Poem Ⅰ: Hesitate
Hesitate (verb) - to hold back
Hesitant about how I look
Even with abs, darting gaze.
Still ballet teacher fat-shaming,
Incidentally find myself lopsided.
Too much to bear, cultivate sense
Am not enough
To be a ballerina.
Exert myself for a new, old day.
A/N:
There's a song in the beginning, so go listen to that :) This whole poetry collection isn't about fat-shaming, but it's more of a starting point in my place in the ballet world. Has anyone done ballet or is doing it?
What do you guys think about this poem?
