were bare from mid-thigh down, and the netted material that hugged her figure provided both mobility and a connection to her abilities.
Her lower back was similarly exposed, a purposeful choice that tied into her combat strategy. But the most striking feature of her costume was the mask. Covering the lower half of her face, it bore the fierce print of animal jaws where her mouth should be, adding an intimidating edge to her already commanding presence.
Her hair was loose and free from her usual ponytail, a rare sight. Though overwhelmed with joy, her face betrayed only a scowl.
"WOW," Ashido gasped as Asaki stepped out onto the Mock City training grounds. "You look AMAZING."
"Tch-thanks," Asaki clicked her teeth in response, glancing at the massive building ahead, her focus already shifting.
"Today's exercise," Aizawa began, his tone steady. Asaki still hadn't completely forgiven him for his motivational antics during the last class. While effective, they had left her stressed all day-a feeling she didn't appreciate. "We'll be dividing you into heroes and villains. Teams of two will play the villains and safeguard a weapon. The other team, the heroes, will infiltrate and disable the bomb. You have twenty minutes to complete the objective."
"Asaki and Aoyama, you'll be heroes. Your opponents, Sato and Ojiro, will play the villains," Aizawa continued, his expression unreadable.
"Yessir," Asaki nodded, flexing her gloved hands absentmindedly, already formulating a strategy. From her observations the day before, she knew Sato and Ojiro excelled in close-range combat. Skilled as they were, their quirks were no match for hers in versatility or raw power.
"Let's do our best, mon chérie!" Aoyama struck a dramatic pose, dazzling smile in place.
Asaki paled, visibly cringing. "Just let me take care of it," she snorted, shaking her head.
The class filed into the observation room to watch, leaving the training field silent except for the faint hum of anticipation. The buzzer rang out, signaling the start of the exercise.
Asaki's lips curled into a smirk beneath her mask. Let's make this quick.
"It's your time to shine, buddy!" she called.
From the shadows around her feet, Cerberus emerged, not small as usual but massive-towering over the building itself. His three heads snarled, their dark eyes swirling with shadowy wisps. The middle head gently lifted Asaki onto its crown while the right head grabbed Aoyama by his cape, earning a delighted squeal from him.
"Shoot when I tell you, and I'll handle the rest," Asaki ordered, her tone cold but calm. "Just touch the 'bomb,' and we win."
"Yes! Please don't drop me!" Aoyama yelped, looking nervously at the height they were suspended from.
"Cerberus would never," she replied flatly.
With a swift motion, tendrils of shadow shot out from Cerberus, crashing through the windows of the building. They wrapped around Sato and Ojiro's ankles before either could react, yanking them out of the building and onto the street below.
Ojiro recovered first, his agility allowing him to escape the tendrils' grip. "It won't be that easy!" he shouted, twirling his tail as he charged toward Asaki.
"NOW!" Asaki barked.
Aoyama fired his Navel Laser at Ojiro, forcing him to dodge the blast. Out of the corner of her eye, Asaki spotted Sato ripping open sugar packets. Her focus sharpened.
Leaping down from Cerberus's head, she activated her quirk further. Tendrils of shadow wrapped around her legs, forming rabbit-like thighs and feet, while her arms became sheathed in darkness. As she landed, the impact left a small crater in the earth.
With Cerberus fading back into her shadow, Aoyama slipped inside through the shattered windows. Asaki now faced both Sato and Ojiro alone.
The two coordinated, targeting her from opposite sides. Ojiro attacked from the left while Sato rushed in from the right, his Sugar Rush-enhanced strength on full display. Asaki's enhanced legs allowed her to dodge and counter quickly, her movements sharp and precise.
Sato swung a punch directly at her head, but she caught it with her shadow-covered hands, growling as the force pushed her back slightly. The air crackled with tension as the trio squared off.
Not giving them time to recover, Asaki charged. With a swift, spinning kick, she delivered a crushing blow to Sato's side, sending him stumbling. Ojiro took the opportunity to attack from behind, using his tail to strike.
Anticipating his move, Asaki swung her leg around, wrapping her enhanced shadow limb around his tail. Using his own momentum against him, she flipped him into the ground with a resounding crash.
Inside the building, Aoyama reached the bomb and touched it.
The buzzer blared, signaling the end of the exercise.
"HEROES WIN," the announcement boomed.
Asaki stood tall, her chest rising and falling as she steadied her breathing. A smirk spread beneath her mask. It had taken less than ten minutes.
They never stood a chance.
Inside the Observation room
As the battle unfolded, the class watched in stunned silence as Asaki revealed the true extent of her quirk. Cerberus, a massive shadowy creature, loomed before their eyes-a being so lifelike it seemed almost sentient. As Ojiro and Sato fought back with all their might, the class couldn't tear their eyes away from the screens, mesmerized by Asaki's raw power and precision.
"YEAH! Go Tsukoyami!" Mina cheered enthusiastically, pumping her fists in the air.
"She's so manly!" Kirishima grinned, clearly impressed. "I've gotta ask her to spar with me after this!"
"I didn't realize her quirk could do this," Uraraka murmured, wide-eyed. She stood next to Midoriya, who was furiously scribbling notes in his ever-present notebook.
"It's fascinating," he muttered, eyes glued to the screen. "At first glance, her quirk seemed like a simple body enhancement, but it's much more versatile. She can manifest creatures from her shadows-it's almost like a mix of summoning and physical augmentation. I need to ask her about her training regimen and limitations..." He trailed off into his usual muttering, prompting Uraraka to pale slightly. Did he always go this deep?
"You know, I feel like I've seen a quirk like this before..." Sero said, scratching the back of his head thoughtfully. "She kinda reminds me of-"
"She's the daughter of The Mistress of Darkness: The Madame! Of course!" Mineta blurted out, his eyes glinting. "I'd know those legs anywhere."
"Ew..." Ashido grimaced, her face twisting in disgust. The rest of the class shifted uncomfortably, avoiding Mineta's gaze.
"That explains so much!" Midoriya exclaimed, his scribbling intensifying. "If she inherited her quirk from her mother, that would mean-"
"Spare us the family tree, nerd," Bakugo interrupted with a sharp laugh, crossing his arms. "If you extras think her quirk is impressive, you seriously need to get out more. So what if she can make shadow puppets? I'd blow her away without even breaking a sweat."
The class exchanged skeptical glances but said nothing, returning their attention to the battle.
