"Can I see her?"

Neteyam looked at Ronal, the woman having been by her daughter's side, taking care of her and checking up on her.

Ronal eyed him before moving aside, watching the boy head immediately to her eldest daughter's side, sitting beside her.

"Hey, what are you doing here?" Emea coughed out, smiling a little up at Neteyam who grabbed her hand. "Don't tell me, you miss the presence of the best person ever, huh?"

"I don't miss Ao'nung," Neteyam mumbled to her, chuckling at coming to hear her dramatic gasp that made her cough. He immediately panicked. "Be careful, Emea."

"Be careful," Ronal rushed to her daughter's side. As soon as she made sure Emea was okay, she cleared her throat. "I'm going to check up on your father. I'll be back."

"Okay, mother," Emea nodded and smiled at her, watching at her leave. She turned to stare at Neteyam. "So, what's going on in the outside?"

"Well, we followed Lo'ak to the tulkun, Payakan," Neteyam nodded at her shocked face. "I know. It seems to be like he's telling the truth. But, your parents found out. Your father is very... scary."

Emea chuckled at his words and nodded. "Yeah, I bet. My father is very stern about that type of thing. But, is Tsireya and Lo'ak okay?"

"Your sister got yelled at," Neteyam told her, watching the way her face fell. "Lo'ak, well, he got in trouble again. And you, don't blame yourself for your sister getting yelled."

"I am blaming myself but it's not about me," Emea looked at him in the eyes. "My sister and your brother do not need to be belittled down for their actions."

"You are sick and you are thinking about my brother and your sister?" Neteyam asked and she looked away. He sighed and tightened the grip on her hand. "You need to worry about yourself, Emea."

"Do you know what happened?" She asked him. "No one is telling me anything."

Neteyam shook his head. "The Sky People went to one of the other villages, looking for myfamily. It wasn't good. The village was burnt down. That's why you felt what you felt."

Emea felt tears escape her eyes. She closed them and couldn't fathom to imagine what her people had gone through. The pain she felt was nothing compared to what they were feeling. It couldn't compare.

"They burnt their homes?" Emea looked at Neteyam and he could feel a pain ignite at his chest at seeing her so vulnerable. She really loved her people. "How could they?"

Neteyam exhaled and fixed his position. He laid down beside her and grabbed her head, bringing it to his chest where she cried.

"I am sorry," Neteyam apologized. "I am sorry that you are hurting."

Emea sniffed and shook her head, backing away to look at him. His fingers raised to her cheek and he wiped the tears away while she sighed.

"It is not your fault," she muttered. "The Sky People... they do not have a good heart like yours and my people. They do not care about the damages and the pain is causes us. They do not care about our homes and the children and the animals. Do not blame yourself when greed is why they makes us lose everything and they gain something out of it."

Neteyam nodded at her words, feeling her relax in his arms. He heard her breathe and her hands were warm against his chest, feeling the thump of his heartbeat.

"You had me worried," Neteyam whispered to her as if they were sharing secrets. "It is painful to see when your friend is in pain and there's nothing you can do. I'm glad you're doing okay."

"As much as this pain is hard for me," Emea started, "I am forever grateful for the gift Eywa gave to me."

"I am just worried that you will be taken away for what you are able to feel and how much you matter to your people," Neteyam expressed his concerns. "They look at you like you are Eywa herself. Your mother even looks at you like you are."

Emea smiled a little at his words. "Thank you for being here by the way. It means a lot."

"No need to thank me," Neteyam smiled up at the ceiling, feeling the breeze of the wind as night came upon them. "If you are feeling better tomorrow, let's go sit down by the water, and if you want, we can invite everyone. I don't want you to be here for too long."

"Hopefully the pain isn't as worse as today," Emea snuggled closer to him. "The pain... my body felt like I was being burnt and I felt every emotion. But, being here with you in a way, it helps relieve some of it. So, let's hope I'm okay by tomorrow."

Neteyam thought about her words, bring his other hand to cradle her face. They both laid down on their sides with Emea snuggled up to his chest while his arm was under her head and the other was playing with her hair. They both laid where their souls intertwined, bringing them such a serene feeling.

"If anything happens," Neteyam started, voice hushed, "I will be here to protect you, Emea."

"And I'll be here to protect you, Neteyam."

The way his name rolled off her tongue in a way it should've been. In a way it was always destined to be. Yes, it was just a name but to Neteyam and Emea, both of their names said from one another was more than just butterflies.

As they fell asleep under the night sky, Neytiri looked for her son.

It wasn't until Ronal walked past her, giving her a side glance, "Come with me."

Neytiri followed after the pregnant woman just as confused as the look Jake had given her, wondering where his wife was heading to.

Neytiri looked at the family's home, bigger than theirs. But she could only focus on the two souls resting together, holding onto each other tight.

"It seems," Ronal glanced at Neytiri, "like our children have a bigger connection than we know of."

Neytiri could only see the way her son held onto the chief's daughter. The way he held the girl closer to him as if letting go was really the end. She smiled a little and she could see Ronal was smiling a little.

"You're not mad?" Neytiri whispered to her as they headed out.

"My daughters happiness, both of them," Ronal started, "their happiness matters to me. A mother is there for her children to love and support them, not to be against who they love and what they love."

"You'll be okay with Emea loving someone who is not part of your clan?" Neytiri mumbled as if it was too hard to believe and it was.

"If it makes my daughter happy."
