Prologue-11 Reconsideration Miracle!
"Well done my young blossom..."
I smiled sweetly as I see her succeed along with her friends in my crystal ball.
"Congrats young blossom, your powers and teamwork lead you to sweet victory." I answered softly as I stood up from my chair.
"I think it's time..."
I magically used my staff I disappeared from my office and went to see my young apprentice.
_______________
We're back in the mirror chamber with the magic stone in hand, but when we showed it to the headmaster...
We weren't expecting those words from him.
"Eh!? You really went to Dwarfs' Mine to find a magic crystal?" Crowley shouted with his eyes in a surprise expression.
"Eeeeh?!"
"I really didn't think...You'd not only go but then come back with a crystal in hand. I quietly completed the paperwork for your expulsion." He continued.
"What?! Are you kidding me?! You thought that we're gonna give up and get expelled already?! What the hell were you thinking!!" I shrieked at him with red veins popping out from my forehead stopped my foot at him.
"Nnga! The nerve of this guy! While we were off fighting some crazy beast!" Grim explained angrily and it caught the headmaster's attention.
"Beast?"
"There was a monster there!
It was super gross and crazy strong, it was awful!" Ace answered as he shook his head.
"Could you all explain in more detail?" He asked and we agreed to explain it in his office.
_____________
***^Headmaster's Office^***
We explained how we managed to get the magic stone and also the part of us working together to get it.
And Ace and Deuce explained about the beast was calling me 'Reaper', my eyes changing color, the black chain were locking me up, the invisible dome, my scythe turning into a pen and etc.
The headmaster was actually surprised at our explanation, but he was more surprised of my actions of helping them to get the crystal.
"Hoh hoohh~ A mysterious monster living in the coal mine. The four of you worked together to defeat it and bring back a magic crystal?"
"Yeah." I answered honestly.
"And more importantly, Miss Mitchell almost die from it?" He continued asking.
"Yes..." I answered in defeat and was hoping for the headmaster to understand our situation already.
"We didn't really work together..." Ace spoke carelessly.
"It was more like our goals were aligned..." Deuce answered as Lynette sighed and looked at them.
"Really now?" I sighed as I shook my head.
Then soon, the headmaster started to...Cry?!
"Ooh... Ooooh...OOOOOOOOHHH!!!! OOOOOOHHH *sob sob sob*!!"
"What's with this guy? Why is an adult bursting into tears!?" Grim shouted as I flicked his head with my fingers.
"Ouch! What was that for?!"
"Any adults like him are allowed to cry like that! Just don't judge him!"
"In all these years that I've been Headmaster...For the day to come that students from Night Raven College to go hand-in-hand to face and defeat their enemy!" The headmaster sang in a very happy tone which caused Ace and Deuce to flinch at him.
"What!? I did not hold this guy's hand!" Deuce protested.
"I would never do that, gross! But Headmaster, how old are you!?" Ace shouted with an annoyed face.
"Can you guys stop! Let him speak first!" I shouted which caused them to sigh and stayed quiet.
"I am overwhelmed with such wonderful emotion, letting Miss Mitchell tagging along you all was the correct choice and this incident absolutely confirms it. Lynette Mitchell, Without a doubt, you have talent as a beast tamer!" Crowley confirmed to me as he pointed his finder at me directly.
But I wasn't surprised at this though because...
"Of course Dire, that's because she is a beast tamer!" A voice boomed causing to startled everyone but Lynette.
Wait...that voice!
"Sensei?!" I screamed.
"Sensei?"
Suddenly, someone touched Crowley's shoulder, causing him to flinch. A wise elder appeared and was holding a gold staff with a white lantern attached to it.
"Sensei!" I shouted happily as I embrace him with a warm hug.
"I'm so glad to see you again! I was so worried about you!" I cried as he gave me a gentle pat.
"Haha! I am as well young blossom." the elder chuckled.
"Wait a minute! Wiz! You know her?!" Crowley shouted with a surprise expression on his face and was not expecting this touching reunion.
"Of course I do Dire, is there a problem of seeing my young apprentice?" the elder asked curiously as I turned to them.
"EEEEEEEEEEEHHHHHHHHH?!"
"Apprentice?! Lynette Mitchell is your apprentice?!" The headmaster shouted as the elder nodded.
"Why yes, of course Dire, I can tell that you're surprised by this sudden reunion, and..." He slowly turns to Ace, Deuce and Grim and smiled gently.
