This is the 3rd Episode:

A few days had since your encounter with Kazumi and Aqua and Kazumi was still considering your offer to teach her magic in exchange for working for you.

Your offer had no time limit after all.

Though you couldn't even teach her magic at this current time anyway.

When she got herself registered at the Adventurer's guild she found out she was apparently so low-level the only job she could have was being a merchant.

She had no skill points to learn even the most basic of any spells you had to teach her.

So, you'd wait until she came to you with an answer.

To be honest, it was no big deal weather she said yes or not.

The only reason you agreed was because you wanted to see her in that cute outfit.

Kazumi's outfit was strange but adorable.

But it was no big deal if she said no.

No real loss for you.

Right now, you had bigger things to worry about anyway.

You're a merchant, not only do you sell weapons, armor and equipment, but potions as well.

And right now you were out of stock on a certain potion.

A potion that allowed one to breathe underwater.

A handy potion for anyone to have.

So of course you'd need to restock and so that means you'd have to find go out and find ingredients to make the potion.

A main ingredient in this potion were the eyes of giant toads.

Normal toad eyes would do but one pair of eyes were only enough for one bottle.

But just two giant toad eyes were enough to produce 30 bottles of potion.

So Giant Toads made things easier for you.

You'd rather fight a few giant toads than try to find millions of tiny toads and take their eyes.

And luckily for you, it was currently mating season for Giant Toads which meant they were more active and easier to find.

The Toads required energy to lay their eggs and so they needed food.

They were particularly fond of Goats though occasionally they'd eat humans as well.

Now all you had to do was collect them, which would be easy for someone with your level of power.

And since they liked to eat goats they'd most likely be near farms.

You wouldn't need to worry about running your Shoppe since one of the perks of owning your own business was deciding your own work schedule.

So, every day until giant toad mating season was over you'd go out, get a pair of giant toad eyes, make 30 potions and repeat until you have enough stock to last you at least a year.

Which is why you were out here now in the middle of a grassy field looking for the large Amphibians.

You hovered inches above the ground keeping an ear and eye out for giant frogs.

It didn't take long as your ears picked up a series of loud booming thumps in the distance.

Maybe it was a giant toad hopping, maybe it was just a random monster, either way it was worth investigating.

As you drew closer to the booming thumps you also picked up 2 other sounds.

The sounds of laughter and screaming from 2 girls.

You also recognized the voices producing the screaming and laugher.

You reached the spot which was atop a small grassy hill and as you suspected the one you found laughing was the "Goddess" Aqua laughing her ass off.

"Well, what's got you laughing like this?" You asked with a raised brow.

Aqua still laughing like a Maniac pointed out into the distance and following where she was pointing you saw Kazumi screaming as she ran as fast as her weak legs could carry her with a sword in hand.

And what she was running from was a Giant Toad.

Giant Toads:

"Oh, how lucky." You said with a grin. "For me, not for her."

"SAVE ME AQUA!" Kazumi yelled desperately as she ran for her life from the Amphibian Abomination.

"You should see your face right now!" Aqua said leaning on you for support as she found herself weak from laughter. "It's so red, I can't believe it!"

Aqua continued to laugh, much to the irritation of Kazumi as she glared at the "Goddess" while running for her life.

You had to admit, it was a very funny sight.

Kazumi finally noticed you standing beside Aqua.

"(Y/N), HELP ME!" She screamed at you in desperation tears in her eyes as she just barley dodged the toad's tongue which lashed out at her.

As tempted as you were to watch her run and suffer for your amusemt, you knew that you needed to maintain a somewhat healthy relationship with your customers.

So letting her get eaten by a Giant Toad would probably deter Kazumi from coming to your shop.

Besides, you still needed the toad eyes.

"Okay okay, don't worry." You said before levitating a few feet above the ground and flying at the giant toad at high speed.

You could just blow it up, but you needed the eyes in tact.

As you flew towards the giant toad you spun in the air creating a green whirlwind around your body.

You crashed into the giant road with so much it force it created a shockwave that knocked Kazumi onto the ground and launched the toad a few feet away.

Before the Toad could even get up you quickly raised your hand and this caused a purple spike to rise up from underneath it.

This of course meant the Toad got impaled right through the stomach killing it.

Kazumi let out a sigh of relief while Aqua let out a groan of disappointment at having her good time ruined.

"Thanks." Kazumi sighed dropping to her knees and let go of her sword to rub her face with both hands.

"Don't mention it, I needed Giant Toad Eyes anyway." You stated walking over to the giant toad and proceeded to gently remove the Toad's now lifeless eyes from it's sockets. "So thanks for screaming and letting me know where they were."

Kazumi cringed in disgust as as you casually removed the eyes.

