Chapter 11 // Communication

You know, I think it's best if I just place this chapter out here for y'all and run. There are way too many people that would like a chance to hunt me down and make me suffer because of how long it took me to upload.

But, great news, my most important sports' seasons are almost over and there's something else that I just finished as well. So, with great joy, I would like to say that writing is about to get another peek into my schedule for the first time in months.

Also, before y'all read, I'd like to mention that Anakin and the other Jedi's POV right now is a little bit further ahead in time than Ahsoka's is. They will be at about the same point in time at the end of the chapter.

"Why does everybody hate me," Anakin cried out dramatically, though his words were muffled due to the fact that a smug Jedi Master was sitting on top of him.

"Oh boo hoo," Obi-Wan mimicked, not moving an inch. He still hadn't let what Anakin did the other day go yet. Sure, it was petty, but Obi-Wan had no problem with that.

"Master Kenobi?" A feminine voice asked from the door of the training room. Anakin sighed in relief at this. Maybe now the older Master would be embarrassed enough to jump off of him.

    No such luck.

Instead, Obi-Wan just pivoted around to where he was facing Luminara, gave Anakin a devilish smirk, then looked up at the woman with innocent eyes.

"Yes?" He answered, acting like he totally wasn't crushing Anakin to death.

"Get off me you fat Bantha," Anakin hissed. Obi-Wan simply chuckled.

"You're just jealous that I got cake," he shot back, referencing to his behind.

"Like any female would be dumb enough to like you," Anakin commented in a snarky tone.

Luminara cleared her throat and announced loudly, "If the both of you would mind acting your age for a couple of minutes, I would like to say what I've been trying to tell you for the last two minutes."

Obi-Wan sobered up real quick and reluctantly freed Anakin. With a breath of relief, the young Master scrambled up and shot the elder a glare.

"I would like to inform you that we are almost to Savareen. Master Yoda has tasked you two with making the initial aircraft sweep to assure that the territory isn't deadly."

"Savareen? Dangerous? Not in a thousand years," Anakin snorted, but it was cut off by Obi-Wan with a swift slap to the arm.

"We're more than happy to comply," Obi-Wan replied with a smile, though there was an underlying tone of force directed towards Anakin.

"Thank you, Master Obi-Wan. Good luck."

Ω–Ω–Ω–Ω–Ω–Ω–Ω–Ω–Ω–Ω–Ω–Ω–Ω–Ω–Ω–Ω–Ω–Ω–Ω–Ω–Ω

"Don't be suspicious, don't be suspicious," Ahsoka quietly sang to herself as she Force-jumped over the electric fence that guarded the base. Yeah, that boundary was doing a great job.

"So, Daughter, you free to talk?" The Togruta whispered, landing from the jump with a forward roll. Before she could be spotted by the patrolling enemies, she ducked behind a shipping crate that was most likely newly-arrived weapons and ammunition.

    Uh... I guess?

"Good, because my nerves are out of the roof right now. There's something about this place that doesn't feel right," Ahsoka nervously murmured. Like she had told the Daughter, she really was on edge right now. Every single nerve in her body was screaming at her to turn and run. However, she obviously couldn't do that right now. This mission was much too important and time-sensitive to turn back now.

    Watch out. Two o'clock.

Heeding the celestial's warning, Ahsoka quickly looked up and noticed a sentinel that was heading her way. With a small scowl and shake of her head, she quickly made a mental map of her surroundings so she could plan her next move. There were too many cameras keeping watch of the entrance, and all of the vents she could see were much too small for her to shimmy into.

"If I can't get in via the sides, then what's next?" Ahsoka pondered to herself, shifting to the left of the shipping crate in attempts to buy her a little more time. Then, with a coy smile, she looked up to the roof. "When in doubt, go up."

You sure that's a good idea?

"No," Ahsoka quietly chuckled to herself. "But it is something, and that's better than what I've got right now."

With steps as silent and hasty as a cat, the Togruta glided through the shadows and towards a part of the base's wall that was out of sight from all cameras. Feeling the wind dance across the small part of her face that wasn't hidden from her hood, Ahsoka took a few powerful steps and launched herself into the air. With a landing that could rival a gymnast, the Togruta felt her feet make contact with the hard surface of the roof.

Ahsoka sighed as she looked at the barren metal. There wasn't much that hinted at there being an opportunity of entrance for the Togruta. With a last-ditch effort, the Gray Jedi walked a few paces around the roof to see if she could find something hidden within the vast silver metal. Just as she was about to call it quits and come up with something else, she stepped on something that sounded off.

Looking down, Ahsoka carefully stomped in the same spot. Sure enough, it sounded hollow. There had to be something right below her.

Before grabbing her lightsaber from its position on her belt, she felt through the Force to make sure she wouldn't be entering a room full of people. Much to her relief, the closest signature was the sentinel she had narrowly escaped earlier.

Using the extremely hot blade of her lightsaber, Ahsoka cut a circle in the metal below her. Right before she completed the ring, she stepped to the side and got ready to catch the metal circle. Sure enough, right as she finished slicing the metal, she used the Force to catch it and gently set it down on the ground.

A feeling of dread washed over her as she peeped over the side of the hole. The air-shaft of sorts seemed to go down forever and forever. With the aid of the Force, Ahsoka felt down past the point that she could no longer see. The Togruta quickly pulled back and muttered a couple of choice words.

"Any further down and they'll be in the molten core of this place," Ahsoka growled. However, knowing that she had no other choice, she bid the surface of Endor goodbye and leaped down the shaft.