"You three, well done on defeating the beast. Well done."
"This is Master Wiz, a wise and strong mage of the royal dragon family and he's happens my mentor!" I explained as he walked forward to them.
"Eh?! The Royal dragon family?!" The trio screamed and couldn't believe that her mentor is actually a family member of a royal family.
"Wait! He's a mage?!" Grim asked with eyes wide at this sudden news.
"It's a pleasure to meet you all and yes I am a mage to my family." The elder greeted formally.
"Nice to meet you too, Name's Ace Trappola." Ace greeted.
"Deuce Spade, nice to meet you." Deuce greeted as he bow down his head to him.
"The name is Grim, who is born to become a greatest mage in the whole wide world!"
"Ahaha, I can tell that but I already know who you are young men." The elder answered as he turned to the headmaster.
"You may continue your explanation Dire."
"Thank you Wiz, now then where was I? Ahh yes, the Students of Night Raven College are budding wizards called here by the Dark Mirror. However, they are of a superior class that makes them prideful and egotistical people that have not even the slightest inkling to work with others. Making many of them selfish and self-centred." He explained.
"Ahh! That explain their idiotic and stupid behavior!" I spoke and finally understood.
"Don't call us that!" The Ace and Deuce screamed with a annoyed look.
"You're really not saying anything good at all." Grim answered.
"Be quiet now boys." Wiz answered.
"Wiz, your apprentice's presence and her magic abilities are in a good use, precisely because of your rare magic and your leadership skill means that you could give instructions to wizards and get them to cooperate. Perhaps that mediocrity is exactly what this school needs right now!" The headmaster smiled happily.
"He's not saying anything nice is he!?" Ace screamed.
"Lynette Mitchell, I have no doubt that your existence is essential to the future of this academy. So says my educator-senses." He spoke as he stood up from his table.
"Trappola, Spade. Along with rescinding your Expulsion, I shall give you the qualifications to let Grim to attend Night Raven College as a student!"
"EHHHHH?!"
"Really?! You're gonna let Grim enroll here?!" I smiled happily.
"Yes. For I am exceedingly gracious." The headmaster grinned as Grim started to cry.
"Ffgna!? I...I can go to this academy too...? Not as a handyman, but as a student?" Grim asked as his eyes became teary at this sudden.
"Absolutely, Grim. You have proven to me that you possess enough talent to become a wizard. Therefore I shall allow you to enroll here as a first-year student. Please don't ever let an incident like yesterday occur again! Do we have an agreement?" he asked.
"Ffgnaa...Fffnnaa...Yes headmaster!"
"Congratulations Grim!" I shouted happily as Grim rushed to me and gave me a hug.
"Ffggnnnnnaa!! I did it!! I finally did it!!" He screamed happily as I patted his head.
"Well then, I shall give the symbol of your status as a student of Night Raven College, a magic crystal, to Grim." Crowley answered as he magically made a crystal to appear on his collar.
"Whoa! A magic crystal!?"
"It is the norm for students to have their magic crystals in the form of a 'magic pen' but, You wouldn't be able to grip it in your paws, right? It's a special custom. Aaah...I pay attention to even the smallest details! Aren't I too gracious?" He answered.
"I did it!! I'm so cool! I got my own special magic crystal collar~~🎵" Grim cheered happily but the headmaster knew that he didn't listen as he turned to my direction.
"He isn't listening at all...Miss Mitchell do you understand this? As you can see and just like before, Grim is not accustomed to human society. It's up to you take the rein and supervise him to prevent from causing any more trouble!" He answered.
"Understood headmaster." I answered.
"Wow Wiz, your apprentice is very respectful to adults." The headmaster answered as the elder chuckled as he patted my head.
"I taught her so, Dire."
"Aha! Look at you Lynn! School's just started, but you're already a supervisor!" Ace smiled as he patted my shoulder.
"Lynn? That's my nickname if my name is too long, so did you know that?" I asked until he gave me a cheeky smile.
"Just guess? After all, Lynn is a good nickname for you and not just a supervisor headmaster, she's more of a Prefect." he continued.
"A prefect?" I asked with confusion but Sensei got his answer.
"Ah, judging by her leadership skills and also giving out a plan for everyone to cooperate, indeed Mr. Trappola, she is like a prefect." He agreed.
