I dialed his number right away. We don't keep in contact this whole time but we aren't cutting it either. He would talked to me once a month to asked me how I was feeling and obviously I was not okay.
Strangely enough he didn't pick up his phone making me fastened my pace towards his apartment. Of course I know where he lived, he was Changmin's best man for a reason.
"Lee Juyeon!", upon reaching his door, I pound on it and keep shouting his name. He never left home after the incident so I was sure he was home.
My tears were running dry and my fists were hurting but there must be a way to prevent what was about to become. I just couldn't bear to lose the love of my life.
I slowly slipped down in front of his door when the door quietly clicked open making me whip my head towards the figure behind the door.
"Y/N-ah...", his voice were shaking and I was shocked to see him in such worst condition than I was. It was like a hurricane had just finished tormenting him.
"Lee Juyeon...what happened to you?"
My voice was small, feeling sympathy to what he must be feeling right now. I just guess he got a letter too.
"It's all my fault Y/N-ah...it wasn't Changmin..."
Confused at what he was saying I walked inside and watch him stumble upon his own feet. There were bottles of alcohol everywhere and I clearly understood he was completely wasted. But they always said a drunk man is the most honest man.
"What do you mean?"
"It wasn't Changmin. I was the one who did that...that old man was too lousy and a complete jerk towards Changmin. I pushed him...he fell and cracked his head, what a foolish man"
I gasp and took a step back. It wasn't Changmin, I always wanted to believe that he wasn't guilty but now that I know, I don't know what to feel. Why did Changmin took the foul?
"Changmin-ah"
"Dad, why are you calling me now? I have to attend my graduation..."
"Come and see me in my office right now"
Changmin shrugged his shoulder and paced toward the Principal's room.
"What? No I won't do it!"
Changmin threw the paper he received and glare at the man in front of him.
"This is your last chance to study abroad and become succesful. Why? Is it because of that girl?"
Changmin widened his eyes and his body started shaking, the fear he had for the old man never left his body.
"You didn't think I'd knew? Everyone in the campus knew your obsession towards her, you really think I'd be exceptional? Leave the country as soon you received your degree and never talk to her again. Or you won't like what I'll be doing to her and her family"
"DON'T! You can beat me up all you want but don't you dare lay your fingers on her!"
His father lose him temper and so did Changmin. The room's temperature was hot making both of them sweat profusely.
"You dare scream back at me?"
His father charge towards him with a stick that was next to his table and started beating his son. Changmin did not fight back, not because he was weak but because he was his father.
Just as Changmin fell on the ground, the door was opened by Juyeon who had some paper to be delivered to the Principal. His eyes widened seeing his friend lying bloody on the ground and ran towards him dropping the paper and pushed the man that was about to beat his son again.
The old man fell backwards and hit his head on his very own table, not breathing anymore. Juyeon panic seeing both the father and his son lying next to each other until Changmin cough out and was concious to the situation.
"Run", Changmin whispered making Juyeon to look at him in disbelief.
"Changmin-ah..."
"You didn't do it...it was me. Run before anyone sees you"
Juyeon stood up trembling all over and take a last look at his friend wailing to even get up on his own.
And so he ran out.
"Ji Changmin that stupid foolish human, you know where he is right? Take me to him right now"
