*Location: Courtyard*

After chasing Ruggie all around the hallways of the school, along with trying to escape the pink-haired half-myth and her pocket full of knives, for his dear life.

The team chased Ruggie all the way to the courtyard, which of course Ace, Deuce and Grim were exhausted and barely even move a muscle after the whole chase, except for Lynette who still wasn't happy after Ruggie dodged all of attempts knife throwing.

Welp, that's enough to make her blood boil.

"Shishishi! Three of you already and this’s the best you can do? I’m not even sweating!" Ruggie laughed seeing the state of the three, catching their breath, but was trying to avoid making eye-contact of Lynette, who was glaring at him.

"*panting* What’s with this guy?! He’s so hard to catch!" Ace yelled, while looking at Ruggie.

"He’s not only a fast runner, but his ability to jump from high places is no joke either…!" Deuce answered along with him, after seeing him jumping from one place to another.

"Ugh… Even I can’t catch up to him…" Grim panted and was about to faint.

"That guy... He surely dared to dodge my knives?! Now I'm gonna have to clean my whole knife collection!" Lynette complained loudly, and was frustrated.

"Shishishi! This is nothing compared to the slums I was raised in. Except for those knives though..." He cackled until he muttered quietly about Lynette's knife skills, especially when it comes to throwing one at somebody like a potential target.

"Y’know, even if you catch me now, can you even prove that I did it?" Ruggie mocked as he look at the others below him.

"What did you say?" Deuce answered while Lynette tried to keep her inner anger in.

"I mean, there’s no proof that I’m the one who hurt them, right? Did anyone even see me using magic? And do they have picture evidence? There’s none, right?" Ruggie explained, which it sounded true.

"Ugh… Th-that’s…" Ace muttered till Lynette gritted her teeth.

"Even if we don't have evidence that you did it, but my instincts never lie to me Ruggie. Someone like you can say it like a cheat." Lynette answered which Ruggie snickered at her angry face.

"Cheater? That’s a compliment. Shishishi! Try going after me when you’ve got proof, will ya?
Well, that is, if you can do it next time~" Ruggie laughed as he waved his hands slyly.

"Ugh…! This guy’s so frustrating!" Grim muttered.

"More like a cheating nuisance, Grim." Lynette muttered quietly which the hyena didn't hear her.

"Alright, that’s all for our game of tag. Ah, I’ll leave the magical pens I nabbed here. Bye-bye~♪" Ruggie answered as he dropped Cater and Riddle's magical pens, which Lynette caught them with her two hands as Ruggie disappeared.

"Damn, he pisses me off!" Ace yelled as he fell to the ground, most likely exhausted from the chase.

"Prefect Rosehearts will have our heads now…" Deuce muttered as he lowered his head, kneeing that their prefect would definitely collared them eventually since they couldn't catch the hyena.

"Didn't he just say 'next time' by the way? But hey, we got the pens back- Except for the culprit." Lynette spoke as she put the two magical pens into her skirt pockets.

"By the way Lynn... How many knives do you even have?" Ace asked as he looked away from her.

"Fifteen. I have a whole collection of that. It's kept in the kitchen drawers."

"Fifteen?!"

"What? So that I wouldn't spend half of my allowance on another set if I lost one or two of them. It's seems better."

"Why say that so normally...?"

"You’re still playing detectives?" A voice answered as the team noticed Jack approaching to them.

"Oh Jack." Lynette answered as she noticed him coming.

"Wha—You should’ve helped instead of just watching. Your dorm senpai’s a total bad guy, y’know?" Ace commented as he stood up from the ground.

"Why are you so desperate to try and help others?" The wolf asked as he crossed his arms sternly.

"For others’ sake?" Deuce answered.

"That's rather a simple reason, Deuce." Lynette answered with a sweatdrop.

"I understand that you’d want to avenge your hurt friends, but…" Jack answered but-

"Hah? What’re you on now?" Ace laughed.

"Eh?" Jack spoke in confusion as he look at the team, but only on Ace and Deuce.

"Who said we’re doin’ this to help people?" Ace teased, which Lynette has started to listen to their conversation.

"We simply want to prove our worth by catching the criminal." Deuce answered alongside with him.

Pardon me?

"Exactly. We just wanna be players in the coming tournament. Plus, we just wanna show off."

...are you guys...

"I’m gonna catch that guy so I can be on TV, too!" Grim explained as he raised his paw in determination.

"I feel bad for Trey-senpai, but we’ll take his place in the spotlight~" Ace smirked until-

"So... Then you guys did all of this just to get approval to play in the tournament?" Lynette answered, clearly stating the fact correctly.

Dumb enough for the three idiots, which they immediately flinched and regretted what they spoke, the one-brain cells trio turned to find Lynette who looked definitely unimpressed... And disappointed at them.