As you did this while Kazumi turned away as to not look at the process you both could hear Aqua yelling at you specifically.

"OH COME ON!" Aqua yelled flailing her arms. "WHY DID YOU DO THAT!?"

You looked at her as you removed the last toad eye.

"I wanted the Toad Eyes." You stated holding up the 2 giant eye balls.

"WELL I HAD DEMANDS FOR KAZUMI IF SHE WANTED ME TO SAVE HER!" Aqua returned and you rolled your eyes.

"You say that like you could have done anything!" Kazumi yelled angrily understandably pissed at Aqua's lack of action.

"HEY DID YOU FORGET YOU'RE TALKING TO A GODDESS!?" Aqua yelled back offended. "I WOULD HAVE DESTROYED THAT SLIMY CREATURE!"

"Well now's your chance to prove it." You stated crossing your arms.

Aqua appeared confused by your statement, but it didn't take long for her to understand what you meant as a Giant Toad which was behind her chomped her down and began swallowing her whole.

Aqua of course did not appreciate become a giant toad's meal and proceeded to scream and kick her legs as she was swallowed.

"AQUA!" Kazumi yelled as she picked up her sword and ran to attack the Amphibian and save the "Goddess."

As this happened you snapped your fingers opening a Star-shaped portal big enough to toss the eyes through which you did.

You'd only take 2.

Giant Toad Eyes are best used for potion making when fresh and wet, if they dry out they're worthless.

They'd be fresh and wet for hours though, long enough for you to get back in town and make your potions.

You would take multiple if they didn't dry out since you don't have a container big enough to Pickle them.

So just a pair will do.

Kazumi despite being a beginner Adventurer managed to kill the Giant Toad and cut Aqua free from the Amphibian's intestines.

Unfortunately Aqua seemed to be sufficiently traumatized as she slid out of the frog covered in green slimy digestive fluids crying.

"It's a good thing it decided to sit still while it was eating you." You commented hovering beside Kazumi who was panting.

You obviously held your nose as you did as a Toad's Digestive fluids stinked to high heavens.

Aqua just kept on crying on the ground in a puddle of toad innards.

"Geez, I actually feel a bit bad for her." You said feeling genuine pity for the useless Bluenette.

You didn't think getting eaten would reduce her to a crying mess, you've seen plenty of other people get eaten and saved and just brushed it off.

Her sobbing made it clear she was probably not built for Adventuring.

Aqua balled her eyes out and began hugging Kazumi thanking her for saving her while Kazumi wretched in disgust.

"Maybe you all should just call it a day." You suggested backing up a bit. "You can always try again after you get better gear...at my Shoppe."

"Yeah, he's right, we should just go back, these toads are too much for us to handle." Kazumi admitted gently shoving Aqua off her.

In response Aqua furiously shook her head.

"I can't go back to town in this state." She whined standing up fully. "If my followers saw me in this disgusting slimy state they'd lose faith in me."

"They haven't already?" You asked with a raised brow.

"Word will spread that a lowly frog bested me and my reputation as a Goddess will be ruined!" She screamed making you and Kazumi sweatdrop.

"I don't get her." Kazumi sighed as you turned to her.

"I've seen you two do construction work around Axel and she was sweating up a storm there." You noted scratching your head. "Why is she so concerned about appearances now?"

"You're asking the wrong person." Kazumi sighed with a shrug. "She's even worse after work, wolfing down food, getting shit-faced drunk and throwing up in an alley."

"Oh yeah, I think I recall seeing two figures  in alley almost every night, one of them always barfing rainbows." You said with a chuckle. "So that was you two huh?"

You were usually busy with something else when you saw those two figures so you never really payed that much attention to the two formerly mysterious alley lurkers.

Kazumi looked down in shame after hearing that.

"Yeah that's us." She groaned. "Useless Goddess drinks like she's dying of thirst but can't hold down her liquor."

"Why does she barf rainbows?" You asked curiously.

"I don't know." She responded covering her face. "I don't know how the world works anymore."

Suddenly you were both brought out of your conversation when you both heard Aqua screaming.

You both turned and saw Aqua running towards a giant pink Toad, rage in her eyes.

"AQUA WAIT!" Kazumi yelled about to run after her, but you held her back.

She stared at you confused and you simply told her:

"I've got this."

"YOU WILL KNOW THE WRATH OF A GOD!" Aqua snarled bringing both your attention back to her as she charged towards the enormous Amphibian. "HOW DARE YOU BARE YOUR FILTHY FANGS AT US!? HOW DARE YOU CHALLENGE ME!"

As Aqua screamed her little heart out at the creature a multi-colored surge of energy suddenly erupted from her right fist.

