"Morning Seán, how are y-"
Chase broke off as he entered Seán's room to find the male unconscious and no longer breathing, Chase rushing to Seán's side with tears pricking his eyes.
"Doc, I need help!" Chase shouted desperately as he frantically searched for Seán's pulse, his voice cracking with emotion as Schneep came running into the room with the syringe of antiserum in hand.
"Gotcha guys."
Schneep froze mid-step by Seán's bed with an unamused expression, Chase breathing out a sigh of relief as Seán chuckled and sat up.
"Gotta admit, you're a pretty good actor." Chase remarked with a light smile as he sat down in the chair by Seán's bed.
"Zhis motherfucker." Schneep growled as he quickly hid the serum away, Seán shooting a curious look at him.
"What's in the syringe? Please tell me I don't have to have that, I hate needles." Seán admitted.
"It's nothing you need to vorry about. Now, how are you feeling?" Schneep questioned gently, Seán pulling his knees close to his chest.
"Same as I have been for months I guess. Forgetting things, anxiety attacks, low blood pressure, restlessness, increased heart rate, fevers or chills, and occasionally having trouble breathing." Seán listed off.
"And you have been taking your antibiotics?" Schneep added, Seán nodding as he hugged his knees to his chest and rested his head on his knees, his fingernails digging into his arms to leave red nail shaped marks.
"Hey, you're okay." Chase soothed the Irishman as he stood up and sat on the bed next to Seán, rubbing his back in soothing circles.
"I'm going to die I haven't been getting better and the antibiotics barely help I don't want to die-"
"Jack, you're okay. We've got you." Chase cut off Seán's rambling, looking over at Schneep with a heartbroken expression.
Seán choked out a strangled sob as he hid his face from Schneep and Chase, his body shaking under Chase's touch.
Schneep's expression was unreadable as he abruptly left the room and went into the break room, Chase remaining to try and calm Seán down.
"Seán means too much to me, I can't-no, I von't lose him." Schneep corrected himself quietly as he started a fresh pot of coffee for him.
"You having a rough day too Henrik?"
Schneep turned to see a doctor dressed in a lab coat with brown hair and chocolate brown eyes enter the room, the male shooting Schneep a tired smile.
"More like a rough seven months. Jack's condition hasn't been improving much despite all of the medicine we're giving him. I have zhe solution Iplier, but I fear zhat it may be vorse zhan zhe illness he has now." Schneep sighed wearily as he rubbed his face with his hands.
"I'm sorry, he's dying." Iplier apologized, Schneep shaking his head as he poured himself a cup of coffee before pouring one for his coworker.
"Not on my vatch he is not." Schneep declared as he set his coffee down on the table and left the room, jogging down the hall towards Seán's room.
"Doc, his heart rate is spiking and he's having trouble breathing again." Chase informed Schneep grimly as the German stepped in, his hand wrapping around the syringe in his pocket.
Seán was desperately clawing at his throat with tears shining in his eyes, his mouth open in a silent cry as Schneep took the syringe out of his pocket.
"Doc, I can't let you use that on him." Chase argued, stepping between Seán and the German with a grim expression.
"Chase, get zhe fuck out of my way." Schneep commanded in a dangerously calm tone, Chase refusing to budge.
"I'm sorry mein friend." Schneep apologized in a whisper before elbowing Chase hard in the nose, causing him to stagger back in surprise as blood ran down his face.
Schneep took a deep breath before stabbing the needle into Seán's neck and injecting the serum into his bloodstream, the Irishman's eyes boring into Schneep's before they fluttered shut.
"Doc..." Chase trailed off as he looked at Seán, Schneep wordlessly finding Chase a box of tissues and tossing it to him.
"Please mein friend, wake up." Schneep pleaded under his breath as he knelt by Seán's bedside, his head bowed as he waited for a response.
Schneep raised his head as Seán sucked in a startled gasp, the Irishman gingerly pressing a hand to his neck where the serum had been injected.
"I'm...not dead? How?" Seán questioned Schneep as he sat up, a small smile lighting up Schneep's face.
"That serum..." Seán trailed off as he pressed his hands over his ears, wincing in pain as Schneep shot up to his feet.
"Jack, are you okay? Are you feeling alright?" Schneep asked Seán worriedly, the Irishman looking at Schneep before his eyes widened in fear.
"W-what's happening to me?" Seán stammered as he scrambled off of the bed, Chase making sure he wouldn't fall by standing by Seán's side.
"Tell me vhat is going on so I can help you." Schneep directed calmly, Seán shaking his head as he retreated away from Chase and Schneep.
"I can hear someone watching tv from six miles away, I can see your skeletons, I-"
Seán broke off as he abruptly ran out of the room, Schneep and Chase hastily running after him.
"Vait!" Schneep cried, Seán doing a front flip over a nurse pushing a stretcher down the hall to clumsily land on the other side and run for the door.
"How can he do that?!" Chase exclaimed as Seán ran out of the hospital, Schneep stopping next to him while struggling to catch his breath.
"It's zhe serum, it's affecting him differently zhan zhe other patient ve used it on." Schneep mused while panting for breath.
"So what do we do?" Chase asked Schneep, the German walking out of the hospital before pausing to look back at his friend.
"Ve hope zhat Jack makes zhe right choice."
