Two days since we came back from my aunt's house for the holiday and I can't wait to see Ben and Jane.

Lying on this bed and staring at the ceiling out of boredom is torture.

It's a cool friendly evening. Every Friday is always an exciting one for me because I get to see my best friends.

This Friday is an extra because I will get to see them after a month. Ben has texted me he's having a mini party In his house.

"Hope mum has not planned another weekend trip" I murmured.

Since my dad died, mum has been taking us to my aunt's house every weekend for a reason best known to her.

I pick myself up from the bed to go talk to my mom

When I get to the sitting room, my mum was lying on the couch with a book in her hand.

"Hi mom" I greeted with a strange look on my face.

"Hi, baby. Have you taken your food? I kept it on the dining table." Mum asked without looking at me.

"Yes mom" I answered and my voice did it. she raised her head from the book to look at me.

"Are you okay?" Mom asked. Staring at me with those motherly looks like she's reading my future.

"Mom do you have a plan for today? I'm going to practice" I said.
Mum is still staring, I can feel her eyes straight on mine. The whole thing is becoming scary, does it mean she knows am not only going to rehearsal?

I just need a good lie.
It has been one month since I saw Ben and Jane so I'm ready to give anything to go out this evening.
We have much to talk about.

I'd zoomed out after that but was pulled out of my thoughts when mile my brother entered.

"Jeiel I have been watching you for over a minute now, are you sure you're good?" Mum asked again. I looked out knowing that the question would pop up at some point. Searching my head for a good lie.

"Yes mom, our HOD called me this afternoon and I promised him I must be In practice today" I answered but this time felt my heart beat so hard.

"Okay. Go get ready then" mom said.

With so much excitement, I flew like a bird to my room.

"Thank God!" I shouted before falling backward on my bed.

Jane and Ben are so annoying. Why on earth am I this excited to go see them?
But the truth is, I miss them so much. Even the texting we have been doing since I traveled wasn't enough.

I was still deep in thought when someone swabbed me and I jumped.

"Jeiel I have been standing here watching you smiling and talking, alone." mum said. Standing upright behind my door. And mile is now sitting beside me on my bed.

"Mum I was smiling at what........ Mile is wearing" was all I could muster.
I slowly glance at Mile and smile.

"What......?!" Mile said. I slapped my hand over his mouth and smiled sheepishly when he winced and looked at me in confusion and pain.

I mouthed an apology to him but couldn't risk taking my hands off his mouth.

"I'm in my room in case you need me." mum said before she left my room amused.

That was close. Why is she amused for? She would have walked away from the whole drama unfolding.

Mile patted my hands, I squeezed his hand in appreciation.
"Take care, sis," he said before walking out of my room.

"Thanks, buddy." I know he will make me apologize to him later.

Many people are not in the church as I expected when I got In. The people I saw weren't my favorite people so I just waved at them and find a seat for myself at the corner.

"Look who we have here" Ben's voice called from somewhere in the church.
I sat up, my head flipping from side to side as my eyes scanned the church.

"You missed me?" He asked. Still not gracing me with his face.

At the corner of the church Doom, I sighted honey eyes boy staring back at me, a smirk on his face.

"Are you going to stand there forever or run over here and hug me?" I said with an attitude.

My voice did nothing to diminish the smirk on his face. instead, it grows into a full-blown smile.

"I miss you girl" Ben replied walking up to me, and stretching his hands out for a hug.

It was then I noticed that his voice was like a cup of hot tea in a pair of frozen hands. But chose to ignore that and focus on the fact that despite his music-to-the-ear kind of voice, he's still my best friend.

"Lost but found" I heard Jane say from somewhere close to us and the next thing I notice is a community hug.
And I hugged them back.

I missed this, I don't think I would have survived another full day without seeing them.

"I was thinking you were gone forever" Jane added

I laughed, she was silly for thinking I wouldn't be coming back. But did I even blame her? My mom wouldn't let us stay around anymore.

"I'm sorry I made you feel that way but I promise I won't leave like that ever again" I promised her. I know that wouldn't be possible but I felt she needed to hear this.

"So guys...... Let's get back to business" Ben said clapping his hands together.

"Right..... Let's go then" I said.

The Time went by so quickly. The rehearsal has ended, and am surprised that people I never knew noticed my existence and came to me asking where I have been.

"Hi Jeiel, It has been a while, did you travel? You look different..." Jesi said.

Jesi...... The girl broke up with Ben because according to her, Ben was cheating on her with me.

"Yes I traveled with my mom'" I answered. Trying to be polite as I can.
When I spotted Ben, I mouthed "save me" to him and within two seconds, he was standing beside me.

He's always been my lifesaver.

"Jeiel, Jane is waiting for us we need to get going," Ben said. interrupting Jesi and me. I felt the urge to gag but I held myself in check and kept the tiring smile on my face.

"You're welcome," Ben whispered, sounding amused. What the fuck is he doing, acting like those overprotective bullying big brothers that threaten all boys and keep them away from their baby sister?
