Earth's POV

"Good morning, sir," my secretary greeted me as I walked past her to go into my office.

I nodded to her to acknowledge her greeting.

She immediately followed me into my office and handed me several folders as soon as I settled behind my desk.

"These are the contracts that you need to review before signing them," she said.

Then she handed me a separate folder with a pocket inside it.

"And these contains the checks that you need to sign so that the city can pay for the services of the companies that we are dealing with," she said.

I nodded, accepting the folder together with the others that she had handed to me.

"Are there any meetings that I have to attend today?" I asked my secretary. Her name was Ella.

"Yes, sir, you have to meet with the head city engineer at ten this morning," she replied.

"Remind me a half hour before the meeting, no, wait, don't worry I will set my alarm on my phone," I said, already digging into my pocket to take out my phone.

I gasped upon seeing a missed call from Plan. No, it was not just one missed call, it was three missed calls. And he had tried calling me last night. How could I have missed his calls. What must he be thinking of me now. A no good acquaintance, that's for sure. Unreliable, undependable, unworthy to be a friend.

Instead of setting my alarm a half hour before my meeting with the head city engineer, I tapped on Plan's number.

My heart was in my throat as I waited for him to take my call.

No such luck. My call went to his voice mail.

I decided to try calling him again after my meeting. If he took my call, I would invite him to have lunch with me.

I then remembered to set my alarm a half hour before my scheduled meeting. I always wanted to prepare meticulously for any meeting. As the city mayor I needed to always be knowledgeable about whatever discussion I had to have with the person I was going to meet with.

When my alarm went off I buzzed my secretary to come to my office.

"Are there any additional stuff that I need to know about our newly appointed head city engineer?" I asked her.

"I believe everything that you need to know is in the folder I gave you earlier," she replied.

"Very well, then," I said, reaching for the folder that she had indicated to me.

She had almost reached the door when she stopped and turned around to look at me.

"Oh, one additional fact about our new head city engineer..." she said. "... I heard that he is very good looking."
