"Chisoo," a voice called to the girl. "Chisoo, wake up."

Chisoo's eyes widened as the voice speaking to her finally registered. She sat up and threw herself at the boy, the boy who she thought she lost forever.

"Woah," Chiwon laughed and peeled her off of him, only to see tears falling off of her jaw and onto her shirt. "What's wrong, Chisoo?"

"I thought everyone was dead," she cried, her chest jumping with every word. "I was the only one that made it out alive."

Chiwon furrowed his eyebrows and patted her back. "We've all been perfectly fine since you fell asleep last night."

Chisoo felt like she had been hit by a bus. She was only dreaming - no one died, no one adopted her, Hayoon never broke up with her, Younghoon never came back, and Sangyeon didn't even know her name. There was no way a dream could feel that tangible, right? She felt like she could still feel a ghost of Sangyeon next to her.

"Okay, let's get you downstairs," Chiwon finally said. "Maybe you need something to eat."

Walking through the courtyard of the school was hard. Chisoo tried not to look around too much. She didn't want to see Sangyeon and all the memories that she made with him in her feverish dream. He was only a stranger to her, they had never once been introduced, so why did her dream hone in on him? It could have been Hayoon. Younghoon, even.

But it was Sangyeon.

"There's my pretty girl."

Chisoo tensed up as Hayoon wrapped his arms around her and leaned into the crook of her neck. She couldn't stand his touch now. Poor thing, he didn't even do anything to her. All she did was fall asleep and ended up falling in love with another boy.

"Hey, Hayoon." Chisoo forced out.

He kissed her cheek and held her hand, now walking beside her. "Did you see Dajung? She's smothering Sangyeon."

Chisoo looked up at her boyfriend and followed his gaze across the courtyard. Standing near the entrance was Dajung, and she was talking to Sangyeon. Talking to the boy that Chisoo wanted so bad. Oddly enough, Dajung made a trio with Hayoon and Chisoo in this reality. They were as close as could be. Was her dream a precursor to the betrayal she would later feel from the girl?

"Poor guy," Hayoon sighed. "He'll never get away from her now."

Chisoo hummed and watched the two interact for a moment longer. As she was turning away, she caught a glimpse of a moth, a beautiful one at that. This was odd to her, it was a hot summer day so the butterflies should have been out, right?

She shrugged it off as the moth landed on Dajung's shoulder and Sangyeon didn't hesitate to flick it off her shoulder and send it to the ground.

The Sangyeon she fell in love with loved moths. Chisoo was his moth, the girl who deserved more love than anyone.

"One second, Hayoon."

Chisoo let go of his hand and ran across the courtyard. Dajung stared Chisoo down the closer she got, but Chisoo still bent down and scooped the hurt moth in her hands. The poor thing had a broken wing. It wouldn't be able to get anywhere.

"Chisoo, it's just a moth." Dajung said.

Chisoo looked at Sangyeon. He was already looking at her, but with something blank in his eyes. There was no emotion, but she couldn't expect any from him. It wasn't like they shared the same dream.

So Chisoo took the moth and tore her gaze away from Sangyeon as she walked away. It didn't matter if it was a dream or if it was reality; she would never get everything she wanted, and somewhere along the line, there's always a moth who won't quite get the love a butterfly should.

Chisoo would never escape the Betrayal of a Moth.
