IF ANYONE WERE TO BE ASKED IF POPULAR GIRL SLOANE PETERSON AND SOCIETAL PARIAH EDDIE MUNSON HAD BEEN FRIENDS, they would have denied it vehemently, sworn up and down that the two would have never been seen in the same room together, save for the one Chemistry class they had. The freak and the princess of Hawkins High? Friends? No fuckin' way. The two ran in completely different circles, they'd never cross paths and also have to lose their minds. But alas, there were only so many times stars could pass before they aligned.
And as cliché as it was to say, Sloane wasn't what everyone made her out to be. Sure, she was the picture-perfect magazine cutout of the all-American teenage girl, captain of the cheer squad with the equally hot boyfriend by her side on the outside, but she liked to think that she was a little more than that and not as vapid and shallow as everyone thought. She had thoughts and feelings that differed from the circles she ran in, she wasn't part of Hawkins High's hive mind. But one stick-n-poke tattoo at the request of Sloane was bound to change everything.
Flash forward to her continuing college years and she was still the picture perfect cheer captain, even at Purdue University. Her high school boyfriend had turned into her shitty college boyfriend, and she was on the brink of losing it. After finding Eric making out with one of Purdue's cheerleaders that wasn't Sloane, Sloane finds herself rightfully dumping him and then later in a dive bar on a Tuesday night, eye to eye with someone she had been friends with a little while ago.
A spark was reignited in the dimly lit space, but it was only a matter of time before that spark turned into a flame, too hard to control, and having everything come burning down, Hawkins included.
