Third Person POV

"Well, hello, Mr. Varodom, how nice to hear from you! How are things going on your end?" Mean tried to make his voice as friendly as possible.

"Things are going great!" Kimmon replied, "and please, just call me Kim, if we're going to be business partners, we should feel comfortable being on first name basis, don't you agree?"

"I certainly do," Mean replied, "hey listen, are we pushing through with opening a branch of my Wood Flame Pizza (A/N: doesn't exist, just all part of this fiction) in your city?"

"Of course!" Kimmon replied enthusiastically, "it's the reason I'm calling."

"Give me one second," Mean said, buzzing Copter on Copter's end.

"Yes, sir?"

Mean gritted his teeth at Copter's "sir". That word was starting to sound like a swear word to Mean.

"Cop, can you please check if I have anything happening at lunchtime today?"

After a brief pause, Copter answered, "Your lunchtime is blank, sir."

"How about yours?" Mean asked.

"Huh?" Copter was taken by surprise with Mean's question.

"I'm asking if you had any plans for your lunchtime, Copter."

"I... I... I'm not going anywhere, sir, I was just planning to eat at the company cafeteria as usual."

"Very well," said Mean, and released the button for the intercom and pressed the button with Kimmon on the other end, "So, Kim, if you're free to meet up with me for lunch today, I'd love to treat you to a restaurant of your choice."

"Umm... gimme a quick sec here," said Kimmon, quickly making a few taps on his phone screen, "well whaddaya know, I am free as the wind right now!"

"Great! Let's meet up in my company cafeteria at twelve noon," said Mean.

There was a brief silence on the other end.

"I thought you said you were gonna treat me for lunch in a restaurant of my choice," said Kimmon, his pout showing clearly through his voice.

Mean couldn't help laughing out loud, "I was just kidding. Tell me where you wanna go."

Another brief silence and then, "How about that Cajun restaurant just a few blocks from the mall?"

"That sounds good to me!" said Mean, "I've tried it before. Their dishes taste excellent!"

"It's a date then!" said Kimmon.

"It's gonna be a threesome, if you don't mind," Mean said, waiting for a reaction from Kimmon.

"What do you mean?" Kimmon asked in a cautious tone.

"I'm gonna be bringing my personal assistant with me," Mean explained, "I usually ask him to be present in my business meetings, but this will be the first time that he will be present in a business lunch."

"Wait, did I hear you say 'he', 'him'?" asked Kimmon.

"You sound disappointed," Mean said with a short laugh.

"Well, I was hoping that your personal assistant was a tall, pretty, sexy lady," said Kimmon, the disappointment very much evident in his voice.

"I'm sorry to disappoint you," said Mean, "but at the same time I'm happy that you won't be interested in my personal assistant, so you will be able to focus on the minutes of our meeting."

"Let's meet at twelve on the dot, then," said Kimmon, eager to end the call because there was another call coming in and it was a call he had been waiting for.

"Great, see you at twelve," Mean replied.

As soon as Kimmon cut the call with Mean, he swiped right on the incoming call.

"Yes, sweetheart," he said, his voice changing from businesslike to a honeyed one.

"I just arrived at the airport. I will be boarding the plane back to Bangkok in two hours. I should be back there before evening."

"That's great!" Kimmon exclaimed, "call me as soon as you land, I will pick you up from the airport."

"I will, honey," said Plan, "see you soon."

"I love you, stay safe," said Kimmon, and cut the call. He did not get to hear Plan saying "I love you back."

Back at his desk, Copter was busy printing out some correspondences that Mean needed to sign when Mean stopped by Copter's desk.

"Cop, can you be ready in five minutes? I need you to be present with me at a business lunch with Mr. Varodom. He is our prospective client. He is interested in opening a branch of our business in his city. I know that there's no other pizza place in his city that offers the kind of pizza that we cater. So I expect to get a good result financially from this meeting."

"Very well, sir," said Copter.

"Can you please stop it already with your calling me "sir", huh? Huh? Will it give you a massive headache if you were to start calling me by my first name?"

"No, s... I mean, no, of course not."

"Of course not, what?"

"M...Mean."

"Let's go," Mean said with a wide smile.

"Please give me a few minutes," said Copter, rushing to the men's room.

"Sure," said Mean but internally saying, 'don't try to make yourself look more attractive than you already are. I don't want that Kimmon guy falling for you like I already have. And it would be really good if you didn't smile at all during introductions because your cute dimples always show whenever you smile.'

Copter quickly pulled out his mini comb from the small inside pocket of his waistband and did a few flicks on his hair with it and checked carefully in the bathroom mirror to make sure that nothing in his appearance looked less than professional. Then he walked back to his desk where Mean was waiting, looking him up and down appreciatively.

Mean waited for Copter to settle on the front seat of his car.

When it looked like Copter was not going to put his seatbelt on, Mean quickly leaned towards Copter to grab his seatbelt. In doing so, his cheek brushed against Copter's lips, making Copter draw a sharp breath and leaning backwards against his seat as far away as possible.

"I'm sorry," Mean said, almost in a whisper, "I only meant to buckle you up."

"You could have just reminded me to buckle up," said Copter in an annoyed tone, "I could have easily buckled up myself."

"I'm sorry," Mean said again, in what he thought was a sincerely contrite tone.

When they reached the restaurant, Kimmon was already seated at the reserved seat that Mean had asked Copter to make earlier in the day.

As soon as Kimmon saw Mean, he stood up from his seat. And then his eyes fell on Copter.

"Well, well, well!" Kimmon said with a very bright smile.