"Hah... Who would have guessed those statements, especially from idiots like you three. Makes me wondered why I'm stuck with you guys." Lynette stated as she crossed her arms, still wearing that unimpressed expression.

"If either of you had said that before hand after Trey's accident a few days back, I would have been glad to do this workload alone, you know that?" She continued as she look at the three, who are know quite embarrassed and they started to shiver at her aura eventually.

"Now that has been clearly been said~ I wondered how Riddle and the headmaster react to that comment then?" Lynette mumbled, at that moment, the three flinched at Riddle's name alongside with the headmaster's as well.

Lynette had noticed their scared reactions and immediately sighed in defeat and looked away from them and crossed her arms.

"Honestly boys, you've could have done worser than that. Plus, you didn't put any slight effort while we were chasing Ruggie. That was certainly disappointing, especially from the three of you." Lynette answered as she turned away while the Grim, Ace and Deuce felt like their pride has been half crushed, thanks to her words.

"What?! Hey!!" The three yelled, somewhat offended by her words.

"What? I expected something a little better. Especially from guys like you three idiots. Plus, put some good use of that brain of yours." Lynette continued, as she stated another clear fact about it. Again.

Okay, their pride has been crushed once again. By a sixteen year-old female half-myth.

Jack, who has been listening to all of it. Started to laugh.

"Hah! I thought I wouldn’t be able to trust people who blindly help others, but… I didn’t think you’d be such jerks." Jack commented and was slightly annoyed, he might have to agree with Lynette's comment about the three of them being idiots.

"Really now? You’re worse than we are, dude." Ace commented as the team look at the wolf.

"So Jack, you knew about it all along, didn’t you? You knew who the culprits were all this time." Ace continued as all four of them waited an answer from him.

"Can agree with Ace here. He does have a certain point." Lynette stated.

"Ah! You’re from the same dorm so you knew you wouldn’t be targeted!" Grim yelled as he pointed his paw at the wolf as Lynette stepped forward at Jack as she look up at him.

"And another important thing, if you knew what's going on then, I don't think you're the type of person for that kind of cooperation your dorm is planning." Lynette stated as she continued talking.

"You've could have done something, so why staying low on all of this then? To prove that, I saw how you acted around your seniors, especially at Leona and Ruggie when we stopped by at Savanaclaw after the game we played." Lynette asked and was now getting serious.

The female fox had a slightest hunch that Jack wasn't apart of this. But some slight of hope that he could cooperate with this a little.

A long sound of silence as the wind blew, it wasn't before long Jack spoke.

"… Hey, you lot. Duel with me." Jack commanded.

"Eh?"

"Hah?! Why that all of a sudden?" Ace yelled.

"If you prove to me that you can do more than just bark, I don’t mind telling you everything I know." Jack stated as he started balling his fists up, preparing for the duel.

"Ugh… I don’t really like sweating and all that, dude." Ace sighed and doesn't wanna join.

"Then just watch then if you don't wanna." Lynette stated.

"I don’t really mind. It’s an easy negotiation!" Deuce answered with a smirk as he switched into his delinquent mode again.

"Wha–!? Deuce’s delinquent switch is on now…!" Grim yelped.

"Honestly, why am I stuck with you guys? Especially as a group?" Lynette sighed and was about to turn away, until-

"Oi, Lynette right? If I have some time left, spar with me if I beat one of your team mates. And then I'll give what I've learned about what's going on." Jack stated loudly, clearly getting Lynette's attention as she turned around.

The three idiots and Jack look at Lynette, who was now looking at Jack, with an look that can make only the three-

"Ooo~?" Lynette smirked as her ears perked up at the wolf's request.

"O_0" (The three morons right now XD- 'Is he- No-')

"You heard me. You seem promising after I saw your skills, guess looks like yours will fool anyone easier. If you win, I'll explain everything to you." Jack continued, which the three idiots knew what was coming next.

"Woah- woah- woah! Hold up one second man, you do realize that she's gonna turn into a-" Ace stated and was now panicking but -

"On second thoughts, it's a deal!"

"WHA- LYNN- NO-"

"Good, you better not disappoint me Mitchell."

"Sweet! Sorry Deuce but I'll be taking your spotlight for now!" Lynette answered sweetly as she quickly shoved Deuce and Grim to the other side with Ace.

Resulting the three idiots crashing each other into the grass with a thud. They watched as Lynette removed her black hair ribbon as she tied up her hair into a high ponytail. She smirked as she got into her fighting position.

"And also~ I've been itching to participate in a duel for a while now so..." Lynette stated sweetly until-

"Do not fail to entertain me in this fight, Jack." She smiled as if she's gone wild inside.

"AAAAAHHHH!! SHE'S ON PSYCHO MODE!!" The trio yelled in fear, knowing this would actually happen.

"?! Ha... Alright. Come at me!" Jack yelled as he and Lynette clashed into their battle.
