Sophie's pov

"And who is taking you there?"
Mum asked as I wore Olivia's newly purchased white sneakers.

"A friend is coming to pick me up." I replied.

She eyed me skeptically before saying,"Which friend?"

"Don't worry mum! I'll be back before 10".

I was dressed for Vanessa's birthday party and my mum, being an African mum, was reluctant about me going.

"See mouth like 10. If you aren't in this house by 9, you will sleep outside!" Mum deadpanned and Olivia snapped her head up.

"Ahan, mum why nau? I've spoken to her friend. She's safe. "

Mum shrugged before agreeing." Be back by 10. Or I'll roast you."

I hugged them goodbye and made my way outside to where Nathan was waiting for me in the car. And my mum had no idea my friend was a boy.

I opened the door to the backseat, and when I locked it, the car started moving.

"You look beautiful. As always." He said, pecking my cheeks. I could hear my heart beat.

I took my time to access him and dayum, he can dress! He was wearing a pair of blue ripped jeans, a black top and sneakers.

"You like what you see? I bet you'd love it more without cloth." He said, winking.

"Bastard!" I muttered and he chuckled.

"Where's your sister?" I asked

"She went early, aspa cousin to the celebrant. She is acting Asif it's her birthday."

Nathan said and I chuckled.

The intro of Joro blasted from the speaker. I was about singing it to it when Nathan changed the song.

"Are you mad?" I blurted out as soon as I heard the intro of Risky

"Please don't tell me you are a fan of genius abi what's his name?"

"It's Wizkid and yes, I love him. I don't understand your rubbbish obsession with Davido."

"It's not rubbish! 30BG for life!!" He shouted and I rolled my eyes.

"Why do you even like Davido? "

"Abeg, davido is the king of afrobeats! Agree with your lipgloss!"

This guy is a fool. I thought as I chuckled.

"I'm sure you only like Wizkid cause he is fine."

I moved back till my back was touching the door but he moved closer. So close I could feel his breath on my forehead since he was taller than me.

His hands found its way to the back of my neck and he tilted his head. Now he was extremely close. One more move and his lips will be on mine.

I stopped breathing. I looked deep into his brown eyes that held so many things I couldn't decipher.

His finger made its way to the side of my lips. I wanted to melt. Oluwa, wetin dey occur?

"You have a little something here." He breathed out.

He removed something from the side of my lips and moved away from me like I was a virus.

What the hell just happened?? And why did it hurt?

I looked at him and he acted like I didn't exist. His back facing me . And asif the radio was mocking me, Someone you loved by Lewis Capaldi started playing.

And asif it was planned, a tear dropped from my eyes.

I got down from the car as soon as the driver stopped the car. I avoided Nathan all throughout the car ride. I just felt so angry at him. Why did he do that? Why act like he wants to kiss me and not?!

Does he not like me like he claims he does?

"Sophie!" I heard Nathan call from behind. I increased my pace and thanks to his long legs, he caught up with me.

"What do you want Nathan?" I asked, gritting my teeth .

"Are you angry with me? I'm sorry!" He said.

"It's fine." And I walked away from him.

The house, or should I say mansion, was packed with horny ass teenagers. I could see some kissing, some were taking pictures and others were dancing.

The living room was bigger than my compound.

The furniture was moved to a side to create space for dancing. And by the side was a bar.

I took a seat and ordered a can of coke.

"Mind if I sit?" Someone asked and I looked up.

She looked so innocent in that wine coloured off shoulder dress that revealed a small part of her lap.

So sexy!

I saw her come in with that bastard Nathaniel and it was obvious they had a disagreement.

"Mind if I sit?" I said and she looked at me. Just her eyes made my heart race.

She gave me a smile but bobbing her head. Her long hair was neatly braided into two. She was looking so perfect even without make-up.

Yes, I like her. Right from the day she was stained. She's so naive and it's adorable as shit!

The DJ played Of Lagos by Mayorkun and the crowd erupted into a loud cheer.

"Wanna dance?" I asked and she bobbed her head.

We moved to the dance floor and well, this girl wanted to kill me!

Sophie danced like a pro. Like all eyes were on her. I didn't miss the death glare Nathan gave me.

That even made me place my hands on her small waist. And she smiled.

After dancing, we headed to the back where they were playing truth or dare. We were many in the circle. I could see Sophie with the birthday girl and Lily. So many other people, some I knew, and some I didn't.

"Okay, the game is simple. If you pick truth, you'll have to pick dare next. If you don't want to do it, you have to take a shot of vodka " My sister, Kate said and we all agreed.

We played the game for a while

At a point, the bottle stopped with the head facing Nathaniel and the bottom facing Jane,a girl in my class.

"Nathaniel, truth or dare." She said.

"Dare!" He said and got cheered on by some boys.

Mschew...rubbish.

"I dare you to kiss Sophie." And I stopped.

Wait why? Is this Jane okay?

Nathaniel got up and made his way to an irritated Sophie.

I, alongside, everyone was expecting him to kiss her. But instead, took the shit of vodka behind her and drowned it down.

I didn't miss the tears that were threatening to come out of Sophie's eyes. She got up and walked away.

What the hell just happened?