"I see. There's only the two of you in your dorm...So if you've been entrusted with supervising Grim, that makes you a supervisor...or should I say a prefect." Deuce answered with a smile.
"Pufft... Isn't that unheard of? For there to be a female Prefect who has rare magic because she's a half-myth, Nice. It's cool. A supervisor female student who can use rare magic!" He laughed but I giggled at his response.
"I'll do my best!" I answered as I gave them a gentle smile which caused Ace and Deuce to blush but I didn't notice it happening.
"Ahaha. Good luck, Prefect!" Ace cheered until...
"Ahh! That reminds me! Why did you send me here?!" I asked Sensei seriously.
"Out of all the other schools back at home, why this one and more importantly an 'All boys-school'? If my brothers hears this, they will go psycho on me for sure." I continued which made everyone but Sensei confused.
"Well, I've search some of the schools before we got here, but sadly none of them can handle a strong myth like you so this school is the only way." He explained as he used his staff to bonk my head gently.
Well...he does have a point, alot of schools back at home were actually different from this one, some were for nobles, some were for normal people, some are for half animals, some are for people who are training to a ninja and etc. A myth like me enroll in one of those schools would be a bit disturbing and would cause me a bit of a trouble.
But, that explains why he send me here. This school can actually handle my powers as long I won't over-do it.
"You got a point there Sensei..." I mumbled quietly.
"See? I knew you can do it, Unless if you want to transfer to Royale Sword Academy for the better?" he continued as I flinched when I heard that name.
"EEEHHH?! ROYALE SWORD ACADEMY?!" The trip screamed.
"No way! I'm not going there ever! Remember what they did back at home last three months!? If I ever hear that name again, I gonna go berserk!" I answered angrily, but Sensei knew my answer.
"That's my young blossom." The elder answered sweetly.
"Wait a minute, Master Wiz right? You send her here?" Ace asked curious until the elder nodded.
"Of course, Mr. Trappola, as you can see, I wanted my blossom's powers to stronger and better so sending her here is the only choice I had." Wiz explained as he comb his beard.
"You could've have given me the details about it!" I whined as I gave him a pout.
"My apologies my blossom."
"Ahh, that explains it and more importantly, can I see your pen?" The headmaster asked as I took the pink pen out from my pocket gave showed it to him.
"Hmm...this is a very odd magical pen and it's quite different from the other magical pen that the students has and it's pink and it has a diamond gem but no color but white." He observed carefully as he turned to Sensei.
"You happen to know this Wiz?" He asked as the elder nodded as he took the pink pen.
"Of course, I added a special upgrade to your moon lantern young blossom, in case if you need it, just flip your pen up into the air and Presto! Go ahead and try it."
I didn't hesitate as I flip the pen up in the air, until the pen turned into a scythe within a few seconds, everyone was shocked to see it happened.
"See? Kiss your scythe slowly." He ordered me and I did, and slowly it turns back into a pen.
"Woah..." The trio spoked.
"Woah, you did an amazing job this upgrade Sensei..." I answered I amazement.
"Your welcome, besides and I was also the one you put your things in the Ramshackle Dorm yesterday's night." He whispered which it made giggle a little at him.
"You'd should had told me before, also I was planning to look for you and your office before, but I didn't because you know." I replied as I shook my head.
"I know and my office is somewhere you might already know." He whispered softly my eyes looked at him as he chuckled, which made me a bit embarrassed.
I guess all that of searching still end up the same thing and I knew that his office is somewhere in the library...why didn't I think of that before all of this happened.
"And more importantly, you will still have your usual schedule like before, so better not back down." he continued as I turned to his direction.
"I got it." I answered.
"I see, a prefect. I do have a work request, and having a title makes it very convenient...This is absolutely wonderful!" The headmaster smiled happily as he turned to Master Wiz.
"I hope that doesn't bother you Wiz. Is it okay for you?"
"Not at all but don't give her too much work or I will pluck your feathers out with my own bare hands!" The elder answered seriously with cause the headmaster to flinch.
"Of course I won't and don't take my feathers out please! and Miss Mitchell. I entrust you with this."
"This is nicknamed as the 'ghost camera'. He explained as he handed over a old camera.
"Ghost Camera?" I spoked in confusion.
"Ah, I think my grandma told me about that. It's a super old magic tool, right?" Ace asked as I looked at it, looks pretty old.
