Ferris Ordeal
Jimin loves Jungkook.
He's had a crush on him since their debut era days but only got to truly realise his romantic feelings towards the younger much later.
Being in a gay relationship in such a conservative country like South Korea was like a myth, a narrative Jimin never imagined could be possible. As he grew up, he learnt and matured, and so did his feelings become deeper. Even though he was not ready to officially reveal it to the world, he was ready to make Jungkook the happiest man on earth when he found out their maknae felt the same about him.
If you are to ask Jimin, he will go on for innumerable reasons for why he likes Jungkook so much.
His cute baby face, adorable bunny smile, bright galaxy eyes that hold every star in the universe, his delicate mannerisms, the sleeve full of tattoos, his killer piercings and well defined muscular body. Jimin loves little detail about him.
Yet what causes Jimin to fall more and more into the rabbit hole everyday is the unique sense of comfort Jungkook gives him. Just by his presence alone, Jimin feels huge boulders removed off his chest.
Jungkook has been with Jimin through every thick and thin. Protecting him, motivating him, advising him, cheering him at every step. Even at times when he would say or do nothing, he'd just be there listening, free of any judgements, even if Jimin ranted non sense.
He would be there for him.
Jimin glances up from where he is sitting across Jungkook. He doesn't know how long it has been in here but it sure does feel like a century happened.
On a normal day, he might be enjoying the slow ride. Not now. Not when his heart is throbbing against his ribcage so hard it is threatening to pop out. The prolonged pace only driving irritation pound into his brain.
The cabin isn't very comfortable either. Spacious yes, but the narrow plastic bench seats are making Jimin's butt ache from sitting too long. It's almost suffocating in here. Whatever picturesque scene is displayed out the window, Jimin has neither energy nor will to admire that.
And he thought Ferris Wheel was a good idea to end their amusement park trip.
Meanwhile Jungkook seems to be too absorbed into it. All this time he's had his form completely turned to the side, forehead pressed against the window as he watches God knows what in a particular direction. Jimin can't see his face from that angle. Well, at least someone is having fun.
After the lake incident Jimin would rather erase out of his life, he had to take an Uber to their hotel for a quick shower and change of clothes. They decided to spend the rest of the afternoon and evening in a local amusement park. This time Jimin made extra sure to take not one but two wallets with him.
The day was worthwhile. They did enjoy and all. Got tired soon too. Especially Jungkook cause boy wouldn't get off the damn bumper cars until he vanquished every other player to surrender.
It was Jimin's suggestion to ride the Ferris Wheel before they return back. According to him, they could relax and cherish the lovely top views from there. Now being trapped inside the snail speed cage is eye-opening, spirit-awakening. That Ferris Wheel are by far the most boring rides ever in history. Never to recommend. Remember that.
By 5:30 pm, Jimin heard all rides in this amusement park get illuminated. They beam with multi colored glowing lights and occassionally there are special 'laser show' displays as well.
He checks the time in his phone. It is long past 5:30 yet not even a glint of light. Sunset is spreading its orange-red tones all over the sky, eventually darkening as more minutes go by. Jimin felt how sensational it would be if he proposed to Jungkook right as illumination ignited their very Ferris Wheel cabin. And he'd cheesily say he kt shows how Jungkook came as the saviour light into his world of darkness. Then maybe they'll share a kiss.
Jimin's cheeks flush pink at the thought. As if on cue, his brain plays all beautiful memories of him and Jungkook together since the beginning to where they are now in a sequence. Perhaps it was the affect of slight dizziness, that without any lights, without any plan, Jimin finds himself saying,
"Jungkook-ah, do you remember this day?"
He recieves no reply and honestly he doesn't expect to either. He wants to speak his heart out without any interruption. Just Jungkook listening to him, like he always does.
Jimin speaks slow, with emphasis on each line. "Time flies by so fast we don't realise. It is all still so fresh in my head. When you came to see me in person backstage. Little Kookie looked like a tomato that was about to burst." He giggles, "It's been...four years now huh?"
Now; because this is the day of their anniversary when Jungkook first confessed to Jimin, when they initially started their relationship. It was during one of their world tours. On the last day of the concert when Jimin had a solo performance, Jungkook had sneaked up backstage with a bouquet of flowers when it got over.
Perhaps Jungkook doesn't remember though. They never really celebrated this day for being so special. It didn't matter, each day of them together feels like a honeymoon for a certain day to be better than other. But for Jimin, it does hold a very personal space in his heart. That is the sole reason, if Jimin wants to propose, it has to be today or never!
"That day was no less than a miracle in my life. The man I was head over heels for reciprocated my feelings. He was willing to face against the world for me. You know how much I cried that night?"
Of course Jungkook does. He was right there to hug Jimin, to comfort him. That moment was too emotionally overwhelming for both of them.
Jimin's voice is light and melodic as he reminisces, "Shit, I kept falling for you deeper after then, each time you smiled at me, each second you spent with me, each word you told me, you were truly the best thing that ever happened to me Jungkook-ah." It isn't Jimin's imagination that he senses a tear well up in his eye.
"You made me feels things I never did before. You made me, feel completed."
Jimin looks up from his lap where he is nervously fidgeting his fingers to at Jungkook who is still looking out the window. Jimin assumes it must be because he's shy. Yes Jungkook did gain lot of confidence lately, but Jimin never fails to fluster him until he becomes a blushing mess. That is a never changing established trait of their relationship.
But even if Jungkook can't manage to look at Jimin right now, Jimin knows he is listening intently, could have got emotional too that he doesn't want to show.
"My Jungkookie...the Moon to my Sun, the Yin to my Yang, the Kookliet to my Jimmeo, the Leonardo Jungcaprio to my Kate Minslet..."
Ah it's that crappy corny script of Jimin's that he was awake all night to memorise. What a (not) nice way to ruin a touching moment. Anyways.
"I thought a lot over us past months."
Jimin's guts have started churning in anticipation.
"We really are perfect for each other."
He feels butterflies flying inside his tummy, toes curling.
"It is my final decision."
Jimin's heart is pumping so fast all the blood making his head spin.
"I want to take my relationship with you further Jungkook."
His body feels light like a feather like he's floating in air.
"A life long promise. Bound together till death."
Jimin's soul is close to leaving his body.
"I only have one question for you, my love."
All constellations align in one line.
Their cabin has reached up to the topmost spot of the Ferris Wheel. Bright illumination glimmers behind them, around them, and everywhere outside. A sweet melody is playing, too mesmerizing and romantic. The whole experience feels otherworldly.
Will you marry me?
Jimin says in his head, because he wants to be able to see Jungkook's every reaction detail, capture it like a picture in his memories forever.
"Look at me Kook-ah." Jimin speaks softly, a dazed smile on his lips.
But that is wiped off instantly as Jungkook still doesn't respond. Jimin gets a dreadful feeling he hopes is not true. "Jungkook??" Not even a movement.
"Jeon Jungkook are you listening?!??" Jimin shouts as loud as he can without making it seem like a bloody murder happened in their cabin.
And that is what brings Jungkook to motion. He stirs from his position, strangely flinching away and turning his head to look here and there in a rather confused state. A hand comes up to rub at his eyes.
"Did you say something?" Jungkook yawns.
"I was saying how mind-blowing it will be to jump down from here.
