Chapter 7

I wake up to the TV blaring, I turn the volume down, and pull out my phone again. There's a text from Caleb. "Wanna hang?" I smile. Most people hate their older brothers, but mine is amazing! We may fight, all the time, but in the end he'll always be there to protect me.

I text him back, "Sure dork." I lock my phone, and walk over to my closet to get dressed. I pull out a pair of patterned leggings, and my AL sweatshirt. I brush my hair out, and pull it into a side braid.

'Are we getting food?' I text Caleb. I brush my teeth, and slip on some converse. I get a text back, 'yes.' I smile, awesome sauce.

'I need a ride!' I have my own car, but it's easier to carpool. 'Chad's on his way.' I smile, these boys are wrapped around my finger. By the snap of my fingers, I can convince them to do anything.

Chad pulls up to m house 10 minutes later. "Morning Alli," he says groggily. "Morning princess," I mumble, hopping in the front seat.

He doesn't speak, probably too tired. He pulls into a McDonald's parking lot. This must be breakfast.

"Alright, girl, whaddya want?" I laugh, "Biscuts and sausage gravy! And orange juice!" Chad orders that, 3 sides of bacon, and a coffee.

We eat quietly, until Chad reaches over and takes one of my bacon slices. "Put it back, mister," I demand. He doesn't listen. Chad pops the bacon into his mouth, chews, then licks his lips, "That piece was most delicious." I mumble, "I hate you, Chaddy." He smiles, "Love you too, Alli."

He pulls the car up to his house, we must be meeting here today. We both get out. Chad gives me a side hug, and together we walk inside. Everybody is laying on the living room floor, still in pajamas. My guess is they woke up, and came here.

I have to hug every single person here. I hug Alan, Brycie, Avery, Presley, Fallon, Joey, Kelsey, and last my brother. I join them all on the floor, and turn my gaze to the TV. The Polar Express is on.

"Caleb, can I have some hot chocolate?" I ask, quietly. He smiles, and walks off to make it for me.

"Let's play Apples To Apples!" Joey exclaims. Alan rushes off, and returns with Apples To Apples Junior Edition.

We play for about 2 hours, oh and not to brag but I'm the queen! Afterwards, my brother offers to have a special lunch, just the two of us.

He drops me off at my house to change, "Be back in 20. You better be ready." I nod, "Aye aye cap'n!"

I rush inside, and tear open the closet door. I find a dress, the perfect dress, Caleb has always loved this one. It's royal purple, and comes down to my knees. It has short sleeves, that are lace.

I put it on, and get my favorite, black, ballet flats. I turn on my curler, and do loose, soft curls all through my hair. I glide on a red lipstick just as Caleb pulls into the driveway. I grab my purse, and rush out to his car.

"You look beautiful, Allison," he grins. "Thanks, bub, you don't look too shabby yourself." I point at his tux. He flashes me another smile, before we both get into his car.

He drives me to one of the fanciest restaurants in town, and surprisingly he has reservations. We get to our table, and order our drinks.

"Alli, this is your night, order whatever you want," Caleb says, smiling. "Thanks bubby!" I look down at my menu, everything looks so good.

Once a year, Caleb tries to have a brother/sister date. I love them! We've been doing them since he was sixteen.

I finally decide on a chicken steak thingy. The waiter comes back with drinks, and takes our orders, then he disappears again.

"So, Alli, have you told him yet?" He asks grinning. "Told who what?" I ask, feeling confused. "Joey. Have you told Joey that you like him?"

I give him a shocked look, "How did you know?!" He grins again, "Alli, you know I can read you like an open book. It's obvious that you're crushing on him. You have to tell him before it's too late!"

The waiter comes back with our food, we quickly thank him as he rushes off to a different table.

"Caleb, Joey doesn't like me! We're just like siblings! He could never date me!" I exclaim. "Calm down, sis," Caleb says, placing him arm on mine. After I've sat back down, he speaks again. "He loves you. He really does, he might love you more than I do. I can see it in his eyes. Allison, you need to tell him you feel the same way."

I don't know what to say, Joey really loves me. "Are you sure?" I ask, for clarification. "Have you seen the way he looks at you? It's the same way I look at Kelsey, or Chad looks at Fallon, or Alan looks at Brycie. I see true passion in his eyes. I know you feel the same way, so admit it."

I smirk, "Fine! I love Joey, I just don't wanna ruin our current relationship." Caleb smiles, "That's understandable. Don't wait for Joey to make a move, that loser wouldn't. Make the first move, ask him out, he'll say yes." I appreciate all this advice, but I'm still not sure.

"I'll talk to the girls about it," I smile. "What? Is your older brother no good at giving advice?" Caleb asks, looking hurt. "Caleb, I love you, but I need to talk to a female." He smiles, "I love you too, Alli. Now let's eat!"
