The Ball was held in the school's gymnasium, the theme was A Walk Among the Stars, it was decorated with many stars and white and blue curtains that gave the place a dreamy feeling.

The limo ride was duper fun. Tommy and Raoul showed what great team mates they are while Mark was just too busy ogling Kelly who was stunning.

When we arrived at the ball I was feeling nervous to see Jamie, we've been acting weird around each other and Orchid haven't left his side for the entire two weeks, at lunchtime I've been sitting with Raoul, just to avoid drama with the queen of the cheerleaders.

"We are next, ma chérie"

Raoul's voice brought me back to the ball, I hadn't realized I've been thinking about Jamie and blocked reality out. I smiled at him, we were on the queue waiting for our picture to be taken when I heard a commotion from the entrance. We turned to see what everyone was looking at and I wasn't surprised to see everyone gawking at the one and only Orchid Lu walking triumphantly into the gym looking beautiful in an olive green dress with an extra handsome Jamie by her arm. He was smiling shyly, I know he hates when people stare at him, the girls were sighing and the boys were checking Orchid out.

Behind Jamie and his flower, came Jack walking hand in hand with Sarah, Orchid's best friend and second in command of the cheerleaders. She was beautiful too in a blue dress that clung onto her curbs and her natural long curly blonde hair falling over her shoulders. She has a warm smile but her best friend makes sure that she never shows her sweet self.

Jamie met my gaze and my heart skipped a beat. He looked so handsome. He started to give me a smile when his gaze met Raoul's. Then his smile disappeared and the change of color in his eyes let me know that he was starting to get mad.

Raoul gently  pulled me by the hand into de photo booth and let the curtain, that was supposed to give us some privacy, ajar.

He sat on the only chair there was in the booth and smiled at me.

"Come, mon amour, sit on my lap"

I looked at him, then at his lap, then outside the booth and met Jamie staring at us.

"Aren't we supposed to close the curtain?"

He shook his head.

"Non, non. I'm claustrophobic"

And as always his accent allured me and I couldn't seem to think straight and sat on his lap returning his contagious smile.

"Look at the camera Amelie"

We had four takes so first we just smiled, then Raoul stuck his tongue out and so did I, which made us laugh out loud and I threw my head back touching his face with my hair and I felt the goose bumps traveling from my neck to my arms when I felt his breath against my skin so I turned around to face him and suddenly the world stopped as I felt him leaning in to kiss me.

I closed my eyes and leaned forward to kiss him and I heard a voice from outside the photo booth.

"Oh hell no! I'm bloody killing him!"

"Mate! Calm down! Come with me!"

I didn't need to be outside to know whom the first voice belonged to. Jamie sounded mad so I jumped out of Raoul's lap and walked out of the booth. I found a steaming Orchid while Jamie was  being walked out by Jack. I stood there watching him walk away and didn't know if I should go after him or just enjoy myself with Raoul ignoring my best friend.

I understand why Jamie is mad, after all Raoul doesn't have the best reputation at school but he's kind, funny and most importantly, Tommy trusts him. Jamie, on the other hand, has this hatred towards Raoul that I can't quite understand.

"Simona is calling us over"

Raoul's tugged on my hand and led me over the place where Simona and Tommy were.

"There you are! What took you guys so long?"

Simona started fussing with the strap of my dress which, according to her, was crooked.

As I was about to tell them what happened with Jamie, Raoul interrupted me.

"Nothing important. Come dance Ma Chérie"

"Great idea!"

Simona stood frantically pulling Tommy's hand in the process. Raoul gave me one of his signature smiles and I just walked with him to the dance floor.

And as on cue my favorite song, Ray of Light, started.

Simona and I let out a girly yell and jumped up and down to the rhythm of Madonna's best hit so far!

"And I feel like I just got home and I feel....."

As Simona and I are singing our hearts out Raoul pulled me to him and started singing along, which made me smile and jump around with my arms upwards.

When the song was over I was feeling incredibly thirsty so Raoul offered to get some sodas with Tommy while Simona and I headed to the ladies room before we got to the door my eye caught the sight of Kelly's dress so I signaled Simona to come with me and as soon as we got closer we were stunned by seeing Kelly against the wall being attacked by Mark's tongue, well, she was definitely enjoying it because she her hands were all over his hair.

"Ewwwwww"

Simona and I screamed before we started laughing hysterically. Kelly was obviously embarrassed and Mark had a deep shade of red on his cheek but he kept his cool, cleared his throat and told Kelly that he was going to get them some refreshments. Once Mark was gone, Simona and I pushed Kelly towards the restroom.

"Ok Miss Kelly, spill the beans"

Simona crossed her arms and lifted an eyebrow which always intimidates us because we know that no matter what we do, we end up telling her all she wants to know.

I found  the entire situation amusing so I just stood next to Simona enjoying the show.

So Kelly started her story.

"When Mark and I got into the photo booth we kissed. Well... He kissed me first, then I kissed him, then he kissed me and then..."

"Ok! Ok! We get it you guys kissed..."

Kelly started applying lipstick and rearranging her hairdo.

"I thought you wanted me to tell you the story"

Simona rolled her eyes.

"We do! Just skip all the kinky parts"

Kelly stopped her task and I could see through the mirror that she had blushed. So I cut in.

"So are you guys dating?"

That brought a sweet smile on her lips.