"It is not "super old" ... Ahem. It's true this may have been invented during your great grandmother's, or great-great grandmother's time. There is a very special spell cast on it. It not only captures the subjects' form, but also a part of their soul." he explained carefully.
"A part of their soul...?" Deuce and I answered.
"We call this "Memory: A Fragment of Remembrance." Furthermore, the most interesting part of this magic camera is that the souls of the photographer and the photographed become deeply connected and the Memory in the photo comes jumping out!" Crowley continued as Wiz came to me to look at it.
"So all souls are connected to it and it comes jumping out? That sounds like a spirit reaper's job, right Sensei?" I told him.
"It does but it's kinda different than that, but it's is fascinating." He agreed.
"Depending on how close the subject and the photographer are, the picture could move like a video, or bring to life the situation in the photo. And it is fascinating, right?" He finished his sentence.
"Bring the photo to life? It's like a ghost photograph!" Deuce answered with amazement in his eyes.
"Yes. Therefore it is called a "ghost camera". They say it was made before the time of videos for when people wanted to leave behind vivid memories... Spade was correct; in the past, people would scream "ghost!" in surprise when the memory came jumping out. They were paralyzed with fear at the thought of having a photo taken with this camera." He surprised us as he turned to me and Sensei.
"A camera for freaking people out..." Ace mumbled quietly
"By the way Wiz, what is a spirit reaper?" The headmaster asked.
"A spirit reaper is a person who is known as 'The Soul Keepers' or 'Hell's Death Magers' who guard haunted spirits of the people who had passed away, it's their job to make sure every spirit is captured and making sure that no one is taken alive." The elder explained which it caused Deuce, Ace and Grim to shiver by his explanation.
"Woah...that pretty scary..." Grim answered as he jumped onto to my head.
"Every single spirit has ways to escape their own prison cell, underneath every full moon a spirit will break free from their cage will haunt and will devour anyone's soul they will feast. The more souls they eat...the more people will...you know..." he explained and remembered about how many sinned people souls had been taken in the past centuries before the first murder.
The most ones who have died were...the people who are half-animals and some are nobles.
"That's...really scary ya know..." Grim answered.
"That is...very terrify..." The headmaster answered quietly.
"Agree...if I ever met one, I rather run away instead of fighting it." Deuce answered.
"Same here man, and sounds like your world is a bit scary though..." Ace mentioned which caused Sensei and I to look down for a bit.
The people who are half-animals has grudges on us...especially noble ones. We half-myth people got along with normal humans or normal magicians who happened to be commoners except for the people who are half-animal.
They would often make fun of us or they would mess with us and etc. but instead they ended up being exclied or punished for doing it by the royal dragon family, the rulers are very disappointed on why the half-animals really hated us so much. And yet even without a fair explanation, they still hate us because we can do something that they can't even do.
But there was one thing the half-animals are really feared of if they ever commit a crime...and that is getting killed alive.
It was the cruelest punishment they ever feared of, despite the fact they still hate us but it would turned into the biggest regret. All of us, myth and humans respect the royal family and their duties of ruling the land and the royal family accepted us for doing it...but for the half-animals...they think that they being the rulers of the land is a mistake and they would often make fun of their children and them as well.
But in the end...they ended getting what they didn't expect to be. Alot of them were ashamed and wished that God and ancient dragons gave them a second chance...but that wouldn't happen after what they had did.
"Anywho, Miss Mitchell, please take photos of Grim and the other students to leave behind many memories of your lives in this academy." The headmaster answered kindly.
"Got it." I answered.
"La-lalala. Take lots of cool photos for me Lynette~" Grim cooed as he gave me a pat on my head.
"...Especially, always make sure to get "Memories" when someone steps out of line." Crowley said as his voice was grown deeper.
"When someone steps out of the line? What do you mean by that headmaster?" I asked.
"You will understand that another time, It's a most suitable way to report to me, right? Keep an eye on your surroundings and take memories as the prefect. To generously give you a rare item that can be used by a rare magician... Does my graciousness know no bounds?" He smiled.
"I'll try it out, thank you headmaster!"
"It is already late. Let's save the detailed conversation for tomorrow.
Return to your dormitories, everyone." The headmaster answered as he turn to Sensei's direction.
"Wiz, you may return to your office, you can see your apprentice another time."
"Understood Dire." He answered politly as he telaported back to his office.
"Pardon our intrusion." Deuce answered as we bow down to the headmaster and left his office.
It's been a long day.