A shiver danced across her as she felt herself free-falling. If she was completely honest, falling blindly down a chute that was just wide enough to fit her and pitch-black was not the most easing thing she's ever done before.

After a couple of minutes of falling, Ahsoka could feel the ground finally nearing. With a breath of relief, the Gray Jedi took control of herself and the air surrounding her just in time to slow her landing. She smiled as the sound of her feet touching the ground was no louder than the drop of a paperclip.

Right in front of her was a vent covering, which she assumed led to a hallway due to the light seeping through the slits. The shaft also continued to her left and right, but the hole was much too small for her to continue. So, with a reassuring intake of air, Ahsoka used the Force to unscrew the bolts that held the vent fast.

To be honest, what happened after that was a little bit of a blur to the Togruta. Just the pure feeling of anxiety and energy running through her was enough to make her sick. All she could remember was subconsciously running through the halls, paying just enough attention to keep from getting caught. No matter how many different rooms she peeked into, she couldn't discover anything different from this base to all the other Separatist ones she's raided before. Well, except for the fact that this one was run solely by humanoids and was bursting with the Force. Not necessarily the Dark Side, nor the Light Side. In fact, it wasn't like anything she'd ever felt before. It was just... harnessed Force?

Just as Ahsoka was about to scream from the tension and lack of findings, she came across something. To the right of the hall, there was a glass window that provided a view of a gigantic room. Her breath hitched as she carefully crept over to the window. There, right before her, was a sight frightening enough to turn her tanned skin to a ghastly white and cause her to faint on the spot. Rows upon rows of humanoids were lined up, presumably practicing a training routine, with their weapons outcast. Normally this wouldn't be too big of a deal for Ahsoka, except there was one minor detail that was off. Those were no normal weapons. They were red lightsabers.

"It... it can't be. Daughter, am I going crazy?!"

    No. I see it too.

It was at that moment that Ahsoka realized that she was dealing with a problem much too large to solve on her own. Blowing up a planet filled with evil spirits and an old Sith Master paled in comparison to what she was witnessing. There had to be at least thousands of Sith lined up with their lightsabers powered on. And to think that there might be even more bases like this scattered across the galaxy!

Ahsoka might've been just barely stable enough to stagger back to the shaft and get out of there if nothing else would've messed with her. Obviously though, nothing can be that easy. Right as she was starting to sprint away, a voice that she hadn't heard in seemingly forever broke through the loud thoughts that were racing through her mind.

Snips, I need you back. I need your help. I'm lost, 'Soka. I know you're still out there somewhere. We need you back.

At this point, Ahsoka was too stunned to even move. There was hardly a way to explain what was happening. Anakin still believed she was alive?! He was still able to communicate through their bond?!

It was the pure shock that was running through her veins that had been her downfall. She wasn't even conscious enough to notice the multitude of enemies that circled around, let alone dodge the rounds of stun shots they fired at her. Within the blink of an eye, Ahsoka was sprawled out across the floor of an enemy base, out like a light.

Ω–Ω–Ω–Ω–Ω–Ω–Ω–Ω–Ω–Ω–Ω–Ω–Ω–Ω–Ω–Ω–Ω–Ω–Ω–Ω–Ω

When the Togruta woke up, which she assumed was about a day or so later, she was in a much different position than what she remembered being in prior. She was suspended midair because of...

    Kriff.

She was confined in a Force-user chamber, and presumably hooked up to an electrical torturing machine. Great. As if she hadn't already had enough of those in her life before. She attempted to speak out, but her mouth was dry and clammy.

"Welcome back, intruder," a voice broke the silence, snarling at the last word. "I'm awfully sorry for not knowing what to call you, but your stubborn little hood decided that it wasn't going to come off. It's truly a trick I haven't seen yet, and, if we're being honest, I'm quite impressed."

Ahsoka wanted desperately to fire back a slew of insults that were bubbling inside her, but, as she was painfully reminded, her mouth was still much too dry to speak. Instead, she let herself smile slightly as she remembered the Force-spell she cast on her robes to never bend to anyone's touch but her own.

"Well, since you seem to be a quiet one, I guess I'll do the talking for now. You're currently under our custody. How? I'm not so sure. You're definitely one to be full of surprises. So, until we get every last secret out of your mysterious little self, you'll be getting very familiar with this device," the man speaking slapped his hand down onto the controls of the torturing device.

This idiot, Ahsoka thought to herself with a roll of her eyes. How in Mustafar am I supposed to spill the tea when I quite literally can't even talk?

"Well, it is truly a pleasure talking to you, but I've got a strict agenda to follow," With that, he flipped the switch and allowed electricity to flow through Ahsoka's veins. The Togruta did everything she could to suppress the pain, but after several minutes of non-stop torture, she eventually cried out in distress.

"Looks like someone's not so strong after all," he chuckled, momentarily turning off the machine. "Now, ready to talk?"

Instead of responding, which would still be pretty dang hard to do considering her condition, she took the opportunity to reach out for help in the only way she could think of. Anakin.

Help... please. I'm on Endor. You're the only one who can rescue me.

Ahsoka wanted to say more, but the icy-hot pain that was streaking through her bones was too much to handle. Her fate lied in her old master's hands now.

Confused yet? Did some of predict what was going to be in this base?

Also, are y'all chill with me making Anakin a bit of a comedic relief right now? Honestly, I don't mean to... it just kind of happens.

Also, before I go, thank you to everyone who voted on a book cover! If you haven't yet, you still can. If one of them ever gets a lot more votes than the current one, I'll change it out.
