Atsushi didn't know how they ended up the way they did but what he did know is that he doesn't exactly hate it.

It started with the tail ends of a mission, one where the Port Mafia and the Armed Detective Agency needed to aid one another. Atsushi himself had finished talking to the police officer while Akutagawa waited just out of sight behind the corner of a building. Making his way to the slightly older male he readied himself to bid farewell until they ultimately ended up paired together once again for a mission that needed their combined abilities, which also would benefit both organizations.

"That's that, I've finished giving my statement to the officer and we've wrapped up everything we needed to. You ready to be on our way or does the Port Mafia need anything else?" Atsushi rounded the corner but instead of stopping to converse with the mafioso he kept walking and Akutagawa didn't waste a beat in falling into step right next to the albino male.