"GOD BLOW!" She yelled as Kazumi looked amazed at the massive surge of magical energy while you looked deadpan.

"A LETHAL FIST THAT CARRIES ALL OF A GODDESS'S RAGE AND SORROW, ANYONE STRUCK WITH IT SHALL PERISH!" Aqua continued to scream as she grew closer to the giant toad ready to deliver a devestaing blow that annihilate the fowl creature.

That didn't happen though, instead Aqua's God Blow did absolutely nothing.

It harmlessly struck the Giant Toad just like you expected it to.

"Yup, anyone with any magic experience would know that attack...was absolute shit." You sighed as Aqua awkwardly looked up at the enormous Amphibian.

"You know, up close like this you froggies are kinda cute." She said cautiously.

The Toad seemed to take offense to this statement as it opened it's massive maw to devour her.

All Aqua could do was stare as the slimy mouth closed in.

Thankfully it suddenly stopped as the Giant Toad was suddenly impaled by a purple spike from underneath it.

The spike had pierced it's throat keeping it's neck in place preventing it from coming down on Aqua.

Aqua fell back onto her ass breathing heavily and clutching at her chest as she gazed at the now dead toad.

She looked back at you and saw your hand was raised high.

You had conjured the spike that pierced the Toad and upon realizing that, Aqua's eyes welled up with tears.

She immediately sprinted towards you, tears flowing from her eyes, arms outstretched.

"Huh?" You asked confused as Aqua approached at frightening speeds.

"THANK YOU (Y/N)!" She screamed as she was about to envelop you in a tight hug.

She couldn't though, as she slammed face-first into the Star-shaped energy shield you conjured up.

"I don't think so." You stated before crossing your arms making the shield disappear and making Aqua faceplant.

"Sorry, but I don't want my bones crushed." You stated as Aqua let out a muffled groan on the ground.

"Hey (Y/N), thanks for helping us out." Kazumi said as she helped Aqua standing up.

"No problem." You said with a chuckle. "But if you really want to thank me, then come spend Money at my Shoppe."

"Really?" Aqua asked with a sigh. "You're gonna try and advertise your shop to us now?"

"First of all, it's Shoppe and second of all, it's just good business." You retorted flicking Aqua on the head making her yelp and flinch. "You don't have to if you don't want to, but I would appreciate it."

"That's fair I guess." Aqua said crossing her arms. "Guess we'll come over."

"No, we're definitely going...as long as the price is reasonable." Kazumi said hopefully, giving you pleading eyes as if asking you to not fliece them out of money.

"Well that depends on your definition of reasonable." You said making air quotes when you said "reasonable." "But you all shouldn't worry, if you're a new Adventurer I'll make sure you can actually afford what I have, but they'll be far from the best things I have, just a few things to make your beginner missions easier."

"Thank you, that's all we need right now." Kazumi said with a sigh of relief.

Aqua let out a sigh as well thankful you weren't a complete cheapskate.

"I'd like to go home now." She said and Kazumi nodded.

"I'm ready for a long bath." Kazumi stated and all Aqua could do was groan in agreement as they began trudging back home.

You were about to follow them but you noticed something odd about the giant toad that Kazumi killed.

Of course she had left a large slash on it's belly which caused it to bleed out.

However what caught your attention was an odd glowing object within the slash.

"Well I'll see you two soon, I have something I need to do first." You stated waving goodbye.

Both Aqua and Kazumi shrugged and went on their way as what you did in your free time was none of their business.

Once they were a good distance away, you looked back at the dead toad and walked over to it before reaching into it's wound.

You wretched at the awful stench but pushed through.

"Why am I even doing this?" You thought disgusted. "For all I know this could be nothing but a low-level weapon."

It was too late now, your hand was already in there so might as well see it through.

You finally managed to grab hold of something that wasn't an organ, bone or something squishy.

So you quickly pulled it out trying your hardest not to throw up as you did.

With whatever it was free from the innards of the frog you examined it.

And when you did, your eyes widened at the object you just pulled out.

"An energy sphere?" You asked shocked.

This was an energy Sphere from the Lor StarCutter itself.

There were probably thousands scattered along with the prominent pieces.

They weren't important pieces, but it was better than nothing.

So you opened a Star-shaped portal to your little pocket dimension for safekeeping.

It was quite Lucky that the toad Kazumi killed had devoured an energy Sphere.

"Hm...Luck." You thought thinking back to Kazumi.

You remembered she showed you her Adventurer card to judge weather or not she could even learn magic from you.

You remember that Kazumi's luck was quite high, abnormally high actually.

"Maybe..." You thought thinking about Kazumi.

Did her luck help you find this?

Shouldn't her luck only help her?

No, there had to be another explanation...however, maybe you should make sure.
