BAD News...
Michael's POV
I walk to the center of the stage. I look out to the empty arena. I'm so ready for this tour. We leave in two weeks for Japan! My first concert is Sept. 12 in Tokyo at Korakuen Stadium.
I'm at the last rehearsal. Everyone's taking a water break. Frank, my manager, says,
"Hey, Mike. Come down here for a sec. "
I easily hop off the stage and walk over to Frank. I ask,
"Yeah, Frank? "
He smiles and says, "Mike, you just got asked to perform at the 30th Grammy Awards. "
I say, "Of course I'll do it! "
He laughs and pats my shoulder. He says, "I knew you would. They said you can choose whichever songs you'd like. "
"Alright. Thanks, Frank. "
Frank smiles and says, "I didn't do a thing, Michael. They're coming to you. "
His phone begins to ring. He pats my shoulder and walks away to answer his phone. Things seem to be going beyond good. My shows are already sold out. It's crazy. I love my fans.
I hear,
"You can't do a back flip, Dave. "
I look up on stage. Dave, one of the three main dancers, says,
"You better get ready to pay up. "
He's standing where the drums are set. He's planning on doing a back flip off of that?! He gets in the ready position. I yell,
"No! "
But it was too late. He already jumped. He performed the back flip successfully, but when he lands, my world shatters.
He screams in pain. I jump on stage and run over to him. I kneel down beside him and ask,
"What hurts? "
He holds his right leg and says, in pain, through gritted teeth,
"I think I broke my leg! "
One of the dancers were already calling the ambulance. Dave is so stubborn. Whenever someone says he can't do something, he'll do whatever it takes to do it. I just wish he would've thought of the consequences before doing this.
Dave is a really good dancer. Like really good! Where am I suppose to find another in two weeks?
Hours Later
I got a call and the doctor said that Dave will be able to dance again, but he won't be able to dance any time soon.
This is just great!
"Mike, calm down. "
I ask, " Frank, how am I suppose to calm down when I have my first solo tour coming up and I don't have a main dancer? "
The main dancers are basically performing the entire time. They have short breaks just like me. The other dancers have longer breaks.
I choose my main dancers personally and I know for a fact no one else will be able to handle dancing the entire concert except for my two other main dancers. I guess I can use just two..
"Mike, you have two others. Why do you need three? "
I think about it for a second. Then, I shake my head and say,
"No, I need three. I just need three. "
Frank says, "We can have last minute auditions. Hopefully someone can replace him. "
I sigh and say, "I guess that is the only option we have. I really don't want to sit through a series of bad dancers. "
Frank says, "It's all apart of the business, kid. "
I smile and say, "We have no time to waste. "
It's a shame Dave won't be able to dance with me. I saw myself in him. The fire in his eyes. It reminded me of myself. I hope he never looses that flame.
