Chisoo had no desire to be in front of the student body that was eyeing her as she walked down the hallway. Part of her wanted to hide from them all, but the other half was getting angry.

She turned the corner and opened her locker, but something fluttered to the floor. She looked down and read the words 'Killer' in red marker on the paper in front of her feet. She closed her eyes and counted to ten, then got what she needed out of her locker and slammed it shut.

She turned around and made eye contact with the kids leaning against the lockers across from her. She noticed the red marker one of them had in their hands and chuckled sarcastically.

"Really cute," she bit. "Pick up your trash."

She walked away and one of the girls scowled at the back of her head. "She would be the one to kill her whole family, huh?"

"Watch your mouth," Haknyeon snapped as he walked by, giving them a look that made them shut up. "You're all smart enough to know what being a good person looks like, right?"

The group of kids scoffed as Haknyeon walked off, but picked up the note they left in Chisoo's locker, nonetheless.

Chisoo sat in her seat next to Sangyeon and crossed her arms. "I can't believe people still bully like that."

"What?" Sangyeon turned, not hearing her.

"Nothing," Chisoo sighed. "I was talking to myself."

Mrs. and Mr. Ju sat in front of the two police officers, nervous as to what they had to say. They didn't think Chisoo would have killed her whole family on purpose, but the looks on the officer's faces had them wondering.

"After investigating Chisoo's car, we didn't find anything incriminating enough to say that she purposely killed her family," the officer paused and held up his hand. "But there was a feature that somehow survived the wreck in her car that shows what time seatbelts are buckled. The wreck happened at eleven-twenty two p.m., and Chisoo's seatbelt wasn't buckled at all that day."

"Okay, so she was driving without her seatbelt on," Mr. Ju said, almost defensively. "What does that mean for your investigation?"

"We need to investigate her for an attempted murder-suicide."

Mrs. Ju looked away as her eyes glossed over. This whole thing was ridiculous to her, because she knew that that wreck was a tragic accident and nothing more.

"So you're letting rumors made by a teenage girl from her school control the fact that you opened a completely new investigation?" Mrs. Ju mumbled angrily. "Why can't you understand that car accidents happen, and sometimes in the most tragic way? That can't he hard, right?"

"We have to cover our bases, ma'am." The second officer said.

"And after you've covered your bases? What will you do when you find out that she's innocent and all you've done was pour salt into an open wound?" Mr. Ju questioned.

"We have a feeling that we'll find something," the first officer stated bluntly. "Then we'll arrest her on the correct charges."

Mrs. Ju gave them a look and scoffed as she stood up. "Get out of our house, right now. How dare you say such a thing?"

The officers curtly apologized and saw themselves out, leaving Haknyeon's parents to talk. Both of them weren't sure what to say. It all seemed like a bad fever dream, a nightmare, maybe. They just wanted Chisoo to learn how to live with her trauma in peace, but everyone around her was making that hard.

"I can't imagine how hard this is for her." Mrs. Ju whispered into the silence.

"All we can do at this point is be there for her, honey," her husband patted her back. "She has Haknyeon, too. She'll be strong throughout everything. I know it."

"She shouldn't have to be strong," Haknyeon's mother shook her head. "She's been strong enough."

Haknyeon and Chisoo walked through the front door, but froze when they say Haknyeon's parents sitting on the couch waiting for them.

"Go ahead and sit, kids."

Haknyeon and Chisoo shared a glance as they sat down. Haknyeon sat in the chair and Chisoo sat on the arm of it.

"The police came by today and told us that nothing incriminating was found in the investigation of your car," Mrs. Ju said. "But they did say that you weren't wearing your seatbelt the night of the wreck."

Chisoo looked down, trying to remember. "I wasn't. Are they gonna charge me for that or something?"

"No," Mr. Ju clasped his hands. "They're investigating you for attempted murder-suicide."

Haknyeon looked up at his sister with sad eyes as he watched her shoulders slump. "Really?"

"Were you suicidal at all, honey?"

Chisoo shook her head, tearing up at the mere thought that she would be investigated for that. "Not then, no."

"Not then?" Haknyeon whispered from beside her.

"I'm not," she stuttered at her slip up. "I'm not suicidal. If the wreck was my attempt at a murder-suicide, I would've been long gone by now."

It was a bit dark, but she had a point. After realizing that she survived, it was likely that she would've tried again not long after. It was a touchy subject, and Chisoo looked like she was in pain just speaking about it.

"I just want to feel normal again," she mumbled. "But I can't, because everyone thinks I killed my family on purpose. That in itself is traumatizing."

She stood up and hurried off to her bedroom. Haknyeon went after her, leaning against her doorframe as she sat on her bed.

"Company?" He asked.

"Sure."

He quietly walked into the room and sat across from her. He watched as she ran her hand over the ink on her arm, a very empty look on her face.

"What's on your mind?" He whispered. "I know you might not want to talk it out, but it's better to."

"I'm seen as a freak now," she took a moment to say as she rubbed her eyes with her trembling fingers. "I don't see the point anymore. I really don't."

Haknyeon watched her for a second, and he saw that she was giving up. She couldn't take much more - he was aware of the unspoken words.

"There's always a point, Chisoo. Sometimes it just takes a while to see, okay?"

Chisoo nodded, knowing very well that she didn't believe him. She had no intentions of believing him, or anyone who told her that there was a point to all of this or that everything would be fine.

Nothing would be fine after being accused of getting her family killed on purpose.

And part of Haknyeon knew that not everything would be fine. She was losing a lot. She first lost her family, then she lost her boyfriend and best friend, now she was losing the normalcy around her. She was losing touch with her happiness, she was losing weight like crazy, and all he wanted to do was take care of her. He wanted to keep her on her feet.

Because no one else would.
