Chapter 1
Kathryn's POV
I wake up from the wooden chair that I was sleeping in. I look over at the bed, and I see Shay and he is still unconscious. I look at his face and I see that there is a scratch on his left eye.
I look at his chest and I see that the bleeding has finally stopped. I see his chest moving up and down. I look at his face again and he looks pale from the blood loss.
I hold on to his hand. A few tears roll down my face. I feel powerless seeing Shay in this state. I feel his hand grip my hand. I look at him.
"Don't cry love," Shay voice sounds a little hoarse. I nod and I wipe my tears away. Shay lets go of my hand and he moves slightly to over to the other side of the bed, "lie down with me," I shake my head.
"No, your injured," I say, "I don't want to cause you anymore pain," Shay shakes his head.
"The only way you could hurt me is by leaving me," Shay says. I lean down and I kiss his lips.
"How could you think that I would leave you?" I ask him. Shay sighs.
"You almost did when we were arguing in Achilles's study," Shay says coldly, then he looks away from me.
"Shay, no matter what you do, I would never leave you," I tell him. Shay looks back at me. I smile and I get in the bed with him.
Shay wraps his arms around me and I lay my head down on his chest, careful not to touch is wounds. Shay takes in a sharp breath of pain. I take my head of his chest, and I look at him with worry. Shay sees the worry on my face.
"Don't worry, I'm fine," Shay tells me. I shake my head.
"No your not," I tell him, I sit up from the bed, "for god sakes you were shot, and there is a whole in your chest, and not to mention you fell down a 50 foot drop!" I bring my knees to my chest and I start to cry, "you almost died,"
Shay holds on to his chest and he sits up. He groans in pain. He seems to ignore the pain and he wraps his arms around me and he starts to kiss my neck. He puts his hand on my stomach and he rubs circles with his thumb around my stomach.
"I'm here, and I'm not going anywhere," Shay tells me. I look at him, and I place my hand on his cheek. I give him a weak smile. Then I softly push him back down on the bed.
"You should lie back down," I tell him. He lies back down on the bed. But then pulls me with him. I sigh and I kiss his lips. Then I feel something warm on my side. I look and I see blood. I examine Shay's wound and I more blood seeping through his clothes, "oh god," I put my hand on his wound and press down on it to try and stop the bleeding. I grab Shay's hand and I put his hand on his wound, "keep pressure on it! I'm going to look for some bandages,"
I look in some drawers and the cabinets, but I can't find anything. I run up to Shay and I quickly check on him. He is unconscious again from the blood loss. I look around some more and I find a towel and I put it on his wound and I press down on it.
Then some crew members come in and Coronal Monroe. Coronal looks at me worried.
"What happened here, I thought the bleeding stopped," he says.
"He sat up trying to comfort me," I say without looking at him.
"Were in New York," Coronal Monroe tells me, "I know some people that can help your husband," I nod.
"Thank you," I say, "but can we hurry up and get him there please!" Coronal Monroe nods. The crew pick him up and they put him on a stretcher. We get off the ship and me and the crew follow Coronal Monroe.
We follow him to a house. Coronal Monroe knocks on the door, and a old woman answers it. She looked kind enough.
"Ah Coronal Monroe, what brings you here?" She says, then she sees Shay on the stretcher, "bring him in,"
We walk inside and she brings the crew and Shay upstairs. A moment later the crew comes back down without Shay. A old man walks in the house, and he sees us. He's about to say something when the old woman calls him up.
"Barry, bring up the bandages!" The old woman yells for him.
"What for Cassidy!" He yells.
"A man is injured!" She yells back down. Barry goes to a cabinet and he grabs some bandages and he brings them up stairs. I look at the Coronal.
"Who are these people?" I ask him. He looks at me.
"Barry and Cassidy Finnegan," Coronal Monroe says, "I worked with their late son a while back," I nod. About 30 minutes later both Barry and Cassidy come back down stairs. I walk up to them.
"How is he?" I ask them. They look at me, then back at the Coronal.
"Who is she Coronal?" Barry asks.
"Barry!" Cassidy yells at his rudeness.
"I'm Kathryn Cormac, my husband, Shay Cormac, is the person you just helped," I smile and I hold out my hand. They both smile and they shake my hand.
"Its nice to meet you, Kathryn," Cassidy kindly says, "as for your husband he will be on bed rest for a while, but he will be okay," I smile.
"Thank you," I say gratefully, "may I see him?" She nods she takes me up stairs to his room.
When we walk in I see that he is striped of most of his cloths. Leaving him in only is britches. He had bandages on his chest, and on his left arm. Cassidy nudges my arm.
"Come let him rest," Cassidy tells me, "you must be starving," then I hear my stomach growl. I hold onto my stomach, and I rub some circles around it. I didn't realize Cassidy was watching we do this.
"Your with child," she says. I look at her, "I assume your husband knows," I nod my head, "let's get you something to eat," she holds onto my arm, and we walk to the kitchen.