"He's just asked me to be his girlfriend"

"Awwwwwweeeeeee"

Simona and I sighed and went to hug our best friend.

After our moment, we finished freshening up and exited the bathroom Kelly was first, followed by Simona then myself.

As I was walking I could see Raoul, Mark and Tommy mingling and laughing at some joke Jack was telling them. I frowned because all the boys were together but Jamie.

Then someone grabbed my hand.

"Dance with me"

I looked up to find Jamie smiling sweetly at me.

Should I dance with him?

What would happen if I do?

I'm sure Orchid would be furious and Raoul would be upset.

I don't want to ever disappoint Raoul.

However, Jamie's beautiful blue eyes were encouraging me to say yes. So I nodded and returned his smile.

I didn't pay attention to what song was playing at the moment, I only cared about us, my best friend and I.

When we got to the dance floor Jamie shyly put his hands around my waist and pulled me towards him so our bodies were touching, I put my arms around his neck and we started moving together to the music.

Jamie came closer to my ear and spoke.

"You look beautiful"

I smiled proudly because to be honest, I've dressed up and allowed the girls to put all that make up on me because I wanted to look pretty and I wanted him to find me pretty.

We were moving to the song when the DJ played MMMBOP by Hanson.

Jamie and I were dancing twirling around and moving to the song when Simona and Tommy joined us followed by Kelly and Mark, we were missing only Jack to complete our group. And Raoul... I felt uneasy and guilty for leaving him by himself so I promised myself that that was the last song I would dance with Jamie so I decided to enjoy myself.

We were having the time of our lives when Orchid came to me and pushed me.

"What the...."

"YOU! STUPID BITCH! YOU ALWAYS FIND A WAY TO GET IN MY NERVES!!!!"

"What is wrong with you?"

She growled.

"WITH ME? YOU ARE THE ONE WHO IS ALWAYS...."

"ENOUGH!"

Jamie didn't let her finish and stood in front of me followed by Tommy and Simona towering over me.

And it felt wrong, this was my fight so I pushed my way through them.

"Excuse me! I can defend myself!"

"Yeah that's right! This is between this bitch and I"

"What got you so mad Orchid? Please enlighten us!"

She let out an exasperated humph and rolled her eyes.

"You are so desperate to get Jamie that you couldn't wait for me to walk out of his side for a second that you already have your cheap nail polished claws all over my man"

"Your man? How funny! Well he didn't care about you while dancing with me"

She gasped at my statement and came closer to whisper in my ear.

"You are such a little whore, aren't you Warner?"

That was it.

I felt the rush of heat coming from my toes to my head and all I wanted was to slap that smirk off her face.

So I slapped her.

The slap was so hard that  it made an echo throughout the gym and everyone stopped dancing to see what was happening so I turned around and walked out of the ball leaving a shocked Orchid behind along with my stunned friends.

As I was reaching the exit, the rush of adrenaline wore off and it was replaced by embarrassment.

How could I do that?

I've just slapped the most popular girl of school in front of everybody.

I'm so death Monday morning.

As soon as I walked out the door I was hit by the cold and the strong smell of smoke.

And there he was, my French dark knight.

"Smoking can kill you, you know?"

He smirked.

With the cigarette hanging from his lips.

He looked so handsome and mysterious and stress free.

"What's bugging you ma chérie? You look upset"

I roll my eyes.

"How come every time I'm upset you seem to always be there for me?"

He threw his cigarette away and took his suit jacket off and placed it around my shoulders.

"Because I am"

I looked at him confused because the proximity of his sexy scent distracted me and I didn't know what he was talking about.

"I'm here for you. What happened? I thought you were dancing with your Prince Charming"

He knew I was dancing with Jamie.

Now I was embarrassed for a different reason. I hate disappointing people. I hate disappointing him.

"Sorry"

"About what?"

"For leaving you alone. I came here with you. I shouldn't have danced with him. I'm sorry"

"It's ok. You're here with me now"

He came very close. His face was mere inches away from mine.

"Danse avec moi. Dance with me"

His voice was so seductive. So I did the only thing I do when he's so close to me. I nodded. He grabbed a hold of my waist and I put my arms around his neck. We could hardly hear the music from inside the gym but we were dancing to our own rhythm.

Suddenly Raoul stopped and looked into my eyes.

"You are so beautiful! I want to kiss you so much!"

My eyes widened.

"But I understand you are not ready. I'm a patient man, Amelie. I will wait for you to like me the way I like you. And I will only kiss you when you ask me to"

My heart skipped a beat and I lost it.

I reached for him and kissed him.

I took him by surprise but he responded to my kiss.

We kissed for what it felt like hours then he broke the kiss and grabbed my face between his hands.

"Be my girlfriend. I know this is contradicting what I've just told you but I really want you to be mine"

I smiled feeling incredibly happy.

I really like this boy.

"Oui!"

"What?"

He smiled.

"Yes, Raoul. I want to be your girlfriend"

He smiled and was about to kiss me again when he stopped and looked concerned.

"Are you sure? What about Dornan?"

Yes Amelia, what about Jamie?

Something inside my head asked me.

"He's just a friend. I like you and I do want to be your girlfriend"

He smiled and kissed me again, this time he dominated the kiss and I felt all the butterflies in my stomach explode.

This is my first boyfriend.

I shall forget about Jamie....
