Previously: "...He lets go of me with a shriek of pain and I make a run for it dodging his goons at every turn they jump out to reach me as I pass them. As I run, what used to be the shadow turns out to be Batman."

Izzy's POV

He stops in front of me and pushes me out of the way of an attack, I turn in time to see Batman block a blow from a goon armed with a crowbar. I tense as I hear the 'clunk' of the metal hitting his suit, instantly flinching until I realise that he doesn't feel it. He keeps on fighting, flipping, punching and jabbing at each goon until no one is left except the Joker.

He smiles before he grabs a gun out "well Batsy it seems we meet againnnnn, hehehe. We really should stop meeting like this, saving a damsel as we all knowwww, that no matter how many times you try and save themmm. They will always die. Hahaha." When he finishes he shoots straight at Batman's side. The bullet goes through the material of his suit and he grunts in pain as the bullet hits him. 

I go to help him when I realise he put me here in the darker area so I wasn't visible to the Jokers insane eyes. Another thing I realise is that I still have zip ties on my wrists and my mouth is taped shut. The joker runs over to the driver's side of the SUV and with a wave and smirk on his face "goodbyeee, for now. HAHAHAHA" he hops into the van and speeds down the street with the tyre's screeching leaving smoke and the smell of burning rubber in his wake. 

I run over to Batman who is now hunched over pressing his hand to his side I see blood covering his black leather clad hands. As I reach him he turns and looks at me I see the pain and sadness in his eyes though covered in a black mask and a hard exterior you could see that whatever the Joker said was a painful memory. He stands straight and winces pulling a pocket knife out of his utility belt.

He carefully cuts the zip ties off of my chaffing wrists making sure not to scratch me in the process and takes the tape off with caution not wanting to hurt my face with the action of pulling tape off. 

"Thank you, are you alright?" he nods his head 

"It's what I do and I'm fine, I'm used to it" is his answer in a gruff voice. He goes to run off

"Wait!" I call out in desperation

He turns his head to look at me over his shoulder 

"No matter what the others say, I don't think your bad I know you're looking out for Gotham." I see a ghost of a smile on his lips before he chases after the Joker.

I stand there just watching the space where Batman had just been standing without my accord a small smile graces my lips and I touch where it was. I just made The Batman smile. I feel like a 13 year old girl talking to her crush for the first time. I shake my head at my silliness, and look down at my small slim wrist where red marks are beginning to form, where the zip ties once existed. I subconsciously rub at the spot to soothe the burn.

I quickly hurry down the street and away from any alley ways and to the stores across the road. I look left and right with every turn and make it to my apartment in a short time. I run up the many flights of stairs taking two at a time, until I reach the 5th, where I run down the hall towards my door. Unlocking it in record time I hop inside and slam the door, locking and sliding the chain in place.

I rush over to the windows and lock them, drawing the curtains over, even though there is still light out. I see my cat Luna come trotting over, she rubs herself all over my legs letting out a 'meow' "hey baby girl." I pet her head and walk over to the couch. I lay down and tuck my knees up and lay my head on the pillow looking at the black screen of the t.v. I reach over for the remote and feel Luna jump up and snuggle into my side.

I smile while turning the t.v on, 30 minutes later I feel my eyes droop before I see darkness. My dreams are haunted by those crazy eyes, maniacal laugh and that overstretched smile "you're mine!" I bolt up on the couch startling Luna as I sit up. I inhale shaky breaths, I place my hand on my chest to try and slow down my heart rate, I hear a 'meow' and turn my head to see Luna looking at me with mischievous jade eyes. 

She rubs her head all over me while meowling in content, I rub her head and get off the couch and see the clock 9:30pm and sigh those 5 hours went quick. I go into the kitchen to make a quick a dinner, grabbing the premade frozen packets I pop one into the oven after preheating in the microwave.

While it's cooking I grab Luna' dinner bowl and fill it with dry food and a little bit of canned food. I place it on her mat by the kitchen bench she quickly trots over to it and gulps mouthful after mouthful of her food. When the ding of the oven rings I grab my food from it and take it to the table for two and sit there and slowly eat my food. 

When I finish the tasteless food I put the container in the trash and grab my laptop from the coffee table and sit crossed legged on my couch and searching the internet for internships based around technology and being a PA or anywhere that has a job open. 

I find one, for Wayne Enterprises. I click onto the link and find the form to fill out. I sit there for an hour filling out what's needed. After looking over what I've written I send in my application what's the worst that could happen? I don't get the internship? But there still a chance I could get into the interview. With a smile on my face I click off from the website and I rub behind Luna' ears.

I walk into my bedroom and get changed into my pyjamas which include my red, black and white checked boy short shorts and my black Rolling Stones tank top and my socks, I ruffle my hair around and flip my head upside down bringing in all pieces of stray hairs before pilling it on top of my head into a messy bun to sleep in. 

Before I make my way to bed I go around my apartment making sure that I did indeed lock all my windows and the chain is in place on the door. Once I know that they are I walk over to Luna and pick her up; she instantly snuggles into my arms and I take her into my room. I gently sit her down on my bed and walk into my bathroom, getting my toothbrush and toothpaste.

I put some toothpaste on before sticking my toothbrush underneath the slow stream of water coming out of the faucet. I begin brushing my teeth and look at my tired reflection. I spit the toothpaste out and rinse my mouth. Before going back into my room slipping into bed with Luna curled next to my pillow. I lean over and switch my, beside light off. Darkness surrounds me before I close my eyes. 

I thought that night was going to be the last time I saw the joker.

What I didn't know was how wrong I was.

A/N: 2 chapters in one day whoop whoop, thats the first two chapters of my Batman story done and dusted so far. I hope you all enjoyed it and are excited for the next part. I love writing the Joker's speech as I try to incorporate his characteristic drawls and laughs through his words (I'm using Heath Ledgers Joker in my story as my story is set during and after The Dark Knight)
