Chapter 1

Third Person POV

The wedding organizers went about frantically converting the large conference room into a wedding chapel as the main wedding planner barked orders at them.

The whole wedding planning team was thirty minutes late arriving at the lakeside resort because their van had broken down along the way and it took some time for the roadside assistance trouble shooter of their insurance company to fix its mechanical problem.

The wedding planner panicked even more when she saw a few cars of the guests making their way into the 'guests only' parking area of the resort.

The last giant red bow was being attached to the last pew when the first two guests, a handsome looking pair of young men walked into the chapel.

Before too long all the benches in each pew were filled with smiling guests dressed in their finery and smelling of expensive colognes and perfumes, all of them unmistakably signature products.

With one fluid motion, the guests stood from their seats when they heard the first few notes being played by the wedding pianist. They all looked in the direction of the aisle as two gorgeous looking young men dressed in their tuxedos walked in. One of the pair was beaming with a happy excited smile while the other had the ghost of a smile and appeared nervous. Actually his lower lip was visibly trembling. He was doing his best to smile but was failing miserably.

The officiating person cleared his throat before speaking into the microphone.

"Dearly beloved guests, we are gathered here today to witness two beautiful souls profess their love for each other and to cement their love during this formal ceremony of which I will officiate. And now, without further ado, I will now proceed with the wedding ceremony."

When the time came for the vows to be made, the beaming one recited his vows without reading from a script. Every single word just came out of him naturally, as if he was saying it to his partner for the very first time.

When it was time for the other guy to pronounce his vows, he pulled out a small piece of paper from his inside vest pocket and started to read from it, stumbling on some words from time to time.

After the last sentence was finally read, the officiating person once more cleared his throat before speaking into the microphone.

"Now that both of these persons have professed their love in my presence I will be now be pronouncing them as partners for life, but before I do so, if there is anyone here present who has an objection to their union, or if there is anyone who believes that he has a valid reason to keep this permanent union from taking place, speak now or forever remain silent."

The officiating person gave everyone a few moments to step forward to speak their objection. When no one stepped forward, he cleared his throat once more.

"I now pronounce this beautiful pair as permanent partners. Both of you may now seal your union with a kiss."

The cheers and applause that filled the chapel was suddenly interrupted with the double doors being opened with a loud noise and two men who looked like police officers barged into the chapel.

The two officers walked quickly and purposefully down the aisle and approached the nervous looking one of the newlywed pair.

"Copter Panuwat Kerdthongtavee, sir, I am an officer of the law. I have come to arrest you on the charge of the crime of adultery. You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law. You have the right to an attorney. If you cannot afford an attorney, one will be provided for you."

As the officer was reading Copter his rights, the other officer had grabbed Copter's wrists and placed them behind him.

The sound of the handcuffs clasping shut echoed in the suddenly quiet hall.

One could see the other young man's face going through all sorts of emotions: shock, fear, disappointment, anger, grief, utter inconsolable grief which was evidenced by two large teardrops slowly making their way down either side of his face.

Every single guest looked on helplessly, numbed with shock as the two officers slowly led Copter down the aisle, his head bent low, refusing to look at anyone, just looking down at his feet as they went step by step towards the exit of the chapel.

"Call the paramedics!" a guest could be heard yelling, as the remaining partner collapsed on the floor of the chapel.
